Morning All I got turfed out of bed at 7.45.I was annoying Chris by being awake lol.He needed to have a lie in and is still asleep. So I have been down here with my Tea and Toast and book.Chester is not amused,he hasn't had his snuggle in bed under the duvet I think I will do something in the slow cooker today. It has been a while since I used it.
Anne I hope your DIL is alright today. She obviously has some good help lol.
I can hear floorboards creaking ,so I think Chris must be out of bed.I'll go and pop the kettle on for him. BBL 9.29

Morning Jane and all,
Not so frosty this morning, in fact I have only been up a little while so I must have needed the sleep.
David thank you for the online hug!
Liz some years ago a friend of mine moved from here in Devon to be near her daughter who had a broken marriage with a chap in the next village just 2 miles up the road. They upped and left for up north somewhere to be near her and the baby. Just a year later the daughter met a chap and married again and moved miles away leaving her parents and sister without any close friends around them. They wanted to come back to Devon but now could'nt afford to.

Morning Buttercups,
Sitting in the conservatory, waiting for the "BRUNCH". Conrad and I will clear up while the gilrs get ready to go out.
Not such a nice day, very overcast. It might clear later,
Didn't sleep too well, Had a name on my mind, that I couldn't remember. I took hours to bring it to mind, then I droped off. The birds were away earlly this morning.
Jan, has just come in from Oakham, I forgot my Asprin, so she went and bought me a pot. Will have to go and take one now.

I take your point Mel!!! This of course IS another thing to consider! I really don't want to be stuck where I don't want to be, daughter having chased off somewhere else! Didn't have a very good night going over it all! Anyhow, sun out here today, but the wind is like a knife! Need to go shopping in a minute, so talk later!

I think it is harder to move away when it is a person on their own even if it is to be near family.I think I said not long ago that an old friend of Mum moved to Holt in Norfolk .She had been a widow for a number of years and one of her daughters persuaded her to move from her village in Somerset where she had lived for years.Poor Lady is desperate to move back .She has found it very difficult to meet people(even in her cul de sac). She is in her 80's now and is getting quite depressed because she hasn't sold her bungalow and therefore can't make that move. She really misses all her friends.
There is no sun here today .It's just Grey Grey Grey and chilly.Chester is in his bed snoring his blooming head off after his long walk with Chris.I think Chris is going to have a bonfire later.I do love the smell of a good bonfire.
My computer is sooooooooo slow today it is driving me nuts.
Frank I haven't been to Oakham in a long time.I t's a nice little place isn't it. I can just picture you sat there like 'Lord Muck' waiting for your Brunch lol
I do hope Mandy and Sheila are alright .Not normal not to hear from Mandy for so long.

The girls are fuffing around, the time they get out it will be time to come home. WOMAN !!!!!
Conrad and I will have a nice peaceful afternoon, playing on our computers, or me reading my Ebook. Might pop round the pub for a couple, it's two minutes away.
Horrible day here now, misserley rain, and bitter cold.
They have just left.12 55pm. God knows what time they will be home. Conrad told them to collect the Indiad on the way home !!!!
Liz, please don't worry about your daughters reaction, she will come round to it. Whats 50 odd miles When I was a rep. I was doing 60,000 miles a year.
I trust you are all getting your jobs done, so you can relax tomorrow. I feel as though I am on holiday. Haven't lifted a fingure yet !!!

I'm often called Lady Muck here Frank lol.My tea mug has Lady of the Manor on it too.
I just looked out the window a few minutes ago and saw Chris lying on the ground. He had just fallen of the ladder while he was using the electric trimmer thing .He hadn't put the ladder up properly !!!!.Then he came in to say he has cut through the wire !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I give up lol.You say WOMEN Frank.....I say MEN!!!!!!. It is now drizzling here too. I have finally got the slow cooker on with pork ,shallots, mushrooms ,white wine and strips of thick bacon. Will add cream at the end.
I think I am going to have to be on watch here .(looking out).I don't fancy any trip to A&E with Mr Clumsy lol. I have my appointment through for my eyes.........June 15th!!!!!,and also my next mammogram April the something. You just relax there Lord Muck and enjoy your weekend.

Afternoon All and Lords and Ladies,
We have that drizzle here now too. I'm staying in, but OH has gone to the match and then to his parents for tea.
Jane what is it with our men!! They are out of sight for a few minutes and .... disaster. lol I love your mug!!! That is quite a wait for your eye appointment isn't it.
I and OH were tottering around this morning with sore calves and me with a few knee twinges, paying for our climb up and around the quarry yesterday. They are shallow steps which is easier for me but I had to stop a few times on the way up to catch my breath.....excuse to look at the view. lol I think we ought to do it once a week now to get a bit fitter. We can't easily get to the place we usually walk around the parkland, the 2 roads where you would normally travel the few miles to it both have bridges they are working on both at the same time!! Typical, it is causing so much chaos with the traffic at rush hour they have had to stop work on one till the other is finished in a fortnight. One is a railway bridge being widened the other a repair.

