Good evening Linda .....yes , winter is just round the corner and the nights are drawing in rapidly .

On the subject of teeth ( again ....lol ) my Grandson had to have one removed today . It was an odd tooth ( we called it his "shark tooth " ) it had grown in the top gum , right in the centre ( much like the original vampire )
He was a brave boy having it pulled out and now hopefully his good teeth will take there proper places .

Are you feeling better Linda?

Amanda - what a baby you are:-)) Yesterday it was quite sunny for most of the day but still damp because of 3 days of rain. On the garage was a perfect spider web with rain drops on it. With the sun shining through it it was a beautiful sight.

I have a nice cold Tec, but I am not feeling ill. OH is complaining about having a sore throat, so will probably have man flu soon.

It doesn't matter in the great scheme of things. I had some bad news today. i have a cousin who lives in Canada, she is only 55. She has had bad chest problems for most of the year, but now her weight has plummeted. She has been diagnosed with lung cancer and it has spread because she has four tumours on her brain. As a life long smoker, it is self inflicted, but it is such a shame

I know I'm silly to be scared by spiders but it was a web in the face that started it off as a child : ((
Having said that , I do admire the beauty of a spangled web in the mornings and I actually spend time watching them spin their creations . I just freak out if I get one on me ......lol

Hello LInda ......I'm sorry to hear of your sad news today and I hope that your cousin is as comfortable as possible under such circumstances .

I hope your cold clears up soon too .

Berona Report 5 Oct 2010 22:27

Greetings - all! I'm improving - I think! although I cheated and only read the last page of the posts. I'll go back later to catch up.

I'm so glad the children's ears are OK. When I was 3, I had diptheria and it left me with a perforated ear drum. The immunisation against diptheria was just beginning and the doctor gave me one injection, but it was too late. After three operations for mastoid, I have gone through life going deaf every time I get a cold. I only need to have the slightest sniffle, and one ear gets blocked. Anything more serious and both ears block. I have been much better since I began getting the flu jab each year for about ten years now.

Linda - I'm really sorry about your cousin. Bad health is a consequence of smoking but not a punishment - it's always sad to hear.

Hello Berona - you have done well:-))

Good morning Berona nice to see you on this early.

Linda I'm sorry to hear about your cousin and hope she isn't suffering to much, she is such a young age.

Back on the subject of teeth, my employer, ( physically and mentally disabled ) for those who don't know, lost another one of his teeth while he was in restbite, he now only has 4or5 left.. Doesn't seem to cause him any problem's with eating though.

Linda That is sad news about your cousin in Canada, I am sorry.

I do hope you will make your OH comfortable if he does succumb to man flu. He has my sympathy poor guy.

Good Morning Berona,
You usually arrive as I'm halfway up the stairs, so this is a nice surprise.
We never hear of diptheria now, whereas it was common when I was young, as was scarlet fever. Hopefully it has been eradicated.

Tec.

As long as you keep an eye on Drew, I am sure he will be fine Sue. I remember when my son was only about three, OH was doing some DIY and put down a surform he had been using. My son picked it up and copied what daddy had been doing, but instead of planing the bannisters, he planed the edge off our brand new telephone table

Hello Linda and Sue. I think it's great that you are both here - you too Amanda!....I suppose Diane is still here - she's a Night Owl. Hi Diane. You were right in not thinking it was a year since I had RTA problems.
I renewed my license in October and had a full eye test, with new glasses in November ($700 worth). Then, in April, I wanted to apply for a parking permit and I had to go through the whole thing again with both doctor and optometrist filling in the same form that I used when I renewed the license in October. I renewed my license for five years (although I doubt I will still be driving that long) but now, in October - I have to go through it all AGAIN to be able to KEEP my license.

You can probably remember me complaining about it in April...and now again! I need to go to the doctor once a month now for a blood test and he is good enough to attend to anything else at the same time - but the optometrist only has to look at my record and say I'm OK to drive - but she grabs my Medicare card and collects over $50 from the government every time I go near her. No wonder our Health System is in strife!

Diane

Diane Report 5 Oct 2010 22:51

Yes Sue quite busy and it may sound silly but doing gardening instead of housework is easier for my hip as standing up and just pushing the mower and clipping the grass edges is better for my hip than leaning over and bending down. I'm not sure it will be as easy when I have to cut back the plant's as that involves a lot of bending over. If it is to much then I won't do it.

Ooops Linda - I can just imagine your face:-)) When my daughter was about 3 she sprayed a cabinet with flyspray and rubbed it in with a cloth. It took some of the surface off but luckily OH was able to fix it. I wasn't impressed but I realised that she was copying me polishing the furniture.

We don't hear of diptheria but whooping cough is apparently on the rise again which is a shame. It's a nasty illness.

Linda .....I think Sue was talking in past tense when she mentioned polishing the furniture . She is far to busy buffing up the silver to bother with such menial things now ....lol
