OH Kim that snake sounded awful I am so glad it went the weather is so wet today I think our garden will be water logged soon everything is growing so fast we cannot keep up with it yet one cannot get out to do the garden. My hubby cut the grass three days ago now its up to the ceiling.sorry sky well just long.
Everytime I go out it pours with rain on me and I find it difficult to handle a umbrella.
Jane sent you a belated Moonpig card so look out for it I did remember your birthday but could not get to send a card .I know I am MOONPIGGING all the while.
Well here comes the thunder and some lighting I worry our place was struck by lightning in 1957 there is a huge chimney with a very plastered up crack where the lightning struck and set the place on fire.
Thanks Frank and everyone for your good wishes I am trying to take it easy. my body is just cringing with old age.
Beryls got gout no not Donnie he seems to have got a job in a pub I hope he is not taking home the goods for Beryl to consume she was a little drunk last night when I at last phoned. I did not tell her I was in hospital.
was the film nice Ann .
Shirl bad headaches and burnt lawns does not sound very good I do hope things improve for you.
Cars are so expensive I wonder how long I will be able to keep mine I have had it sometime I get a bit green with envy when I see my brothers museum pieces he buys. He says Hi sis still got the same rust box. I say yes you have not changed a bit and he just laughs. Everything is expensive I had to pay a fortune just to get some false teeth .how do people who really do not have money manage.
I love back in time .I found an old film Blossoms in the dust Greer Garson really a mushy old film but cried all the way through last night .I must have been going through my sentimental stage to buy it.
There are people much worse off than me after two cancer scares I was ok but some poor people I wish them luck my neighbour came in our shop and told me she had breast cancer but is beating it but she smokes still .I felt guilty selling the ciggies to her.
Well the sun seems to be out now strange weather lets hope it gone now for the day THE RAIN Jasper is raring to go for a good walk, So its on with the wellies.
Have a lovely day everyone nice to be back nice to be able to sit to the computor.
Jane poor old sausage was right that made me giggle. I have a poor old sausage in the fridge for my lunch theres is one looks like its been there for sometime but ho said not I might brave it and consume it later. Not much else to eat I wish I had a good husband like Frank you deserve a medal my hubby is more concerned about beer and all that forgets we needed some food.
I go to Ireland the lst of September Jane on a coach I hope for calm seas last time I went to france on a boat it went up and down the whole time I was not seasick having took some tablets but just sat and looked at a cake I had got and my coffee was sliding all over the table .
I am going to read a few threads May try my Facebook page I have a friend on it with my names in America she sent a message not answered yet. Kim are you still on will send a message not been going to bed until late This lady is not a friend yet really the tablets have messed up my sleeping pattern .

Yes Sheila I am on atm. You can send me a message. You will find I have posted a little funny for everyone regarding the weather, although it won't apply to Shirl currently. I remember Blossoms in the Dust, she was such a great actress and so beautiful too.
Pat I didn't mind you mentioning the snake, never fear. I do hope those children haven't killed it. Yes Pat keep that purse shut my dear. ;-)

Sheila I will add your card to the others That is nice of you .Thankyou. Pat ,that thundery weather always gives me a headache too.Touch wood nothing here at the moment. In fact we have had some lovely warm sun.I have been down the garden to pick the Broad Beans for Chris this evening. But it does look like rain could be on the way :-S.I don't think I shall risk hanging washing out just at the moment. Ann I like my steam mop.It didn't come with cleaning stuff.Just said to use water, but I'm sure it would be safe for me to add a little drop of floor cleaner. I did use it the other week when it was an extremely humid day and the floors took hours to dry :-S :-S.I ended up putting a towel down and scooting along on it with my feet lol
Kim I hope your snake hasn't been killed by those kids.I didn't know that they were protected.I quite liked your pic of it :-D but you are much prettier lol
Must grab a coffee now