I often stand to look at the view Ann lolol.(whilst gasping) and trying to look cool and calm. I am looking out the window and seeing smoke BILLOWING .Good job it is not the weather for people having washing hanging out.No doubt Chris will be stood right next to his bonfire. He will smell wonderful won't he.
Yes a long time for my eye appointment.I have wondered about looking at private. But the lady I spoke to said the consultant would look at my referral and if it seemed urgent would have me in sooner.I just hope I don't worry and fret for the next 3 months lol

My OH does miss his bonfires!! He would be very envious of Chris Jane. He used to love cutting the conifers back so he could have a lovely pine scented bonfire and boy doesn't conifer sap give a good blaze. He would tinker away with it with a long stick for ages, even when it got dark, then be out first thing the next morning to check if it was still going!! I remember one blowy day he scorched and nearly set fire to one of the conifer hedges and the big shed. After that I made him take the hose down the garden when he lit a fire, just in case!! Sadly for him our deeds say we can't light fires here.
Yes we worry if an appointment comes through very quickly..... and if it is a long time! As you say, they can't consider it to be very urgent which is good, so best to try and put it out of your mind for now when you can.
I do hope our Mandy is ok and that the antibiotics have done the trick.
I wonder if Frank is having a doze!! He is very quiet.

Ann I think Men just love bonfires and BBQs !!!!....It's a MAN thing.I am sure it must come from the cavemen days lolol.I always worry that he will set light to something, because he does tend to chuck fuel on and the flames just shoot up. I can't remember having bonfires in the garden when I was little but I'm pretty sure Dad had them.I was probably kept out of harms way.

West Ham won 3-0 today.
Hi maid Marion, Haven't seen you around lately. I have sent you a load of DVDs of UPSTAIRS AND DOWNSTAIRES" and LARKRISE TO CANDLEFORD" Ros thought you might enjoy them, hope yo do. They went by AIR yesterday, so don't know how long it takes to get to Canada. Not to long I hope.
Jane, I thought it was against the law, to have fires in the garden before DUSK. I know it is around here.(BLISWORTH) Are you a law breaker ???together with all your other missdemeanors(spelling wrong i'm sure)
Shirl, Don't paint us all with the same brush. Some are thicker than others lol lol
Hows our Liz today ??? a little calmer I hope,
Trust all of you haven't grown WEB feet today. What a difference from yesterday.

Afternoon or is it evening , atishooo, there I go again. no not got a cold, but spent all the morning going round Glasgow with OH looking for long sleeve shirts and short sleeve shirts & T. shirts for him in SLIM FIT because he cycles so much he does not put on much weight and all his regular shirts are like tents on him. but slim fit in very hard to find because the average man wheres regular.
After we finely found some ,we went for lunch then came home and I have spent the afternoon going through his wardrobe and sorting out the old shirts and putting them in a bag to go in the loft, then this is why I am sneezing I have been sorting out cupboards that have millions of unused ties, belts scarfs, gloves, I have been very ruthless and then asked OH to sort out what he has not worn for the last year, I then have thrown out or got them ready for charity shop. It gives you a great feeling to see empty bags & boxes, wonder how long it will take him to fill them all up again.lol

Mel ,have a few glasses of your RED and I'm sure you will sleep like a baby lol By morning you will be used to a new bed and surroundings.
Shirl ,it sounds like you are having a time of it ,with being gassed and dodgy windows .Plus all that paperwork to sort through lol.I quite like the sound of your Beef barley soup
Ann ,what fab(showing my age saying that) pics.Love Robin. What an amazing quarry. You certainly visit some interesting places.
Frank ,everyone seems to have bonfires around here.Maybe it is because the gardens are so long and a long way from the houses.I would never break the law !!!!!!!!.I'm a good girl as you know lol

Did I ever tell you this true story. In 1994 my Mother was was taken suddenly ill, very ill. She was admitted to Newcastle General Hospital ICU A relative knocked me out of a night's sleep to in inform me. I'd been on night shift the night beforeGot to ICU with my brother and my wife. The ward sister switched off the monitors she was hooked up to and informed us that Mother was dead. In shock and in grief I gripped Mother's left ankle willing her to hold on.
One night I slept restlessly with troubled dreams. I awoke the next morning and was astonished to find bruises on my left ankle like finger marks as though I'd been gripped tightlyIt was a physical impossibility for me to have done this myself and the only other person in the room was my wife Is there an explanation?
