Hello Linda:-)) Hope you are warm and well.

After two days of dry, warm, humid but overcast days we are now back to the heavy rain - and just as my son walks out of the door for his hour drive to work.

Have you had an interesting day?

Hello Sue,
I made the Christmas cake today. yes I know it should have been done ages ago, but I hadn't got myself organised. Still it is done now

Shame about all the rain, you can't win because I remember a couple of years ago, you had hardly any water in your reservoirs

We've gone from drought to too much rain in that time. Did you see the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge is snowed in? I can think of worse places:-))

The Lion Inn is always snowed in. I like it, the old part is so atmospheric with the flagged floors and open fires. It is spoilt a bit by having a large dining room but I suppose that is how they make their money

Good Evening Linda,
Good Morning Sue,

Linda your Christmas cake smells wonderful from here, are you going to ice and decorate it?

Sue, What disappointing weather you're having, wouldn't mind swapping though lol.

Tec............9-16pm

We've had a few meals in the Lion - the family always take us there for a treat and we love it. Last time it was full of ramblers and they were a rowdy lot - your OH was probably one of them...lol

Hi all~~
Hope everyone is pucker:)

Is the Lion Inn where the owner found his car by locating the ariel?.. just what I read on the net, not knowing the area.

Very frosty here but at least we haven't had any more of the white stuff :))

Hello Tec - at least it isn't cold here.

The wonders of modern technology. My daughter's ex SIL - who we all consider part of the family - has just gone over to the UK for a working holiday. I've been chatting with her on FB. It's amazing that I was sat in my daughter's home talking to her only 2 weeks ago and now we're chatting from around the world.

Berona Report 5 Dec 2010 21:23

Good evening Linda - good morning Sue. No blue in the sky, but rain has not yet reached here. I have an appointment this morning - it will probably start raining then!

That sounds a great idea, Linda. Books are very heavy. Let me know what you think of it after you've had it for a while. My DIL always seems to have the latest in electronic gadgets, so I'm sure it won't be long before she has one (if not already!) and if she thinks I should have one - she will suggest it. They are always asking me what I want and anything expensive - they club together. At this time, I'm quite happy reading the ordinary books, but age is still creeping on (galloping at times!).

Good evening Tec,
I will ice the cake, but not decorate it. It has become a sort of family tradition that OH and my daughter do that and I am not allowed to see it until it is done. Now my daughter is not here, OH just does it.
The most memorable one is the year when the top of the cake read "Bah humbug"

Hello Berona and Sandie
I will let you know Berona. One good thing about it ,is that you can alter the size and type of font to make it easier to read.

Hello Tec and Sandie. Hope you have had a nice day, if a cold one.

Quire warm and dry here, but for how long, we don't know. Forecast is for rain.

Linda - we still have water restrictions where I am. No sprinklers allowed as yet. It may be flooding in other parts of the state, but where I am, the rain is not heavy enough to be of any use - just annoying.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Dec 2010 21:31

Good morning Berona - hope you are well. The rain has stopped now but not for long I think.

Linda - sound like your OH enjoys surprising you with the decoration on the cake. Good fun.

I fully intend doing nothing more than housework this morning then relaxing for the rest of the day - or week. Having had a very busy November it is now time to wind down for the year and get ready for Christmas.

It is so strange that you are still short of water Berona.

You should take it easy Sue, especially as you have just been ill.

Tec has disappeared, perhaps he and Lanto are mooching around the garden again, you know how they enjoy it

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 Dec 2010 21:35

Good Morning Berona, Hope it stays dry for your appointment today.
I can see the advantages of e-books, but I hope it doesn't mean the demise of proper books sometime in the future.

Linda I have decorated a few Christmas cakes - I love the idea of the Bah -Humbug one though.

Sue, You're right about the wonder of modern technology, we couldn't have imagined such things when we were young - I'd love to know the advancements in 50 years time. I expect they will think we were so backward.

Tec.

I'm sure they will laugh at our mobile phones and computers etc. In fact my phone is about 5 years old and the family laugh at it now. They all have these fancy ones that do all sorts of stuff. Our computer is very dated although we do have a flat screen monitor:-))

I have just been in the garden - clear sky, twinkling stars, and a heavy frost. Can her oyster catchers on the beach, bet they're cold.
