Yes, thanks for posting for Fiona, Mr F. Let's hope the appointment comes through soon and they can help Fiona. No joke having headaches all this time.
Mel, I nearly posted about Richard 111 before, but was waiting to see the outcome!! The carpark where they have been digging is just a stones throw from the grammar school I went to and near the Cathedral, an old part of the city. The local paper says they found a leg bone after just one day of digging, before they found evidence of the church, but stayed tight lipped about it till a few days ago. The head was cleaved in, by some sort of bladed implement they think, a barbed arrowhead was buried in the upper back vertebrae and excitingly, the spine showed probable scoliosis or curvature. They say the arrowhead would be from battle and more significant than the head injury as people were always getting bashed in the head in those times. The body was shrouded and in a weird position, possibly suggesting burial in haste. They are now doing DNA tests with his last living relative, a Michael Ibsen. The tests should take up to 12 weeks. The bones, after getting a license, have been moved to a secret, safe place. They are allowing 'viewing' of the site again this weekend so we may go and have a look. It will be packed with people though. There is a bridge, school and road named after him in the city. If it is him, I just hope he stays in the city.

I found an old film wallet in my Dads old tin document chest that came into my possesion after he died. There a load of negatives in it and it wasn't easy to make out what was on them so I took them into our local chemists photo lab to have them developed. What a time warp. Going back into the late 50's and 60's, myself and various relatives popped out of the grey negatives to come alive and live another day. What memories they conjure up, what dresses and mens wear. My old Vespa scooter with us on board ready for the journey back from Chadwell Heath to Nuneaton. Gosh, did we really travel all that way by scooter. My daughter as a tiny little infant with my Mum & Dad's dog in their back garden at Chadwell Heath, hard to believe. The original cost of getting them done was 8s 3d according to the wallet, todays cost - £8.00. Of course, when I took them in I didn't think to ask how much it would be. Never mind, you can't put a price on memories.
Anyone else come accross any treasure trove?

I bet the girls will be ready for bed very early and with no trouble tonight Mandy!! lol. Well that's one gift I've never had....a loaf! lol Oh, you are quite close to Sandringham! I must confess neither OH nor me had a clue where in Norfolk it was till we looked on the map. I thought it was more the south west bit of Norfolk, handy for London. :-S We saw a decorative little Lodge when we came away, might be the same one you mentioned. I can imagine the Rhododendrons would look beautiful in flower. I loved the paintings of the dogs too and the princes' little pedal cars. I've made a note of the other place you mention.......we are NT members so it would be free admission. We saw the last flowers on some of the Lavender fields. I wonder how long they have grown it there?
Frank, my email address is still the same? I wonder which email didn't reach me.......probably a hiccup somewhere :-S The film was Hope Springs, starring Meryl Streep. It is about a couple who have grown apart and who go for counselling. The acting was brilliant, but it wasn't as funny as we thought it would be.
We nipped in M&S to buy some food afterwards and couldn't believe what happened at the tills. We were next in the queue and a member of staff was trying to make us use the self serve ones. When OH declined she said, 'oh go on, why not be brave' loud enough for everyone to hear!! He uses self serve tills more often than me so how rude and patronising!! :-0 OH was livid and slung the goods across the card reader too fast for it deliberately so she had to come and sort it out and then walked off to the usual tills telling her to just bring the stuff over. Then when I paid by credit card, with no problems, the assistant there said 'well done' to me. I was quite taken aback and as we walked out I said to OH 'Do we have 'Stupid,' or 'Lost our Marbles' tattooed across our foreheads?' :-S :-S
Jane, I often get caught out like that too!! lol. Two or three of them start on different windows here, so you daren't run to other rooms. There are net curtains on the front, but close up you can see through them. A few times when I have heard their radio first I have grabbed clothes and dressed in the middle hall which has no windows. I know once there was no time and I had to lie on the floor next to the bed till I was sure they had finished the front and gone around the back!!! :-0 lol.

How blooming exciting is that Ann :-D I did see something about it the other night.
I rang Fiona a little while ago .She was thrilled with all her cards and wishes.Especially the 2 hand painted ones.( I think you both know who I mean) :-D :-D And Liz she says thankyou for your wishes too.She was a little confused as to who LilyL was lol.She hadn't realised you had changed your board name .I have put her straight now :-D
How disgusting is it that topless photos of Kate have been published.Chris said maybe the window cleaner got one of me !!!!!!!!!!!!.I don't think that would have been put to press lolol.Seriously though how sad that William and Kate can't have a few private moments together chilling out with out peeping toms with long lens cameras invading their space.( it gets my goat) :-S. That is my grumble of the day out of the way :-D Off to check the oven now.

It's good that Fiona was cheered by our cards and good wishes.......it must be quite depressing for her not feeling well all the time. :-)
William I love those little girls' hats like that.....so cute!! What a find getting those photos and wondering what was on them all!!
Hear, hear Jane.......private is private.......I know what I would do with their long lenses!!!!! :-D You should have told Chris you would have been 'centrefold'. lol. :-D
I'm off to bed now, slept well last night, so hopefully I will tonight too.....

As an ordinary idiot at school, I was very proud one day when the Headmaster upgraded me to 'blithering idiot' during an awkward science question & answer session. It made me many friends & sustained me in rare moments of subsequent self-doubt.
But perhaps my old master might disagree all these years later. He is the happy recipient of my annual birthday & Christmas wishes. It's the least I might do.