Morning All an dEvening Kim,
Well what a todo we had last night. we were sitting at the table watching the telly and BOOM off went the leccy!! :-S :-S :-S Oh got up and went to the cupboard where the electric box is and tried to turn it back on, which he did after a couple of tries of flipping the switch. Sat at the table and looked out the window to see fireworks rainig golden showers from the electric pole with abig box on it up our drive out the front. So he donned his wellies and walked up there refusing to let me come too. The telly would'nt work, the kitchen strip light would'nt work and the only thing that was on was the lower power light bulb in the kitchen light.
After a while he came back and asked for Western Power's phone number as the cable up the top was glowing bright red. This was about 10 past nine. He was a bit concerned as the cable passes over one of our sheds on the way to the Glebe about half a mile away. Anyway they sent some men down within about a quarter of an hour to 20 mins. Off he toddled again and meanwhile I shut the chickens in and waited down the house. By this time it had started to get dark and he had told me to turn off the leccy at the box. He was worried it had hurt the big telly in the kitchen as this did'nt even show a red light on it for the standby.
I ran around to find some candles and got out my little string of lights that run from batteries. Got all the solar lights together in the kitchen so I would'nt be left in the dark, and when it is dark here it is dark. Managed to have enough light to washup with as thats the only thing I could do. Oh came back then and said they were working on it and when I went outside I could hear voices and ladders being moved about. They had had the power turned off before they could work on the cable. Oh let me walk up there with him in the dark to see what was happening. Could'nt see much but they were sawing down bits of trees in our neighbours field as the pole is inbetween the properties but his field is clearer than our bushy bit this side. We watched them put the ladder up the pole and then put up some kind of double pole thing which he broke the other ceramic thing with and swore rather badly. I gt fed up watching and was getting midges all round my face but had to wait till they had come down the ladder to get past without being seen as we did'nt want them to think they were being watched!!
There was not a light on anywhere around............and when oh came back I was making his ciggies by candlelight. He said pour us out a drop of whiskey which I was doing when the lights came back on!! Telly worked thank goodness. By this time it was 20 to 12 so oh had his drop of the hard stuff and went to bed.
I did'nt wake up till 5 to 11 after getting up about 7.30 and oh was still fast asleep snoring which is unusal for him. Went back to bed and fell asleep again till late!!

That was a proper do last night Mel :-SWas it last year you had sparks coming off something or was that the year before? No wonder you had a good sleep last night and most the morning.I hope all is well now on the leccie front.
What a pity about the rain for Chealsea's sports day Mandy :-SAt least the managed to carry on. Have had a couple of showers but the sun is shining again.I just keeps coming and going.I showered Chester again just now so have just got his towels hanging out.He does smell very doggyish these days :-SI have chucked his bedding in the machine to freshen it up and sponged his bed down (that is under the gazebo on the patio table to dry and air off.I just hate coming into the house and smelling dog.It always reminds me of soggy Rich Tea Biscuits or Digestives lol Now I will finish hoovering up the stairs and then have a cup of tea :-D

I guess you must have candles or alternative light handy Mel, can imagine it being pitch black with no lights where you are. Was it the bad weather that caused it.
Poor Sheila, I hope you are feeling better, you certainly have been in the wars, are you off to Ireland with OH, are you doing a tour or going to stay in one particular place. Ireland is somewhere I've always wanted to go, Italy is another.
It will be nice to see baby Lacey tonight Mandy, think my daughter is coming over tomorrow, haven't seen Harry for a few weeks.
Are you fighting fit again Shirl. now you've got rid of those nasty headaches, sounds like your weather isn't any better than ours. I managed to sit in the garden and have my lunch while the sun was out, didn't last long though. It's more like April weather.

I had to worm Jasper yesterday and the tablets made his tummy groan it was really disturbing it rumbled all day then he was ok.
My massage lady came and ordered me out for fish and chips she said no to my one lone sausage for me. She said it looked too lonesome.
While sat in the pub making up my mind not to eat chips just fish and peas a little lad came and plonked himself next to me. He stared at me hard and then went off later returning witha bowl of chips. I was staggered and said thank you sweetheart but I am not eating chips today do you not want them . He looked about to cry and said Oh they arnt mine I took them off that table pointing across to the left the man there got up and went he dint want them. I looked across to see a elderly man returning to his table and exclaiming oh my chips have gone.
My friend had gone intro some laughing state and my little friend said what you laughing at . I said what is your name and he said Charlie I said where is your mum and he said over there pointing to a group of people all drinking . I said can I buy you a big coke In exchange for the chips he said oh ta . I got him a coke and then went to the man who had lost his chips and explained about Charlie. He was not very nice he said the little tike needs his ears boxing. I said can I buy you some more chips he said you better. So I had to pay for another bowl of chips for him.
My friend thought I was daft and went dashing off to Charlies table and told his mum what he had done. There was a few heated words and then his mum came over and said I am so sorry he thinks if you have fish you should have chips with them saw that bowl of chips not being eaten so took them and brought them to you. I said that was sweet the man got his chips so can we please forget it. Charlie was dragged off his mum looked annoyed poor little lad but he should be told you do not just help yourself to chips .why does it happen to me.
On returning there was a massive pool of water outside our shop we did have a heavy storm while sat in the pup also a oak tree had fallen down in the road the pub was situated in there were men sawing it up and putting the pieces in a big van to take it away. We had to wait 15 minutes for the van to move. My massage friend said I wont come out with you next time, i said to myself well I do not care if you do not. I think the sausage would have done really I had a nice cold diet coke at the ready and a small salad. Jassy had the sausage and it disapeared in l second .
The floods are pretty depressing William everywhere Annie said they had bags of sand down the river severn at Stratford upon avon her leg is ok now and she was out bird watching. I think that bite cost her over a thousand pound .it was some nasty insect have the name will look it up.
David you are funny.

