Frank Report 12 Sep 2012 22:32

Evening all,

Glad to have you almost back William. Keep your eye on Jane. She's trouble. lol lol

How did you get on with your troublr David. Sorted I hope.

I put in some bulbs on Sunday, Still got a bag full of Daffs to put in plus a couple of dozen tulips. Including the "ICE CREAM" ones.

Sat and watchedc Mrs Biggs tonight. When you think back it was a lot of money, but by todays robbery's, it was "PEANUTS"

I meet Ronney Knight and his wife Sue,when we were in Spain one year. He had a party in the bar we used for his birthday. All his THUGS from London came over, they were covered in gold chains and rings. and had rolls of £50 notes in their pockets. Who said crime dosen't pay ;-) ;-) ;-)

Our sweet peas didn't have one flower on this year. Must have been duff seeds. I water and fed them, and kept them in the greenhouse till they were strong enough to come out. Then they just wilted away.

Ros's dad used to grow chryanths, he would put broom handles in a row, with the tiny plants beside each one. When Ros was a little girl one of her freinds ask "WHY DOES YOUR DAD GROW BROOM HANDLES"

Well I'm off to the bedroom for a read, before I get my head down, hope I sleep better tonight. Goodnight All.

It is a beautiful morning.Lots of blue sky :-D.But a real nip in the air first thing.

I think the Alsastion next door must be teenager now as I think his voice has broken :-D.I heard him barking this morning and it was deeper than it was before we went away lolol

Off for a coffee and get some washing in.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Yes a lovely day here too. Plenty of the yellow stuff and the blue stuff.

Oh was up at 5.30 and looking at the stars. He said they were so clear this morning and he watched the sun chase the moon away.

I member Mr Crocadile Ann and children do still play Whats the Time Mr. Wolf.

Frank you had better take it easy today and get plenty of rest. They do say you don't need as much sleep as you get older. I do........ ;-)

Glad I am not the only one to buy bulbs and not get them in. Frank puts me to shame when he tells us how many he has bought and planted.

Mandy the secret with the sweet peas is to tae all the side shoots out but this year I have not done that as they are in the tunnel. If you do take the side shoots out and grow them by tying them to the canes and cutting off all thier tendrils you get more flowers on a stem. I have grown them outside up on the south wall on huge canes that oh put up for me (55 plants) and had 5 flowers to a stem but occasionly have had 6 and 7 like grandad did. Plenty of horse exhaust under their roots too. trouble is it is an every day job to tie them in and take their shoots out.

I am quite pleased with my pumpkin plant this year as I have 6 fruits on it of a good sellable size.

Just found myself singing this, does anyone remember it?

Poppa picalina Poppa picalina

He plays so prettyly upon his concertina,

Poppa Picalina of sunny Italy.

Shall have to see if I can find the right words...............................

was just getting the washing on the line.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 13 Sep 2012 12:10

Found it!!!!!! just shows how wrong you can be :-S :-S

POPPA PICCOLINO
(Vittorio Mascheroni / Bob Musel / Mario Panzeri / Giuseppe Rastelli)

Diana Dekker

Also recorded by : Petula Clark; Mantovani.

All over Italy they know his concertina
Poppa Piccolino, Poppa Piccolino,
He plays so prettily to every signorina
Poppa Piccolino from sunny Italy

Oh listen to the music I hear
Oh. Poppa Piccolino is near
To win a smile or maybe a tear
Before travelling on

A vagabond who wanders along
A millionaire, but only in song
As though the world
Might really belong to him

This fellow plays a melody so mellow
That everyone keeps shouting "Bello, Bello"

All over Italy they know his concertina
Poppa Piccolino, Poppa Piccolino,
He plays so prettily to every signorina
Poppa Piccolino from sunny Italy

No matter what the calendars show
It can't be spring, and I ought to know
Until I hear him singing "'allo, `allo I'm here again"

A flower in his battered old hat
And a smile for every doggie and cat
And children get the friendliest pat of all

I'll give his name so if you ever meet him
Then you will know exactly how to greet him

All over Italy they know his concertina
Poppa Piccolino, Poppa Piccolino,
He plays so prettily to every signorina
Poppa Piccolino from sunny Italy

(Spoken)
Everybody loves Poppa Piccolino. He has the cutest little monkey to
collect the lira. But one day Poppa Piccolino was very sad. He lost
his concertina, and he couldn't find it anywhere, and there was no
music, and everyone was very unhappy. But the little monkey found it
for him and gave it back to Poppa Piccolino, and now everybody is
happy again.

