Hi all,
Late checking in today. We went to Nuneaton in the car this morning as I needed to have my feet done, then we planned to finish the morning getting freezer food. I left our car in the disabled bay on my wifes badge as it was easier. N O T!!! When we got back to the car at 1pm, there was total gridlock. Why? A lorry was parked up half across the pavement further up and was blocking half the two lane one way street. There's a feeder road just ahead of us and when the lights changed, one stream of traffic blocked the other! If I wanted to put up a small out building I guess the Council planners would want to know what I had for breakfast. Surely a business that needs deliveries should have a proper off-road delivery area? Or deliveries at off peak times? This was a restuarant that doesn't open until the evening!!! IS IT ME??? It took us neary half an hour to get out of that spot. I guess if the warden had come along he'd have booked me for parking for over 2 hours...
So, there you have moany old William today for a change.
Pat, yes nice to link up with you on Facebook. If you want a good laugh on there and not me moaning as above, click on the Coventry Diecast Model Club Link and you will see Paul Kennelly and I exchanging cartoon rivalry. You probably won't understand half of it but I bet you'll giggle anyway.
Anyway folks, I'm off to put the finishing touches to the decorative top I'm making for my wifes 80th birthday cake for Monday.
Catch you all later on

Hello from a full me.Golly I do feel full and had no pudding.Just one small glass of wine .Fitz had a bottle of Red lol.Frank it was the White Heart ,Lyddington. We also had a look in at another just further up the village. That looked really lovely with a smashing restaurant. That was the Marquess of Exeter.Must tell Chris about that one :-D.As you say Frank there are some lovely villages with wonderful coloured stone cottages.I wish I had taken my camera.
Kim the pipe is mended thanks ,but we need to get some brackets to keep the pipe secured.Lord knows what they are called.I think it will be me going off to Wick** to find them.Chris will have to measure the pipe for me though.
I do need a cup of tea now though as I'm parched.

HI EVERYONE I hope Frank is feeling better and how is Janice Jane. my poor ho does have an awful cough poor love he needed a bit of consoling yesterday .
Jaspers got a nasty cough and was outside chasing a pidgeon thats got so fat he could hardly fly and Jasper almost managed to catch him.
I think Donnie is very naughty to Beryl he came today and I reminded him she is 74 years old and and he should have more respect for her. He just said. ok Sheil me old cocker . I give up. I said where were you born and he said well me mum had me in a mental home. I said that explains why your like you are then. he said I am joking. I knew he was but thought I would humour the poor chap
THANK YOU for the good wishes to hubby passed them on. Ho said oh thank your ladies nice really nice .I think he had not had any good wishes for a long time . He does not look very well and still works very hard
I do not have a camera Kim I purchased a lovely camera it was very expensive and had it stolen out of the shop.I left it on the counter and it went .Never bothered again.
Shirl do you still have heavy snow take care. people went crazy here when it snowed the students were out at 3am in the park making a noise building snowmen and snowballs and sleighing down the park path. they woke me up so I sat watching them out of the bedrooom window. I have written my poem will post it and have that picture Annie sent me. Mandy I would kill to go to the seaside.
Pat how is Mocca thats a cute name Jaspers coughing a lot. Thanks for wishing ho well.
Pancake day yummy I like lemon and sugar. But will just settle for a drop of lemon . I like cream cheese and sprinkles of icing sugar on top but they do not like me now. all enjoy
Pat I hope you will be better .take care and anyone else who is poorly right now. Wheres David .
The world does seem in a state Kim when they ask for money for all over the world give to this and that I feel sad.have given to a village to get a fresh water well and helped the poor donkeys and a tigars but there is so many and one cannot give to all of them.

