Morning David and all
No worries David. How is the house going.Have you heard from the chap who has viewed twice?

It is a filthy wet morning.I had the dog walk as Chris working.I wasn't out for long and have had to change my jeans as they got soaked.
Anyone got snow? I thought you may have some David.

Liz did Ian have a better night again??

I slept like a log last night but had to get up twice as we had rice last night and it dos'nt hold any water. I had drunk two big glasses!

What a morning, !!! Rain ,rain , and more rain. Cold with it. Anyway GOOD MORNING MY LITTLE TADPOLES !!!!

Ros had a good night, slight ache, but not the pain like before. Fingers crossed !!! Shw would insist on going to see her friend, Sat shopping trip. to Morris###. I didn't want her to go, but you know what you woman are like !!!! make up your mind and no stopping you.

Lewis and his Mum and Dad up for dinner tomorrow. Turkey crown with all the trimmings. He will stay with us all week.

Rutland Son, down in Torquay this weekend visiting Jan's family. I think the weater is better south, that we are having here.

Have finally sorted out car insurance. They wanted a copy of Ros's driving licence. That's a new one, never been asked for it in 50 odd years of motoring. Only ever for Company cars. She sent a copy of the card, now they want the paper counterpart, she managed to find that this morning, Will get a copy and send it on. Another job done !!!!

That's great for Ros Frank.Maybe the ache will gradually wear off.
I am just about to take Chris to the funeral and then pop to Tes**.I don't know how long the service will take.It is Catholic and i think the service is longer than other churches.Once I pick him up I am going to light this fire.I don't like to go out when it is lit even though there is a good guard.

Forgot to say the B###### alarm clock went off again at 6.15am. I couldn't get beck to sleep so go up. Called Ros at 9.15, for her shopping trip.

Thinking of walking up to the club to see Chelsea v Everton. Then two more matches on ITV this afternoon. Will be laid out in the conseratory, out of the way. Very rare to have so much football on TV on Sat afternoon.

Done all the Veg for dinner tomorrow, so just the gravy and cheese sauce tomorrow. and of course cook it !!! Serve it up, Wash up and dry, and put it away !!! Will use the big steamer for most of the Veg, save saucepans and room on the hob.

Just going to hoover through and throw a duster around before she gets home.

Hi Snow Baby lol.Lets hope you don't get too much more Shirl. You must be sick of it now.It is a horrible afternoon here ,very misty and dark.
Chris has spent the last hour sorting my computer to enable me to enter my Owl photo for that competition, but it seemed so complicated I have got him to put it back the way it was .I will forget about the competition lol.Maybe next year.

Chris said the Church was full over an hour before the funeral began, and people were standing 3 deep in the aisles, plus using the choir stalls, the Gallery and the Lady Chapel(I don't know what that is). In the Order of service there are lots of photos of John ,many with his boys from when they were little until now.

I thought of something this morning...........Gumption .I'm sure mum had a tin of this stuff .I think it might have been for cleaning the bath or something.
I seem to think it would be scooped out of the tin with a cloth and rubbed on whatever it was that needed cleaning.

I don't know where today has gone.I don't seem to have got anything done.

I remember Gumption, well the name anyway. Again can't think what it was used for.

Have just cleaned out two chickens house and now I'm pooped!

Can't think what to do for dinner tonight........................shall have to go and dive sown the freezer. It nearly swallows me up!!

I can remember me and my friend cleaning a bath with a pink cream out of a deep tin Jane. I think that was called Chemico. It was like C*f only pink. I can remember often being told to use my gumption.!! lol The name does seem familiar though!

Annx Report 19 Feb 2011 17:42

Shirl, it is much colder where you are and MORE snow. Has any of the old snow melted yet? We have deep pink alpine tulips in flower now. The cordylines are still shedding leaves and I think all the tips have gone now. OH is convinced they will die, but I'm hopeful as the lower leaves are still green.

Shame about the competition Jane.......can you not just e-mail it?

Where is our Mandy, she's not posted for a day or 2......hope her cough and cold are better.

Jane

Jane Report 19 Feb 2011 17:59

Ann that was the problem It wasn't straight forward emailing the photo.I can't explain it lol.
You don't think Mandy has trouble with the computer because of whatever she was having done the other day.She was waiting for her son to sort something out I seem to remember.

I have a feeling that GUMPTION cream was pink.I was always told to Use my Gumption lol.I think it was used a bit like Vim to clean the bath etc.I remember wiping it around the tide line lol. It's all coming back to me now.

Oh yes I think it was her e-mails she couldn't send........maybe her pooter isn't behaving at all now!

Think I will go and find something to eat too. OH will have got himself something and probably won't be back till about 9.00pm.

My parents swore by elbow grease.
They didn't have much, but it was clean.
I recall my Mother black leading the fire grate and donkey stoning the thresh outside the front door, and scrubbing the floors.

Depending on what I'd been up to my Mother would call me,
number one son,
brain child,
or gormless.

An offer has been made and accepted on our house.
We made an offer that was accepted on a bungalow.
Ellen changed her mind on it as it had stairs so we dropped out of it.

Jane

Jane Report 19 Feb 2011 18:39

I was number 1 daughter ,because I was the eldest and my sister number 2.She hated being called that lol.Fiona calls her daughters No1 and No2 too.
If my Nana was alive she would be disgusted with me and my grate.I have never done anything with it.Naughty me!
I do remember Mum telling me that her and her sister had their jobs to do before school each morning.Mum's was to black lead something. And it had to be done properly.I don't know what my Auntie's job was.
David ,I bet you were Number 1 or Brain Child.Never gormless lol

I hope Sheila is recovering from her Heart Attack.

Annx Report 19 Feb 2011 18:48

Oh David......you got so close as well!! All will not be lost if you find another place quickly, you don't want to lose your buyer. Have you tried looking on the internet as many estate agents have their property on there now. Ellen is probably being sensible as everything is much easier without stairs, even a bungalow......best to get the right one.

David

David Report 19 Feb 2011 20:03

Ann,the bungalow we dropped out of had stairs going up to a boarded out attic made into 2 small rooms.

Your'e spot on,we don't want to lose our buyer.
We might even end up renting for a while if push comes to shove.

Brain child?
I'd like to think I was a love child :)
