I am pleased to say that I haven't bought a single Christmas present yet

Yes, I have called into Berry and found it fascinating. I could spend a lot there but we only stayed little more than for a comfort stop.

I don't mind the dull weather, Sue but you have had more rain than I have had, so I can understand you feeling the way you do.

I slipped over to Friends Reunited a few minutes ago, then had trouble getting back. The return takes me to the Home page and things were a little different then - New Help Clinic wasn't there before an this thread had page 17136 of 17136, and kept giving me blank pages, but I persisted, although I'm not going to try again!

Linda - make sure the batteries are charged up - and/or take new one with you.

I have the charger Berona, I will take the battery out and recharge it tomorrow when I am there.

Come to think of it - where's the Add/Delete/Edit? Seems like the Add is automatic - but I can't delete or edit. Anyone else got this problem?

I've only got mum's present sorted because I saw something I knew she would love - she's very easy to buy for. As for the others - the adults get gift vouchers because that's what they ask for and the children are quite easy to buy for.

We used to buy for the niece and nephews but it was getting out of hand. They are all working and can afford what they want so putting some money in an envelope seems silly these days. My brother and SIL always come over on Christmas afternoon and the boys usually turn up with assorted girlfriends. I used to have little toiletry sets in case a girlfriend turned up but last year ended up with left overs so I won't worry this year.

Aha! I have found it! Edit and Delete are with RR in the centre column and we are now getting "one minute ago" instead of the correct GMT - and just as I have worked out that if it's 9:25am here, it's 10:25 last night over there!

That's odd. I went back to the first page of Chat and it had threads from 2005. Then when I refreshed the page it came back to normal. It then told me this thread has 17,134 pages but now I'm back to 1379. I'm getting a headache:-(

It must be difficult for GR when they are trying out new systems. Most businesses can wait for the time when the business is shut down to try their experiments, then again during the weekend or preferably a long holiday weekend, to incorporate new or changed systems. This site runs 24/7 and they have to experiment and keep the site going - so we can only help by being patient. Give them a chance to make the changes, then when they feel they are up and running smoothly - we can complain if we don't like any of the changes.

Have a good shop Sue. I am off as well. I may be able to look in over the weekend, but I am not sure. If not, I will be back on Monday. I will make sure to pass on all the cuddles and the strange sounding Welsh one.

Berona I agree it must be difficult for GR to make changes when they have to keep the system up and running 24/7 - but I do think they would help themselves by announcing that changes are about to be made, instead of springing surprises on their membership. People are then much more likely to co-operate with patience.

I am also getting 1380pages (soon to be 1381). Other threads have also shrunk. Are we getting more posts per page? Or are they just deleting all the messages deleted?
Anyway I am off today, As I explained to our new receptionist, I am supposed to be part time, or as required. Ha, business must be good. 41 hours last pay period plus 4 hour Saturday overtime.
Of to a memorial service this afternoon for sister of a friend. I know friend is about 75, since her doctor had to fill in medical questionnaire last year to renew her drivers licence. Sister was about five years older. Had health problems but I think just faded away with what they called 100 years ago senile debility. I don't know what they call it now.
And to make you all jealous, we are off to the opera house tonight to see the Berlin Philharmonic. We booked in early July, and it was virtually sold-out then. We could only get seats behind the stage, so we will see them from a new perspective. It was my birthday present to Denise.
