It's my pleasure Berona - feel free - new wardrobe - new kitchen - new car - and a big red hat to show off in, just to astound the neighbours lol.

Tec.

So nice of you Tec. Just a reminder to both you and Linda - don't touch that ten pounds you won - that has to go towards the cruiser.
But, of course! We need the 'holiday' clothes to wear when we get our cruiser!
And, of course, the bikinis! Don't worry Tec. I'll give that one a miss and just watch the others in theirs!

Right first time Sue - gullible - my middle name lol.

Well much as I would like to stay, it's very late, and I'm very tired.
So Enjoy your day Sue and Berona ,
Sleep well Poms (where's Diane today?)

Goodnight,
Tec.

Berona Report 6 Oct 2010 23:42

Good night Tec. Hope you and the Duchess sleep well.

You leave us all excited about our spending spree. I've just thought of a few more things I would like. Must start that list!

Berona

Berona Report 6 Oct 2010 23:57

Looks like Linda has left us, but I'll wager she can't sleep for the excitement of the spending spree!

I must go now too. Haven't yet made my bed. See!? I'm all of a tizz about replenishing my wardrobe!

Berona - we must think of Tec's well-being. He will start to worry if we overspend. On the other hand......he is encouraging us:-))

Sleep well Tec - hope you have a better night.

I must be off Berona. I hope you have a great day thinking of how we can spend Tec's money:-)) Enjoy the day.

Good morning thread.

Of course you must come with us Berona. All the stores have wheel chairs, so useful for loading the bags onto. You can also nudge people out of the way with them. I spent years taking mum shopping in one. She didn't like the idea of being pushed around at first, but as she couldn't walk round, it was the only way. She soon got used to it and we loved going clothes shopping together

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 Oct 2010 10:26

Silly me Berona, I forgot that based on Tec's lottery win, we are going to be mega rich, so we don't need to do that.
We will simply all go to the store together and make the personal shopper bring us all the clothes. We can then try them on at our leisure. That is a much better idea and cuts out all the walking.

Yes that is what we can do. The Duchess might like to join us as well Tec, being a posh store, I am sure they will have a quiet area to entertain bored but rich husbands

Berona Report 7 Oct 2010 10:33

OK Linda, you talked me into it. Where my dtr shops, they have a few motorised wheel chairs/scooters (darned if I know what they call them) and they can be hired. I don't know if there is a charge but when I first saw them, I had a devilish desire to see what speed they would do around the supermarket!
However, I'm spoiled. For a few years now, my daughter has had a supplementary card on my credit account and she gets me what I want from anywhere. Anything from furniture and clothes to food. She even gets my prescriptions made up and pays for them with the card. It's so convenient; easy for her and I just pay the account by internet. So much easier these days, than our parents had it. I remember my Mum going to town every week just to pay a bill and it was all cash. I used to pay my bills by cheque, but even that has almost died now.

Berona Report 7 Oct 2010 10:43

You weren't there when I started to type. Yes, I'll join you and we should have a lovely time. I hope the Duchess can join us, I would like to meet her. If this store is so posh, I wonder if they do what Harrods do? (Close the store when Royalty comes to shop). Wouldn't that be nice?

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 Oct 2010 11:00

It would indeed Berona. I was just looking in my wardrobe wondering what to wear this afternoon and decided that I need more smart winter trousers, so a shopping trip is indeed called for and we don't want the "common" people getting in our way

Hi all~~

Haven't been posting on this thread for a few days, can do the quizzes etc was wasn't up to chatting , had a fit of the blues :(
No sympathy required please:)

Been following the thread tho, lol seems as if you're all 'banking 'on Tec getting a win and spending his money.lol
Just had the plumber in, to organize a start date and plan of action how to tackle putting this new bathroom to rights, so if I have a share I 'll go to putting it towards the bathroom.lol

Kids are gutted that they may have to be without a shower for at least a week ! What with tiles and grouting have to dry off after it has been installed.
They never had a tin bath in front of the fire or a complete wash down using the basin .lol
Perhaps I can persuade them to go and stay with friends for a week !!
Back in a bit, Emmerdale calls.lol~~~

Of course you can come Sandie, it sounds as if you need some retail therapy

I am very pleased because I have just found OH's grandfather's sisters marriage in 1906 and the 1811 census, plus children and deaths etc. I have been looking for this for ages. it is nice when it all comes together

Hello everyone - hope you are all well.

We all get "down" times Sandie when we don't feel like chatting. Nice to see you back.

Linda - it's great when it comes together and equally frustrating when it doesn't. 1811 Census??

Tecwyn Report 7 Oct 2010 21:49

Good Morning/Everyone,

Hi Sandie - You'll probably need a lottery win to pay the plumber lol.
There is a programme coming on BBC Wales where two families go to live in Snowdonia back in 1890, working in the slate quarry - I bet they didn't have showers - should be interesting.

Linda, That was very rewarding info you found - does your OH take an interest in his family history?

Hi Sue - Do you have a guilty conscience re the linen cupboard, or did you give in?

As you are all intent on taking advantage of my generosity, I have decided some rules of the game must apply.

Each of you will be given a limit of £10,000 or equivelant in Aussie $.
Each has only six hours to spend it.
Any moneys left over after allotted time must be returned.
Should anyone not feel capable of spending the money in six hours - they can have less if the challenge is too demanding.

Tec - the philanthropist.

*$parkling $andie* Report 7 Oct 2010 21:50

Hi Linda ~~

Had a fair bit of retail therapy recently, costly tho, and not perhaps the type that lifts your spirits quite as much as some smart clothing.

Taken delivery of most of the bathroom stuff, just waiting on the shower unit now !
Hubby just said it may be 10 to 14 days without the use of the shower, as the tiles and grouting need quite a few days to dry off !
Oh perhaps the kids may leave home then .lol......

I' ve tended to to go in a linear type of tree, although I have, branched out on a few that haven't been too difficult. I originally just wanted my roots !
Good on you tho to have found something you've been looking for, for a while. Pleased for you :)

My eldest grandparents married in 1908 and I have an 8 inch China dog , ---not like the usual bigger 14 inch ones you see, although I do have one of those also (one half of a pair I assume , don't know where the other one's went ).
They had the pair I presume ( I just have the left hand side one ) as a wedding present, grampa used to let me play with it as a child, I was 5 when he died, but it is still in excellent condition and wouldn't part with it for the world :)
