I didn't get your pics Maureen. :-( I have those messages when I send to Pat, so what I do now is open the 'sent' message to everyone and just forward it to her afterwards and it works then! :-S
I have ordered some new Wellies!! :-D Short, wide foot ones with a buckle on the side......just hope they will fit. lol.
Those were interesting icicles William. I loved the snow piled on the weather vane, you couldn't put it on there yourself like that if you tried.
My sister, who has osteoarthritis and is recovering from MRSA, has found out she has Diabetes as well now and that her liver is not functioning properly. I am amazed she keeps so positive, but her little grandson, now talking and racing about seems to be keeping her spirits up which is good.
Our bins are out now for tomorrow..........Hopefully they should be collected. There is a lot of stuff in them now as we have been sorting more cupboards and drawers today!! OH has been through some of his clothes while I finished in the kitchen. I have decided I am a hoarder of empty boxes and plastic containers.....far too many!!

Frank, our car was covered with snow like that again this morning too.
Jake is much better now , i don't know if he has been out yet they were away from school again today with all the snow .
Ann, two more lovely necklaces :-) our road was covered with snow like that we could see the tarmac until we had a snow shower a while ago !!
Hubby has just arranged with son to start work again tomorrow ,weather permitting !! lets hope we don't have any more snow so he can go, he's getting bored now and lets just say a bit snappy !!

Mandy we were surprised to see the big shovel things at work in the field today. I suppose they are subbies so don't want to be idle as they may have only have a certain time before they need to move on to other work they have. It must be a nightmare planning outdoor work with bad weather.
I'm turning in now, OH is already on his way. We don't seem to have done all that much today, but this weather seems to be tiring! lol. I hope Frank doesn't sieze up with stiff muscles tomorrow after that nasty fall. I bet the bruises will be tender. Nighty night. x

I did'nt get Maureen's pics so can someone please pass them on.
Thanks to Frank, Ann and William for your snow pics and also Ann for the lovely necklesses once again. You are a clever girl doing all that wire work.
I did watch Mr S last night but still think it is getting a bit silly.
Heavy frost out tonight and we can see stars and the moon!!
Did'nt go shopping just went up and got a few bits in the local shop and picked up Saturdays paper.
Made a toad in the hole for dinner tonight with cumberland chip sausages. roast teddies and parsnips broccoli and sprouts. I think it has given me a bit of indigestion.
Off to watch Ripper Street now on Replay and time team.
Night night........... <3

Sounded like it was raining last night but theres another 4 inches of snow or sleet on top of what was already there.
Should be fun and games for the bin me if they get here.
Did I mention not long after we moved into this bugalow I haerd a noise at the rear where I park my car.
Went ot to have a look see and some shy te has turned all 3 of my bins over. They were lying side by side, three as one like, well away from the wall.
Do you think some one was making a statement?

Morning All and Evening Kim,
We had a little snow last night after a hard frost and then it melted within an hour! There is a very small sprinkling this morning.
Hope everyone is safely tucked up in their houses.
Frank how are you today? I hope your not too stiff after your nasty fall.

Thank you everyone for the photo's and I hope all are safe and sound! Have re-rung the Dentist this am and we are now both booked in for the 1st of Feb, Dentist for both and then hygenist for me, so three appointments for one trip!!! Just HOPE we can make it! I seem to be out on a limb here as I love Mr Selfridge! I admit I though this week's was a bit disjointed, but by and large we're thoroughly enjoying it. I have been doing a bit of research into him and he certainly was a flamboyant character and just the fact of him being an American didn't endear him at all to Edwardian England! - I love the evolment of the store and the subtle way of enticing people to 'buy'! and the shop window was just beautiful - so, a + for us! Actually it's a good evening what with 'Call the Midwife', Ripper Street, which for us, is okish, and Mr S to record for later. I love Miranda Hart in the 'midwife' but sadly I think her other programme is just plain silly and would never watch it, once was enough, such a pity. Milk Lorry has just been down to the farm, but, apart from one landrover, no one else has been around. Yesterday we walked to the shop to pick up a few odds and ends, apart from that we have just been keeping warm!! Today I'm planning a 'bake in'.

Jane your sons car may not necessarily be scrapped. These dealers have a way with cars.
I once "scrapped" a Honda Prelude I'd had a collision in. A month later I saw the same car on the road in Morpeth.

Forgot to say Ann that was a Dunnock in your photo.
Just filled up the peanut feeders came in and put everything away and there were 4 long tailed tits on thes. Reached for my camera and went to take a pic and they all flew away!! They see every movement through the windows.

I have been trying to ring the doctors for our prescriptions on the special number for that purpose. Could'nt get through so rang the surgery. I was informed that they have no electric today as they are replacing the poles!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a blimmin silly time to do it. Does this mean that all part of Shebbear has no electric today? I forgot to ask the girl that!!! It seems a silly thing to do in this weather and on a week day as the surgery is closed on a Saturday. Now I ask myself is it just the surgery?????????????

Afternoon all/night Kim.
Bruised like a piece of RAW MEAT. My shoulder blade and armpit is a right old mess. My Hip and thigh and getting realy colourfull. I have showered and shaved and have been sitting down all morning, but when I move, boy does it give me gip.
Ros was suppose to go to the nurse this morning, but we couldn't get the car off the drive. I have spread a bag of road salt all around the wheels and drive. So she might try again later to move the car. She had to make another appointment.
It seems that the bottom part of the close have taken to parking their cars outside. There are FOUR at the moment. It will make it difficult for people to reverse out of their garages/driveways.
Nice to see you are safe and sound Liz, and that you are all taking care of yourselves.
David, Your part of the Country are getting your fair share of the weather today and tomorrow, keep safe, and warm.
YES JANE DON'T SHOUT :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hello playmates - as Arthur Askey would have said. Ventured out today, first time since last Thursday. Had to take Carmel to the doctors. Got the car out of the lock-up OK and although the Close is covered with packed snow, no problems getting out onto the main road.
Parking was OK too and we found the inside edges of the pavements were clear of snow. However, the inside of our Health Centre looked like there had been a leak but the lady on reception said it was just from peoples footwear. It was the same in our pharmacy, it looked like someone had thrown a bucket of water over the floor.
We went from there to our local M*rrisons to top up on our shopping in case there is more white stuff on the way. The car park there was surprisingly clear considering. However, some of the selves inside looked like people had been stocking up for a seige!
Anyway, we are back home in the warm now and stocked up just in case. Also, made sure that there are ample provisions for our feathered visitors and I'm sure they are glad to see that I've got the bird bath free of ice and full of water once again. That is until it freezes over once more! Ah well, I do my best.
We were watching them yesterday, the tits were having a great time doing acrobatics between the oak and rowan trees. Robin is as cocky as ever but never stays long enough for me to get a photo of him.
Frank, my old mucker, so sorry to hear you are in the wars. You made me think how right I was this morning to keep a tight hold on Carmel as we negotiated the ice packed footpaths. I hope you are feeling better soon but if the bruises are coming out, that might be a good sign. At least it doesn't stop you keeping me smiling with all your emails - where on earth do you get them all from. One of the last ones did arrive with gif animations but no main content.
OK, I'm off for a little R&R now CYAL