All over Italy they know his concertina
Poppa Piccolino, Poppa Piccolino,
He plays so prettily to every signorina
Poppa Piccolino from sunny Italy
(Fading)
Sunny Italy, Sunny Italy.

Thanks Mel,
That will be stuck in my brain all day. Last night in bed I was trying to remember the words to "Streets of London" That played on my mind. I looked it up when I weas up at 2.30 this morning. Finally went to bed at 4.30 am slept till 8.00. Feel like a wet week now.
It's nice outside this morning, I have moved the bird feeding station onto the lawn, as it was too close to the bungalow, and no birds came to visit.

Ros, is out in the front garden this morning, tidying around and putting more bulbs in. We must stop buying them, there can't be much more room for them to go. ;-) ;-)

Have found some old photo's in the garage. One of me at a Managers meeting at Vauxhall Motors, and anothert of me selling my 1st day covers in 19## Will try to cop[y and send on to you. I haven't changed a bit !!!

Trust you are all well and over your holidays Jane and Shelia. Where's our Kim ??? Hope she's well.

Mel I don't think I know that song.Maybe if I heard the tune I may recognise it.
Love your Pics Frank :-D :-D

Maureen I had Chris's car for a while this afternoon so the Discs are now on the way to you.

I have had the Gasman out as the pump in the airing cupboard packed up :-S.It just needed resetting :-D The young lad was so obese the backside of his trousers were almost down to his thighs.I tell you the sight when he bent over made my eyes water. His tummy hung right down the front of his thighs. He could barely get up the stairs as he was so out of breath.I would have loved to suggest he wore some braces to keep the trousers up if for no other reason than just to cover his modesty and to save his customers getting a shock. It really was unpleasant to see the whole of his bum.He has been here before so when I saw him get out of the van I knew what to expect lol.

Now the big decision of the day. What to have for dinner. It is either Steak ,Chips, stuffed Mushrooms ,runner beans and peas.Or Cod Mornay Fishcakes,Parmentier Potatoes and a microwave dish of mixed veg.I couldn't eat a thing right now as I had a late Cheese on toast for lunch.Lets hope Chris doesn't want to eat too early.

I hope Fiona is feeling well enough to enjoy her Birthday tomorrow <3.

No Sheila yet!!!.Lets hope all is well.

Just spotted this and it made me laugh so here it is:-

An old man walks into the barber shop for a shave and a haircut.
He tells the barber he can't get all his whiskers off because his cheeks are wrinkled from age.

The barber gets a little wooden ball from a cup on the shelf and tells him to put it inside his cheek to spread out the skin.

When he's finished, the old man tells the barber that was the cleanest shave he's had in years.
However, the old man wanted to know what would have happened if he had swallowed that little ball.

The barber replied,
"Just bring it back in a couple of days like everyone else does."

Turned cloudy here about 3.30 so I came sown from the tunnel and made a cup of tea and we sat by the pond and drank it.

The puddle had sprung a leak and was going down so today oh drained it out and put a liner in it left over from my pond. All full of water again now. There were three newts in it and they went up the hose pipe and into a bowl so they can now go back in the puddle pond.

No more sign of the mole in the bed around it either so it must have been a fleeting visit.

Evening all,

Another lovely day ,we have been in the shed i've got hubby to sort out some of the bits on the shelves ,we filled three of those big tubs !! he has thrown all sorts out at last, i don't think we have done a quarter of it yet !!