We always have candles and a big lantern torch handy here in case of power cuts.Touch wood we haven't had one for quite a while now but we did go through a spell when we had quite a lot.Hope all is ok now Mel
The sun is still shining and it's lovely and warm.Chris was going to cut the lawn but after the couple of heavy showers it is a bit too wet.He said they had monsoon type rain this afternoon and that was just a mile or two away from here.So yet again we have been spared. :-D.Of course the day isn't over yet so there is still time lol. I think tomorrow is supposed to be dry so the lawn will get a cut then.
Hope Fiona is ok .Its' been a long time now since she posted(unless I have missed her)
Now I have 2 chicken breasts defrosted for dinner.I just have to decide what to do with them :-S :-S.I think they will be wrapped in pancetta chuck some mushrooms in and roasted.New potatoes and what ever veg I have in the fridge plus those Broad beans for him indoors :-D
Change of plan with the lawn .He is going to do the bottom bit (he calls the Orchard)!!! and the bit out the front of the house on the pavement.

Afternoon all,
Well it's been a right ol' day. Turned on new freezer this morning and it works a treat. I thought I had better go and sort out the old one and transfer the stuff into the new one.
I didn't think last night to get Johnathan to help me turn it around !!!! so I had the lid up on the old one, blocking the new one. So had to keep walking around to put the stuff in. I had three big carrier bags full of broken packages, old old frozen fish, (it could have swam out on it's own)That is now sittring in the bottom of the black bin.
My back ached like mad bending over the freezers for best part of an hour. Now I have to wait for the SCRAP MAN to come by to take it away. He was around on Monday !!!
Lasagne tonight with new pots and salad. I got this ready while Ros was up the Scout hut doing her needlework.
Mel, I trust the Leci men sorted everything out. When we lived at Gayton, a car overturned in the lane and crashed into a pole outside out house, The fireworks display was very impressive, but we were without Elecric for over eight hours.
Jane, I am like you, I don't eat Broad Beans, but shell them for her H Majesty everyday, and grow them in the garden.
I have loads of Emails to send, but it keeps showing there's a fault, so will forward when I can.
Trust everyone is well.

Sheila the Guinness Factory in Dublin is fascinating. There is a nice view from the top and you get a free pint of the stuff lol I don't like Guinness but did have a taster.Ended up with a white moustache :-D.There is an interesting old prison in Dublin too.But I can't think of the name of it at the moment.

Evening All,
A really mixed day here weatherwise......some sun then the obligatory heavy showers to go with it!! Had a carvery lunch then I went to a nearby garden centre and got 2 evergreen shrubs, one a small leafed Hebe, can't remember what the name of the other is but it has dark leaves with creamy white splashes and shoots. Both are supposed to be small so we shall see!
David we once bought a new car for about £600 (long time ago). Sorry to hear your brother is not so good and hope he improves. Does he use his computer you got for him?
Mel, the fireworks must have been quite scary. I wouldn't have wanted to get anywhere near them. Good job your OH is trained in dealing with all kinds of situations. I hope it wasn't the leccy you were feeding back into the grid! I can just imagine how BLACK it would be where you are!! lol. We have 2 torches in the porch cupboard and I have a scented candle in the lounge.......ordinary ones in the garage too.......hmmm not sure where they are though.
The 'new' pic of you Kim is very nice........I wouldn't want the snake to be harmed either. Hope it is ok.
Sheila the film was very good and made OH want to go and see him again in December!! Andre was ill again with that ear problem a couple of months ago, so dizzy he couldn't stand up, but is fine again now. Your trip to Ireland sounds good. I have never been either but keep thinking I should.
Jane I must look into these steam mops. I have done the same with an old towel too to dry the kitchen floor.......easier than getting down and hopefully back up!! :-S
Frank I would have left the fish in the new freezer till bin day........no worse smell than fish......I even have a job to walk through the fish market....what a pong!! :-S Thanks for the emails....some more good uns!
Poor Chelsea Mandy. I bet she was thinking they might abandon Sports Day. Lucky it didn't last too long.
I'm off to bed now, early start tomorrow....OH is taking me to the Lichfield bead shop first thing. :-D I also want to visit Erasmus Darwin's house and museum (grandpa of Charles Darwin) which is near the Cathedral. He was a doctor, scientist, inventor, botanist and poet.......imagine having a grandpa like that!
I hope Fiona is ok.......it seems ages since she posted.

Leccie has been ok since they mended it. I always have at least three solar lights I use at night to light our way to the loo. One on the candlestick in the hall outside our bedroom, one on the little half moon table just past the bathroom door and one just inside the bathroom door. They spend all day on the bedroom window sill and then I bring them into the kitchen at night and put them on the table so they still charge up. At least it is'nt pitch black when we get up in the night. I don't like a light in the bedroom but the one in the hall just tells you where the doorframe is.
We have had a few light showers today. every time I put washing on the line. I am sick to death with wet washing evryware. I do hope we are going to get some sort of dry weather this year that we may call summer.
Sheila you can bring your free guiness home for me I love the stuff and very good for you it is too.
