Waterbaby here :-D.LOL it that my nickname now?? I know I am the star sign for the crab and am supposed to love water but this is just getting ridiculous now :-S

Shirl I have a couple of pics of the kitchen but having not seen the mess it was in before I don't think it would really do justice. But I will try and send a couple(it won't be tonight though)

Ann it sounds like you were darned lucky not to get stranded in that water lol
Thanks for Mel's pics. Mel he certainly is a little untidy thing lolol

Oh William ,Carmel has certainly been through the mill.I hope tonight is a much easier night for you both .You both must be exhausted.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 21 Nov 2012 20:35

Thanks Ann I think I shall leave Shirl and Jane out next time I send pics so you can forward them for me.

Made oh a fish pie tonight and I had smoked haddock mash and sweetcorn. Oh took one look at his sweetcorn and said "what are all these pirates teeth doing on my plate?" Now everytime I see sweetcorn I shall think of that!!

:-S

Annx Report 21 Nov 2012 20:46

Oh Mel.....pirate's teeth....yuk......I'll think of that next time too! OH always calls lemon curd tarts 'dirty lad's earholes'.....puts me right off!! A girl at school used to call those flat biscuits with mashed raisins in the middle 'dead fly cemetries'.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 21 Nov 2012 22:11

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Wet and very windy here today.....................................but it is not that cold. We have no heating on.

Hope Frank has a good journey and enjoys his couple of days away.

My job for today is to clear a space in the lounge for the new hog cage so you won't see me much today. I really don't know where I am going to put everything that has to be moved.

Jane Report 22 Nov 2012 13:07

Afternoon All
My word this wind is getting strong :-S,and rain is on it's way :-S :-S.I see the house 4 doors along has the council drain/sewerage sucker outer and Dyn* Ro* is there too.I had a word with the chap there this morning and he said they were totally flooded(it is a bungalow). It is rented out so good for them I guess.
I have bought a load of bags of sand (couldn't get hessian ) and have put them all along the outside of the garage door.I just hope they aren't really needed.

I expect Frank will be blowing along at a rate of knots if the wind is behind him lol..I hope the weather improves for his couple of days away.

I am now just going to attempt this Lamb and Mint Pinwheel....Help!!!!!!! I have no idea how much mint to put in.I have dried and whole frozen mint leaves.Maybe I will use a bit of both.
BBL

David I have never eaten TRIPE.When I was young,my Mum and Sister would have it,but Dad and me always had mince and mash.......oh I can still smell that horrible tripe cooking.I think it was cooked in milk and onions. YUK YUK YUK :-P

Annx Report 22 Nov 2012 14:06

Afternoon Folks,

It's spitting with rain here now and the wind could blow your head off!! The local paper is full of flood pics and cars stranded in carparks.

I bet Frank is being blown to Hastings!! :-) Hope he has a nice break.

I am off to M*S to get my £5 for handing in 'something you don't wear anymore' and then into As*a close by to get a few bits.

BBL.......

I didn't know they gave you cash at M & S for unwanted clothes Ann.

Very windy here too but not very cold.

I bought a printer yesterday and something called an external cd drive, the one in the computer doesn't work. I nearly threw both through the window, couldn't get the cd drive to work and didn't know how to fit the printerhead and cartridges into the printer. Will have another look in a minute. Why can't things be more simple :-P

A little poem my dad was fond of:
It wasn't the cough that carried him off
It was the coffin they carried him off in.

Afternoon everyone,

It's a lovely sunny day here ,bit on the windy side though and by all accounts we should have the heavy rain over night ,and another nice day tomorrow.
Hope Frank gets some dry days while he's away

Glad to hear you didn't get flooded out Jane, i kept thinking about you wondering how things were going , is it flooded along your road ?or just the bungalow ?

Tripe !!! not for me i'am afraid , hubby's mum use to like Chitterlings !! he said they use to stink the house out when they were cooked :-S :-S

Lasagne for tea tonight ,all made and ready for the oven , now i must get some ironing done .