Went to sons this morning ,now getting some lovely smiles from Lacey , she is still having tummy troubles , DIL took her back to the doctors and she now has to give her a different sort of milk, DIL went into Boo*s with the prescription to get some and they said it would take five days to get some in !! well son told them that was not good enough the poor little girl needs her milk, they soon said it will be in tomorrow !!
DIL also has some cream to put on her little bottom as it is so sore because she keeps dirtying her nappy so much, the doctor said use that and put her usual cream over the top, the pharmacist then said use only this cream,!!! poor DIL doesn't know what to do for the best , son told her to read the instructions on the box !!

Will have to remember to cut the tendrils and side shoots off the Sweet Peas then Mel, i always left them as i thought it helped them to cling to the canes .
Love the joke , made hubby chuckle LOL

Who is that good looking chap in the photo's then Frank ;-) :-D i picked you out !!

Jane, i always wonder how these young boys keep their trousers up , they wear them so you can see most of their pants!!! and the undercarriage of their trousers are nearly round their knees!!! :-D :-D :-D

I just listened to the song Poppa Piccolino, and I didn't recognise it.It was on Youtube.

Haven't had Chilli con Carne for years Mel.I don't mind it if it isn't too hot.
Decision made here and it is the steak. The Stuffed Mushrooms are in cooking now.Hopefully when I start to smell them I will begin feeling hungry.

Frank were you selling your first editions (in the photo) in Kettering? and are the boy and girl your children?

I don't think there will be any more meals outside in the evenings this year :-| Boo Hoo.
Autumn is definitely creeping up on us now.I must ring the chimney sweep to come and do the yearly sweep.I always book Fitz in for his chimney at the same time.We just need to work out the best day for the both of us.

My oven is pinging so the Mushrooms must be done now.I think I'll pop the chips in next and leave the steak until last.

Evening All,

I remember that song Mel and was humming the tune as I read the words. I didn't remember many of the words though! I had forgotten how the number of sweet pea flowers on a stem mattered when showing. I bet first FIL pinched out the sideshoots too. I remember there wasn't much foliage on his!! Glad your mole seems to have gone......nothing worse than a mole in your bed!!

Frank, I guessed which was you.......the smart, goodlooking one wasn't it!! :-D :-D I was awake till 3.45am this morning, tossed and turned, couldn't get off. I told OH I am thinking of getting venetian blinds next year to block out the light better. :-S

Tschh, tschh Jane, you knew what to expect, but had a gawp instead of looking away! :-D I know, it was like a magnet I suppose, pulling at your eyes. lol Poor lad must find it hard to do his job, especially in tight spaces.

Mandy, at least you have made some progress with your shed.......our garage is impossible to walk through again now!! I am hoping when we sort it next time a lot of the things we have hung on to can go. We hung onto all sorts while 'doing' the house and garden in case we needed them.

As it was such nice weather this morning we had a spontaneous moment and shot off to Sandringham! We had never been before, so it was a nice ride and we really enjoyed it, all of it! The museum was very interesting with all the old cars and horse carriages. OH now wants to go to Bucks Palace like Ros did!

Tomorrow afternoon we are going to see the new Meryl Streep film comedy, Hope Springs.

Night night Jane.

Frank I did'nt have the pics of yours. Pretty please???? :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Chilli was nice tonight and so easy to cook.

Jane you should have a go. I use the Homepr*de tinned sauce so you only have to fry off the mince and add the sauce. I also add more red kidney beans. If you use a lb of mince it should,nt be too hot as I only use about 1/2 lb meat.

Annx Report 13 Sep 2012 23:17

Mandy, it was a last minute thing we decided at 9.30am this morning............ never was any good at geography so I didn't realise it was near to you, I thought it would be quite a long way away. Yes we saw the house, museum, church and gardens, but didn't walk all the footpaths. The little church is fabulous inside isn't it. Now I will be able to picture the Queen in the dining room at Christmas too! I think it is all open till the end of October, then closes till March.

It's a good job your son spoke plainly at the chemist isn't it. A tiny baby like Lacey can't hang on like that. As for the cream.....not much help there either!! :-S

Those keys are expensive David. Have you tried 'googling' as I think the dealers charge the most.

Hope I sleep better tonight, feel really tired now.......
