Thank you Amanda,

Diane I don't think the problem is directly connected with the diabetes, but as I expect you know, any trouble with legs or feet for a diabetic can be complicated.

Tec..............10-08pm.

Diane ..... I hope your daughter is ok now . You must all live in a constant state of worry : ((

Tec ....... I'll think of you on Christmas day , it's a mad house round here with Uncle Tom cobley and all !! Well , mad Uncle Chris and we don't call him mad for nothing .....lol
At the moment two of my daughters have " dis-owned " each other , so I'm not sure if I'll get all four of my children under the same roof this year ( but I haven't given up hope yet , they can all be drama Queens when the mood is on them ) , except my son of course , he is quite a mild manner chap but I guess that comes from having been bought up with three sisters .

I wonder where our Sue has got too ? I hope that everything is ok in her world .

Yes Tec diabetes can either affect the diabetic in their feet/ leg's or their eye's, my auntie ( dad's SIL ) has it and she ended up losing the site in her eye's, I hope thing's for the Duchess are ok and nothing to serious hun.

Amanda you never stop worrying about your kid's one way or another, when their ill or at loggerhead's with each other :(

Usually at christmas it is my daughter and her 3 girl's my youngest son and myself here for christmas and as far as I know that is how it will be this year. I love christmas day, I part cook everything the night before, set the big table up which is in my bedroom and is brought into the living room for christmas day so that when I get back from work all I have to do is reheat everything and then when it's ready to serve I bring it all in to the table in pyrex dishes for all to help themselves.

Diane .... we usually have a table shuffle in this house as well.... lol
I have an " old fashioned " table in my kitchen ( it is the one I sat at as a little girl and was indeed my Nan and Granddads before that ) , I usually move that into the front room and we all cram round it on whatever chairs are available , it is funny to see us all sitting at slightly different heights ....lol

Hello - just a quick visit to let you know I'm still around. I've not been well the last couple of days with a tummy bug that's left me feeling exhausted and no good for anything. I've been up for 20 minutes but I think I'll go back to bed and sleep it off.

Love to you all - will talk later.

We are having two big days this year. DIL's mum will be just home from an op and need care, so son and DIL will need to be with her. Because of this, our Chistmas get-together will be on 19th - at daughter's home - then again on 25th, we will be there again for a late barbecue lunch/dinner and more party stuff with whoever can make it. It gets hard once your children have partners - you have to share them with their inlaws.

Sue xx I hope your feeling better soon , thank you for letting us know , I was starting to worry about you x

Oh dear, Sue - take care. Get all the rest you can get. We will be thinking of you. We HAVE been thinking of you. Thanks for letting us know - even though it's not good news.

Amanda2003 Report 30 Nov 2010 22:49

Berona ...... I hope you enjoy both big days ..... I think your not wrong about things getting complicated as ones kids get older ( In - Laws etc ) , I hope your DIL's Mum is ok after her Op .
I think my elder two Grandchildren are going to be with their Dad this Christmas Day , so we might well be doing a double " Christmas " this year .

Tec - Our shortest day is 21st June and our longest day is either 21st or 22nd December. I would know if I had bothered to check the sun times, but I always forget.
I agree - after that shortest day, the days always seem to get longer. I think it's because they get colder! The shortest day may be in June, here - but August is our coldest month.

Let us know how the duchess gets on. I know it's best to test for the worst as a process of elimination - but the waiting for results is not good. We will be keeping our fingers crossed.

Hello everyone. I am just looking in for a minute, then signing out. We have been on cinema duty tonight and it was incredibly cold as we walked back. There were sixteen intrepid souls who turned out to watch the film.

I am so sorry to hear that you are ill Sue, I hope that you feel better soon. I also hope that your daughter is all right as well Diane.

We must be mad, but we are going to attempt to go to our hotel break tomorrow, it should only take us two hours to get there, what can possibly go wrong ? Don't answer that.

I won't have my computer with me, I could take it, but they charge £10 a day for wifi, which is a rip off and I refuse to pay that. The hotel we stayed in last weekend didn't charge for it at all.

I hope that you all keep safe until I get back on Friday

Enjoy your stay, Linda - and take care on the roads!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 30 Nov 2010 23:05

Berona, January and February are normally our coldest months. To have such severe weather as we are having in late November is very unusual. June and July are our hottest months, although July in recent years has been a washout, with heavy rainfall. September and October this year were very nice with some lovely hot spells.

Thanks for your good wishes for OH - the waiting will be a trial, but she is quite pragmatic about things and would rather know whatever it is.

Tec...........11-05pm
