Oh my goodness ,on the news just now ,found in a small super market a few old boxes of Shred*ies from the seventies ,so old there was no sell buy date on the boxes ,but one box sold on eb*y for just over £150 !!!!! they had a Ma*e label on with the price of 10p !!!

Just off to see what i can find in my cupboard , might find some thing i can sell :-D :-D :-D :-D

William

William Report 13 Jan 2012 19:13

Millie, I guess that's what you call turning shreddies into readies! The way prices go up everytime we go shopping, they'll soon be catching up on that!!!
When my Dad died, we found loads of old tins of food he'd never bothered, all with old dates on. I reckon we did the wrong thing skipping them.

Jane Report 13 Jan 2012 19:19

Off to have a root through my cupboards now Mandy lol.I'm surprised the mice hadn't found their way into those old Shreddi* boxes. :-S

I can't stop sneezing.My ribs are hurting now :-| :-| Nose looks like a beacon :-S..

Pat I'm sorry you are still having trouble with your fish.
Just spotted your post William .I am just going to scroll back to read it.I hate the way it is so easy to miss peoples posts. They can slip in without you noticing :-S :-S

LOL William , your right about the prices ,every time you go shopping some things gone up !!!
You might have made some money on those tins William !! some people will buy any thing !!
I wouldn't want to eat the cereal after all this time !!

Annx Report 13 Jan 2012 20:19

Jane, after the 'beacon' it will become 'snakeskin' !!!!! ;-) Are your ribs hurting from sneezing or coughing.......or both? You get to the point where you wonder if it is worth going to bed, but I hope you have a better night tonight. :-D

Oh Pat, I wonder what is affecting your fish. Is it all the same kind that you have lost or different sorts? It seems very hit and miss where you work at the moment......must be anyone's guess who and if staff will turn up.

Mandy, it is a wonder the cereal wasn't dust after all this time. I bet I have some out of date stuff in my cupboards too. Do you remember those whole cooked chickens you could buy in a big tin years ago. I remember mum having one in the cupboard for 'emergencies', but it stayed there that many years none of us wanted to risk eating it and she had to throw it out in the end. :-(

Annx Report 13 Jan 2012 20:30

William, everyone seemed to have a bike years ago. I remember dad cycling 20 miles to and from work every day when I was little. FIL did much the same going from Hinckley to Clear Hooters ( bet Jane wishes hers was..lol......sorry Jane, couldn't resist.....will behave now and be nice!) at Coventry. FIL told us he got a puncture on the way one day and to save him pushing his bike the rest of the journey, a man let him leave his bike in his driveway to pick up on his way home again later. When he went to pick it up, the man had repaired the puncture for him so he could ride it home again. OH and I were saying the other day how everyone would leave their bikes at the kerbside resting a pedal on the kerb. Nowadays we have to lash them to a lampost or something with steel cable and a lock......don't times change!

Snakeskin just appearing :-S.Ribs are hurting from sneezing.Touch wood no cough (yet).Plastering on Vaseline under my nose in bucket fulls, but then I get the sneezes and it all gets wiped off again :-S :-S My ears have bunged up now as well .Hey Ho! it will be all cleared up soon. Not sure what the sleeping arrangements are tonight :-S :-S :-SI may be chucked out into the summerhouse.
I was watching Jeremy Kyle at 4am this morning :-D.I may be watching it again tomorrow :-|

Annx

Annx Report 13 Jan 2012 20:53

Sounds to me like you will be out on your ear tonight ......watching Jeremy Kyle again......or Gerry Springer!! They always seem to be on in the night. Does Chester come and snuggle up on the sofa with you or is he snoring in his bed? It really is a nasty cold that we are all getting this year.......I'd never had one that dripped for so many days before.

Think I am off to bed now.......need to be up early again tomorrow.......on the hunt for a new ironing board that will fit in the cupboard.

Night, night xx

Jane

Jane Report 13 Jan 2012 21:30

Ann ,I have left the spare Duvet on the end of the settee all day ,as i think it may come into use again in the night.Chester never comes for a snuggle on the settee .He will just have a look at me ,have an ear rub and then creep back to his bed .Then every now and then will just come and have a look to see if I am still there lol
l 'm getting very bunged up again now but still running. It always gets worse in the evenings doesn't it :-S.Must go and find the Vick* again.
I find it very helpful having a cleavage as I can keep the tissues down there.I have one with Vick on ,and another to catch the drips :-D

Hello all,

Is anyone in touch with Anne??? Can they wish her a huge Happy Birthday from me?? Is she going to be back with us soon?? So many questions :-S

Jane that cold sounds awful. If it turns into a cough rub the Vic*s on the soles of your feet and put socks on - apparently my neighbours around the corner swear it works and helps with sleep. There is an email going around about it as well.

Mandy how is your back today?? Frank hope the ear is improving for you and that you are getting over your cold Fiona. Pat I am having trouble with my teeth, they are lifting from the gums because of my health. I would hate to lose them, but there are quite a few that will have to come out. I really hate the dentist :-( I had quite a bit of trouble with my fish tank in the early days and it does make a difference where you get them and the correct advice. It was very confusing until we found one supplier who knew what he was talking about.

It has been grey and wet all day. Left the towels out all night thinking they would be fine, but I slept through the downpour and now they are sopping. Oh well, hopefully some sun tomorrow.

Frank very sorry to hear about Ros friend's sister. What a shock to lose her like that and so young.

Steak and veg tonight. I am pretty hungry and it's ready, so I hope to be back later. Love to Mel, Shirl, Ann and everyone else.

Frank, no I don't drive any more. My licence expired in 2008 and I haven't driven since 2003. The doctor wouldn't allow it any way. I would like to have it renewed, just as extra ID. AND YOU NEVER KNOW, I MIGHT MAKE IT BACK ONTO THE ROADS. ;-) ;-) Look out everyone, lol.
