I'm right here! Just quietly reading back over the posts.
Tec - we mostly call them mobile phones, although we get so much U.S. television, we hear them say cell phones so it's a case of 'take your pick - we know what you mean'

My mother urged me to get my children immunised for whatever was available because she had so much worry with me. In the space of a month, I had measles, whooping cough and diptheria - three operations to my ears. I had my fourth birthday in hospital.

Berona

Berona Report 5 Oct 2010 23:47

I may be wrong, but I feel that a lot of these illnesses are coming from people who emigrate into our country and either don't know about the immunisation or don't know enough about them to have their children immunised.

Berona - if you're looking in sorry I left so abruptly. I had a long phone call and when I hung up the phone rang almost straight away.

I also think that people coming in from some countries may be unaware of various vaccinations. TB is also on the rise.

Morning everyone,
I've been busy reading!
I thought of the Aussies on here because I'm reading " A Town Like Alice"!
Hope everyone is ok

Hello Pat, how lovely to see you, I hope that you are well.
It is chilly here this morning, but dry. Once the sun gets up, it will probably be a nice autumn day

Berona

Berona Report 6 Oct 2010 10:45

It has been a pleasant spring day here. In the morning, the skies were overcast and it looked like it would rain at any moment - but then it changed its mind and sent the sun instead.

Hello Patricia. Nice to see you again. "A Town Like Alice"? I don't think even 'The Alice' is like that any more. That's quite an old book.

Good Morning Pat , and Linda,
Good evening Berona,

Strange day here - sunshine - showers - hailstones.
Had a very disturbed night, so jelly legged and tired today. Think I may just have a lazy day.

Tec.

Hi Tec,

Sorry that you don't feel au fait Tec.

Good Evening Linda,

Have you had a busy day?
Having problems typing on this site - same last night. The words appear seconds after I've typed them - most annoying.
No problem with e-mails

Good evening Tec, I got the email

I have had a lazy day. I went to the supermarket, did a bit of ironing and that was all really. Oh i gave away a couple of things on Freecycle and they were collected

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 6 Oct 2010 21:54

I also had a lazy day - well lazyish.
I tried to join FreeCycle as I had a few items to give away - back came a message " Your registration has been refused"
Bloomin cheek - the items I had were quite good lol.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 6 Oct 2010 22:00

lol Tec, I have no idea why that would be. I have given lots of stuff away, there are always loads of people after it. I suspect some of them are dealers who sell it on, but I suppose that it is better than sending it to the tip

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 6 Oct 2010 22:05

Freecycle is a useful scheme, my neighbour has got rid of all kinds of things, usually the next day, 3 piece suite, freezer, tv etc.

Being refused I felt like I'd been burgled and they didn't take anything - the shame of it lol.

Tec.