Hello Dermot...Nice to see you here on this thread :-D I ring my old headmaster and have a good old yarn every now and then.He was my Primary School Head.I always think it is so funny that I call him John now instead of Mr.Eaglestone.He still remembers things from way back then at school.More tales about my sister than me .I was the good one and she was the minx :-D

Hi Dermot. I remember names that our teachers were fond of using for us were 'numbskull' and 'dunderhead'. At least we kids were united and in good company with our stupidity weren't we. :-S Then of course we had our secret, equally uncomplimentary names for the teachers too. :-D

Morning All and Evening Kim,
So nice to here from Fiona's oh. Thanks for letting us all know how she is getting on, or not as the case may be. Do give her all my love and wishes. Hoping it won't be too long now before they sort these headaches out for her.
Ann smashing that they accually found some bones in the car park and it was'nt a waste of time as they thought the bones may have been moved a long while ago and th ere would be nothing to find. I would have loved to have had a look at the site. I love time team but get so annoyed when you get the breaks and then they say all the same thing again after each adverts. Why do we always have to see the faces of the team so much and when you get a good find they only flash it up on the screen for a few seconds and it's gone and you have'nt had a really good look at it. Surely it would be better to show the find and listen to the chatter in the background and be able to see it properly. It seems to be the same with all these kind of programs.
Well I have been up since 20 to 7 as oh came flying in the bedroom and told me to dress quickly and come outside in the garden. I was so surprised but did as he said. When I got out the back door there was oh putting on his thick leather gardening gloves and then he pointed to my pond. I thought one of the koi had jumped out of his pond at first and he needed help in picking it up or something, but no there in the mesh around my new pond was a lovely little owl who must have flown down and got caught in the fishing line oh put across the top to stop the heron landing in the pond. He/she was so cute with such huge eyes and when it blinked you could see the inner eyelid go acros it's eyes. Oh held it while I cut the fishing line away from both it's wings, then when we had released it from the netting to which it was clinging, he held it on one side and then the other for me to get the line off it's wings. Then I rushed in to get my camera and he let me take a couple of picks while he held it and then released it across the orchard. I tried to get a coupe more hsots but they came out blurred. Then as it disappeared into the hedge the blackbirds started shouting their heads off. This carried on for sometime as it must have been resting up and drying out. It was very wet when we recued it. Wings were soaking and I had a bit of a job to unwind the fishing line from it's wings.

I'm with you Jane over the royal photos'. I think it's quite disgraceful that a married couple can't sunbathe as they please in the privacy of where they are staying without prying eyes, who, lets face it are determined to get THAT photo!!!! They must be worried about a camera in their bedroom!! Mind you, if people didn't read it then editors wouldn'tprint it, so you could say that the public at large are partly to blame! All I know is that Catherine made one terminally ill little boy's day so much brighter, and judging by that she would seem to be a lovely person, so why would anyone wish to embarress her, particularly on tour in a Muslim country! really tacky and unkind! Perhaps the europeans should ressurect their own royal families, then they could leave ours ALONE!! Thank you for telling Fiona who I am Jane, no confusion in the future!

Afternoon everyone,
Been out to lunch today ,we went early as the little ones came with us and they were good as gold.
Lovely and sunny here ,have put two lots of washing out .
I agree about the photo's too ,should never have been printed , i read some that they were taken by a photographer about a mile away from them , they should be able to have some private life ,i just hope they don't hound her like they did Diana.
Oh Mel, good thing hubby was up and about early , the poor owl getting tangled up in the netting like that ,i wonder how long he had been there .
Mel, i think As*a still sell Cherry B .

Afternoon everyone,
A sunny, but cool day here.
A belated Happy Birthday to Fiona for yesterday, although I did post on her wall on fb. and sent a card. It was so good of her OH to let us know how she is doing.
Mandy I hope little Lacey's tummy comes good with the new formula. Her poor little bottom must be so sore. I had the same sort of problems when I was a baby; my mum had me at the doctor all the time trying this and that.
I went to pick up my new sunnies on Thursday; they fit perfectly. I was so lucky to find these frames. Then we went and had a cuppa and cake with my elderly friend Sylvia. Had not seen her since June, so lovely to catch up on all the news.
Also saw my daughter on check out duty at Wool**s. After we left the shopping centre a fellow took off with a cash bag containing over $1000. Daughter gave chase and grabbed him by the collar and got it back, then had to be interviewed by the police. An impulsive move on her part as he could have been armed, but at least they got their money back. I don't know, all the customers love her. She must just be a home devil. ;D
We had Joy up yesterday for a cuppa only using one stick. She is a stubborn old biddy. I always have a laugh with her, but she is such a worry.
Met daughter's new boyfriend Ethan yesterday afternoon. He is verrrry tall and slim with lovely dark curly hair and brown eyes. He is not a well lad, some genetic problems involving his heart. He was so nervous you could see the sweat; I think we all were. I like him far better than Jacob and he seems genuine enough. He adores Miranda; you can just see it. He also came for dinner tonight at short notice, but that was okay. He is getting to know us a little better.
I was so upset to see those private photos of William and Kate plastered on the front page. Why can't they just leave them in peace?? :(( I remember what it was like for Diana, but Kate seems to handle the press and her engagements with such finess. She is a lovely girl. I hope the palace tightens up security so this doesn't happen again.
Thank you to everyone who has been emailing photos. I am enjoying them all.
Hope Sheila is alright after her trip.
I am off to the couch for some viewing. Have a happy afternoon all. 11.07 pm AEST
Jane had a real giggle at your tale of the window cleaners. I have had that happen in my working days when I used to go into the rest room to change into my uniform. I had to hop into my locker a couple of times until they had moved on. I thought being 5 floors up I would have been fairly safe. :-S