No pancakes here.i forgot it was pancake day :-S.I hope no-one is expecting any lol
Sheila,Janice is improving thanks, but just very slowly.I do hope your OH and Jaspers coughs soon get better.I imagine it must be long hours for your OH with the shop and he won't get much chance to rest. I see Beryl and Donnie are still causing havoc lolol. What a pair :-D
I had to give Chester a shower just now ,he was smelling very doggyish .(not very pleasant). He is exhausted now and having a good snooze.
I am still full from lunch ,so will not be eating anything this evening.I imagine Fitz will be feeling the same.He was worried about his cat Podge as he hadn't seen him since yesterday morning.I know he is a great hunter but it is very unusual for him not to nip in for his food.I hope he is ok.
Oh Chris just walked in and said "I can't smell any Pancakes" :-D

William ,it sounds as though have every right to have a good moan today. How frustrating and annoying for you both to be stuck for that long :-S So a big Birthday on Monday !.Have you made the cake as well as decorating it?Are you doing anything special ?
Pat how on earth can you tell the sex of your fish??.Fingers crossed they all stay healthy now.We have a couple of Cockerels next door, but they are a little way down their garden so are not too intrusive.I think we are so used to them now it really doesn't bother us at 4am lol.Chris never hears anything anyway .There used to be a beautiful Cockerel that liked to roost in our hedge. We named him Cedrick .Now, he was quite annoying as the hedge was so close to our bedroom. The neighbour the other side of us complained to the Environmental people and poor Cedrick had to be rehomed :-S There was also 2 Peahens and a Peacock. That could be a racket too,but I thought they were lovely.I think the peahens were eventually got by the fox,and the handsome Peacock was killed by the dog that lives 2 doors up.I could feed the Peacock by hand as I often found him wandering around our garden.

Hi Everyone,
Well fancy not taking your camera after two of us told you how pretty it was Jane! I see you found the 'Marquis' I mentioned.......it was nice even years ago. No pancakes here either.......OH is in Accrington and has just done his radio report. I would find it strange to keep regular hours with meals as I have never known what time OH would be home. :-S
Many thanks for that info on Coventry William......I always like finding interesting things where I go and have saved your post.......will take OH in a few months when the weather is nice. :-D I have visited the motor museum a good few years ago when I worked. We went to a training course at the office there and then called in the museum before we came home. Anymore cat problems?
Yesterday and today I was woken up by nextdoor's dog outside barking his head off at 6.20am!! Tricky to complain though, I suppose most folks get angry but just put up with it. He comes right up to the side gate about 15 feet from our window.
What a hoot Sheila, Beryl in a Barrow!! I hope your OH is soon better......he's not been well for a little while. These things leave you tired for ages after. Frank, Pat and Kim not great either......hope you all feel better tomorrow.
Pat, the zip is for jewellery class on Friday. I shall be very interested to see what I make with it too Mel!!!! lol :-D :-D Could be a disaster!! lol

I know ,I know Ann.I could have kicked myself for not having my camera with me.It is so picturesque ,and the Welland Valley views just amazing.Next time!
Have had a couple of grumbles here about no Pancakes :-D.But when i think back to the last time I made them no-one was particularly interested. As I said there is nothing to stop James making them if he is that keen lol
Watching the Brit Awards now.I will be watching on my own as the 'Boys' aren't interested. They think I am 'sad' :-S,and a bit too old in the tooth .(How rude)I'm still young!!! and love the Music Scene.I will just sit here in my chair and Bop Away lol

"Sitting alone in my old rocking chair," Jane.
As I said we had leek pie tonight. We were so full after it that I didn't make pancakes till 8.00pm. all cleared up and put away now.
Hell of a job getting on here this evening, tried everything, and finally it came up.!!!
Glad you had a nice lunch Jane, you didn't say what you had. !!!
Verry frustrating day then William, nothing worse than not being able to get out of a jam.
Going to watch "Prisoners Wifes" at 9.00pm. Have enjoyed the series so far.
See you in the morning, goodnight.

