Berona Report 3 Dec 2010 21:32

Sounds lovely, Tec. Like one of those moving picture ecards!

Sue - we seem to have had a shower earlier. There are dry patches outside as well as the open area being wet - which indicates that it wouldn't have been much. Overcast with the sun trying to break through at the moment, but more showers forecast.

Lovely day yesterday. How is it down your way? The Central West of NSW is reaching disaster proportions with the floods.

Sounds beautiful Tec - although I'm just thinking about the scenery not the freezing conditions. I've never been anywhere where the temperatures have gone below 0 degs. and that was May in Hobart. Very "crisp" as one of the locals called it.

I don't know if anyone remembers me talking about a young man on our street who suffered a breakdown and was taken to hospital. The poor fellow has had a major setback and caused a scene on our street resulting in the police being called as he ran into my next door neighbour's yard and frightened her badly. It was pitiful hearing him call to his mum from the back of a police car. Unfortunately his parents had to see him being led to the police car in hand cuffs. OH went down to speak to his father who told OH that he was diagnosed with schizophrenia while in hospital. This young man is a solicitor and very bright. Life can be so unfair at times. At least our group of neighbours is totally supportive of the family and no-one is saying anything bad about their son.

I keep being taken to my Family Tree page, when I don't want to go there, and definitely haven't clicked on it - most annoying.

Berona - it was cool, humid and overcast yesterday but no rain. Today looks like being the same. No sign of sunshine.

Sue I remember you mentioning that young man some time ago. that is so sad, for him and his parents. I know that illness can be controlled by medication, but sometimes things still go wrong.
I hope the police were tactful and didn't use any more restraint than necessary, and that the hospital can help him.

Berona Report 3 Dec 2010 21:52

Tec - you might need to log right out and come back in again.

Sue - yes, I remember. Reminded me of my SIL's daughter - lovely girl I've seen grow up, marry, two lovely children. She got Bipola - wrecked her marriage and her home (trashed it in a fit of rage) - yet, when she is taking medication, is back to the lovely girl she always was. She was in charge of a council library until she accused everybody of talking about her behind her back (imagination). It's so sad to see things like this happen and there doesn't seem to be any cause. They go well on their medication and feel so good that they stop taking it, and it all starts again.

I hope your neighbour can be treated. It must be embarrassing and worrying for his family.

SueMaid Report 3 Dec 2010 21:53

The police were very gentle with him but they had to use some restraint as he was standing in my neighbour's yard shouting which frightened her as you can imagine. She came out of her front door and a neighbour took her to their house. The young fellow's mother was mortified but my neighbour assured her that she had no bad feelings towards her son.

Good evening Tec and Linda

Good morning Sue and Berona

Sue it's good to hear you are feeling more like yourself today hun, hope the appetite soon return's, yes I remember you telling us about your neighbour's son and it is good no one think's any different about your neighbour's.

Hi Berona, I hope your weather stay's dry and you don't get the shower's again.

Welcome back Linda we have all missed you and it is a relief to hear you got back safely. Sad new's about the 2 pensioner's who have been found dead in their back garden's.

Tec you be carefull when you do your garden visit's with Lanto, make sure you don't fall hun. The view's you discribe sound really christmassy as long as you can view them from a warm enviroment.

I had to call the emergency repair's to my boiler today, called them yesterday to say it wasn't working but did manage to get it going again when I got home from work, but when we got up this morning it stopped working again but this time there was a leak ( as I thought ) from a pipe, they said I needed to be at home for them to put it on an emergency call out so told them I could be home in about 15min's, employer's mum had told me to go home as her son had gone to the day centre and I could go, They finally arrived around 6-30pm and said the leak was caused by the overflow pipe on the boiler being frozen and that was also the reason the boiler ignition kept cutting out ( safety feature on boiler ) so now we have heating again and at least I know next time it happen's I can defrost the pipe with my hairdryer to get it working again.

Hello Carole,
I hope you have a good day shopping in the big city, and find everything you want without too much hassle - take care - Hwyl Fawr.

Good Evening Diane, Glad you got your boiler fixed, wrong weather to be without heating. I would imagine lots of people have had similar problems. Also problems with burst pipes when the thaw sets in.

Hi Carole hope you enjoy your shopping spree hun and find all the pressy's you need.

I totally agree Tec, very cold Wednesday night when it broke down and cold for getting up this morning, at least now we know what causes the problem and what we have to do to rectify it.

I had a frustrating time with British Gas today. I had a letter from them asking me to phone to arrange the annual service on my boiler. I've had a service contract with them for years. When I phoned and gave relevant customer numbers etc, they could find no trace of me on their computer.
Bear in mind they had sent me a letter, and that they take the monthly direct debit payment. I got passed from one to another until eventually after insisting that I had a contract with them, they found me and I managed to arrange a date for the service - what a palaver.

Tec......10-55pm.