Mandy it was the front drives affected by the water yesterday. The bungalow being the first in the row is the first to get a deluge off the field(There must some drainage problem between the field and them I think)Maybe the council should come and check the culvert and ditch which is like a wide channel .It is no doubt choc a bloc with debris.I know the council are in charge of the public footpath that runs along side the bungalow(they never cut back the branches etc :-S) But their responsibility might end there. It could be one of these little bits of land that no-one owns up to owning.
The water yesterday reached next door .I'm just so worried that with more rain forecast tonight that it could happen again and this time tip over into our drive(we are slightly lower ,which is no help. :-S.Hopefully the bags `i have packed along the garage door will help if it does happen.
I can't believe you have had a sunny day.You lucky beggar. It has been foul all day here.

I didn't know about the money back thing for unwanted clothes at M&*.Is is just their own make that you can take in Ann?If it is I can have a rifle through my wardrobe lol.

This wind is scaring Chester. It keeps making a racket down the chimney in big gusts.

I have always liked that rhyme Maureen ,It just trips off the tongue nicely too doesn't it :-D

David Report 22 Nov 2012 16:32

Mareen, don't get upset by your new printer.
The way the carteidges go in is different to your previos one.
The new printer will have its software to install as will the external drive.

I just had a phone call from Rachel(Dubai). In a terrible old state.I did say it was nice to hear from her and that I had hoped to hear from her a long time ago.But then I realised that she really was upset and so I said that we would discuss all that happened another time.Asked her why she was in tears.......Darren has moved out(again).Big huge arguements etc.
She said one thing and that was what I said here when she was kicking off.I said"What on earth are you doing to your little boy" She said those words stuck in her head, and I said that seeing him caught up in all the nastiness upset me more than anything.I just hope they do the right thing (whatever that might be).But I kept the call short as I am not getting drawn into all that poo now.
What a load of Tripe!!!! remember people saying that

:-D :-D

Well, after spending most of the afternoon trying to install the wretched printhead in the computer I have been round and round the helplines and finally got to talk to someone in India, outcome is he says it's a faulty printhead and I now have to box the whole thing up and take it back to Cu**ys for a replacement printer. ***/////****@@@@@ Why can't life be simple. Plug it in switch it on and away you go.

Think I'll pour myself a glass of wine, switch off all this technology and read my book. :-P

Poor Maureen.................. these things are sent to try us, as my dad who say.

It has been very very wet with lshing rain and great gusty winds all day. My bantam house blew up and off the blocks it was standing on. Oh trie dto put a block on the roof to hold it down but it needs a new roof and he had to put it on the corner and hope for the best! They are all in there now so I hope it stay put. The big chickens have been in their house most ofthe day and are absolutly soaked. They can't stand up when the wind blows :-S

We did get hogwarts ark indoors. It only just went through the front door! stand and all. Spent most of this afternoon sorting that out and charged it up with plenty of newspaper and stripped newspaper for his or her bed. Lifted up his cardboard box and he had his little nose right in the corner so I picked it up (not his nose the hedgehog) and it rolled into a ball and I popped it in the bedroom bit with his head pointing towards the nestbox. Oh asked me if I had him round the right way...... silly fool of course I did :-| :-| :-|

He has his bunny bottle on the wire but I have put a bowl under it incase it leaks.

The rain has been coming down our road in torrents and oh had to take the cover off the small drain outside the kitchen as leaves kept blocking it up and we had a riverlet running past the back steps.

There have been a lot of trees down in the Westcountry today but the weatherforcast for tomorrow is better so lets hope we have seen the last of it for a day or two. BUT IT IS NOT COLD and I hav'nt got the heating on. It is very wierd..........

Oh Jane and with another baby too what is that girl doing. She is bound to be down just after having the baby and now another row!! You would really think that chap would understand a bit more after the first baby. She should never have married him in the first place........

Poor girl and so far away from England too.....

Jane

Jane Report 22 Nov 2012 18:23

Well Mel I think your little housemate will be very grateful he/she is indoors and out of this dreadful weather.Lap of luxury :-D

I just give up on those 2 in (Dubai).I have lost patience now with them ,even though I just feel so sorry that Rachel is dealing with Ethan and a new Baby with big reflux trouble (the same as Ethan had). They just both need to realise the damage they will be doing to the children if they don't get their act together and separate.
I am not going to loose sleep over it anymore(says me ...of course I will :-S :-S)

Well have we all battened down the hatches????.I hope Frank arrived in Hastings ok.

Maureen .I would have another glass of wine if I were you lol..Life is never straight forward when it comes to technical stuff :-S