Don't rock too hard Frank ,you might catapult yourself into outer space . I had Ham Hock Terrine with Piccalilli and Ciabatta, followed by a wonderful Battered Haddock, fab proper chips and proper homemade mushy peas with mint in.Followed by no pudding but great coffee and some chocky things.Fitz finished my Haddock as i couldn't quite finish it.He was trying to nick my chips too ,but he got a slapped hand, and told to keep his mitts off lol
Your Leek Pie sounds delish ,but it would give me terrible wind :-S (sorry if that's too much info).
Ann we have dogs barking every morning .6.30 or there about. It is the German Shepherd next door and the Golden Retriever next to them.If they are let out at the same time they seem to batter the fence and bark their heads off at each other. It sounds like war :-S :-S

Oh, they would be loud Jane! :-0 I could just eat your meal now, very tasty!! :-D :-D......and Frank's Leek pie! I might get some of the leeks up in the garden to have tomorrow. I seem to be able to eat onions, leeks, baked beans without any effect!! ;-)
I went to an hour's talk on the Quarter Sessions at the Records office today. It was quite good. It makes you realise just how harsh life was in the 1800s.
Tomorrow OH has to take his dad to hospital. We are hoping things will be ok now his dad is on antibiotics.
William, I hope the cake looks good for Monday! Your wife has a lovely first name, quite unusual..........any surprises for her birthday, or are you playing safe and getting what you know she wants?

Ann I hope it is ok for FIL tomorrow too. Not nice when it is right in the middle of your face either! :-S
We haad smoked haddock, sweetcorn and a jacket pot tonight followed by HOMEMADE pancakes with sugar and lemon. We think it is the only way to have them. mmmmmmmmm........... I had two and oh had three.
While I was out today oh took all the ivy off the wall at the bottom of the back garden that I can see out the kitchen door. Bad news is thathe told me NOT to go and lean on it as it is all mobile!! :-S most of the cement between the bricks has gone and the whole thing rocks and will probably fall down this year. It is only about three feet high with a couple of wooden rails on top. He also had the old yellow small flowered clemetis down and sorted the old fashioned roses that were underneath. I am not bothered about the clematis but want to keep the old roses as they smell sooooooo good just like Ponds Cold Cream.
Soon everything will be growing again and we want to get a bit straightened out before it does while the weather is a little warmer.
Frank hope the cold improves soon.
Logging off now so will see you all in the morning.

Thanks for asking Ann. I was around his house last week and he seems in good health (relatively speaking)
Since his operations he has quit the smoking habit which benefitted his lungs. Are cigarettes really tht expensive?.
He seldom drinks alchohol which has benefitted his liver and kidney and he hasn't had an attack of gout for weeks. He looks in the pink and eats well.
So he's much better than he was 3 years ago.

Oh Shirl, what are we going to do with you
ARE YOU READY !!! THEN I WILL BEGIN
Take a pyrex dish, grease with butter. Butter bread, place in and around dish. Sprinkle with sugar and sultanas, continue buiding bit up in layers. Put the last slices butter side up and sprinkle with sugar. POUR in milk and cream and let it soak into bread. After half hour top up the dish with milk and cream. Bake in the oven till nice and crisp and brown on top. ENJOY WITH MORE CREAM.
Here endeth todays lesson :-D :-D :-D :-D
I finally succumb, and went to the doctors this morning After chekhing by back and chest. She decided to flu was clearing up, and did not give me anything for it. I was awake again this morning from 2,30am coughing and snorting. She was a little Asian Doctor that I haven't seen before and she has been there for TWO YEARS !!!
David, Pleased to see Ralph is getting along O.K. I do think of him from time to time. Hows E, is she liking the new house better now.???
Mel, That will be another job for Mr Mel, this summer. Rebuilding the wall. It just shows what this Ivy does to brickwork. I can't believe these people who have it all up the front of their houses. Hope none of you have.!!!!
Jane the meal sounded quite nice. I can smell the F & C now, and my mouth is watering. !!!
