Hi Denise.I don't think it is going to a 5 minute job.Looks a bit big to me :-S :-S Plumber should be here any moment ,so I had better shut Chester away for a little while .I just got a bucket of water from my neighbour to flush the downstairs loo if needed. As the leak seems to be coming from a pipe from upstairs bathrooms we will just make do down here. He's here BBL

Morning All,
Sorry to hear about your pipe Jane. Such a bad thing after t he cold weather we have had. You never know till it thaws out!! Hope they don't make too much mess.
Dull and windy here today. I woke at 8am and thought I would get up as oh had'nt been out of bed long either. Thats unusual for him! What did I do?? turned over and fell asleep again and woke at 9.30am.
Have just caught up with posts and see we have'nt heard from Frank. Can't remember when Lewis was going home or going to see a film or something Frank mentioned. I do hope he is ok............
I sometimes watch B Hunt. I have one of those hairdriers that you put can hang on your shoulderby a strap. It has a pipe going to a hood that fits your head and it blows up like a balloon. All fits in a zip up case.

Morning all,
Jane sorry to read about all the problems happening at your house. That's all you need. :-( Hope it can be contained without too much damage. Good news about Janice though. She is improving slowly, that's really good.
Denise have a nice time with your friend who is there for the weekend. Did think your weather over there was improving, but seems to have got cold again. Roll on spring!
Shirl hope your son is doing ok with his meds. Did you have a nice lunch with your daughter? Was that yesterday? Your monster is going to have a marvellous time in Europe - lucky girl.
Frank I'm hoping you are improving today. I've already said my bit on Facebook, so I won't repeat it. People are worried about you.
Son is back from Byron Bay in one piece. They had a really good week and stayed in a lovely place not far from the beach. He's arrived home with a cold , so I don't want to catch that. Brought me back a stack of washing, will have to point him in the direction of the washing machine. Sunny day here, but clouded over again this afternoon.
Talking about grandfathers, mine died in 1926 when my dad was only 6. He was killed when the car he was travelling in went over a steep embankment. From the old newspaper reports I have read online, he was still alive and died when the doctor reached him. I would have liked to have known him, if only for a short time.
Have a good day all. 9.50 pm DST

Afternoon everyone,
We've had a little sun this morning ,but it's now clouding over and looks more like rain , we badly need some , they said on the radio the other day we might have a hose pipe ban this summer if we don't get any rain soon. I also heard on the radio that in some South Norfolk villages they were going to get Mounted Specials on horse back to help with fly-tipping and other “low level anti social behaviour”
Jane , i hope you get your leak fixed , good job Chris got up early and found it.
Got to get my hair washed now . BBL

What a nuisance Jane, I hope the plumbers don't take a look and start sucking their teeth, fingers crossed it will be something simple to repair.
So vets are just as expensive in Canada Shirl. must be the same everywhere, outrageous.
Waiting for daughter and partner to come, I expect it will be an afternoon of wedding talk, am doing them a roast chicken dinner, by request, I've rubbed garlic all over the chicken, it smells really good.
Hope you are enjoying the weekend with your friend Denise, it's good to keep in touch with people, I used to be really bad at that but am getting better now I'm older.

At long last I am on.
Hows is everyone.????
Sorry about the burst pipe Jane, has it been fixed now ????
I thinks you will finds Vets are expensive the World over, as are Private everything. They have all got theses letters behind their names and you have to pay for them. !!!! I do think it's a bit much charging over £10.00 for something you can get in Tesc# for under £4.00 It looks like we are going to pick up the cost of all these PIPs. I say they made the money from the implants, now they should pay to put them right.
Lewis, Ros and his Mum,went to the cinema yesterday, then had lunch out, and a bit of shopping. Julia's treat. She also gave Ros £50.00 towards the cost of a Jewellry making course that starts soon the other side of Towcester. Two or three of the girls are going to join, also that thing where you sew bits of cloth together. (You will know what I mean)
Didn't get to see the Doctor yesterday, but our local nurse who works at the surgery said there are dozens around with it. Her husband had three days in bed with it. So don't like to bother the busy Docs. I'm keeping warm, drinking plenny of liquids, and eating regularly My chest is a little easier this morning, even though I am still bringing up lots of rubbish.
Raining quite heavy here at the moment. Don't know for how long, the whole weekend would be good. We need it so badly.
Have read quite a lot of the threads, but not taken all of them in. :-D :-D :-D Thick HEAD.
Thanks for all your concern. Will try to get back later.

Frank ,I just got your email ,but see you are here now.Good job too .We were all getting ready to send out the emergency team to check on you. "Green Gilberts " lolol Gross Bit like my leaky pipe.It was full of sh**. :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S.It was the pipe that takes the waste from the loo and it had obviously been backing up for some time.I won't go into details just in case some of you are eating or squeemish. The pipe apparently was not fixed properly either (we need some brackets)so we were actually lucky that the whole lot didn't come down.I have been on hands and knees with a scrubbing brush and loads of disinfectant .Thank heavens it was in the garage .The chap who came was very good and covered up the stuff that deposited itself on the garage floor when he broke through the plaster boxed in thing. What a to do .Not what I expected at 6am on a saturday morning .I feel pooped now (sorry for the pun).
Frank it sounds like you have the same problem that Kim had the other week not being able to post.Good job you are feeling a bit better now, hope all that muck clears up soon without intervention . I'll be back in a bit.

O I see I am too late with my posting of Frank's message by email.
Sorry about that I am having pooter probs at the mo.
I am looking into my tree on GR and adding a bit but I cannot find the marriage of Maud Mary Mitchell to Jean Joseph Baulet in 1902 in London marriages. Have found it on Ancestry.
Do any of you look for things on FMD?? as I want to find out about this Jean Joseph Baulet. It seems his daughter Nora Maud Baulet lived with my gt grandmother Jane Labdon (maiden name). I have just found Maud Mary on the 1911 as a married woman working in London as a Parlour Maid. Says she has been married 10 years when the marriage was in 1902!! and she had 2 children only one living which would be Nora Maud Baulet born 1902. My father went around with Nora's son Dennis Wood who was a year older than my dad.
I cannot find Jean Joseph on the 1911 or even know where he came from or how old he was.The only thing I can find is his marriage on Ancestry in Lambeth in 1902 to Maud Mary Mitchell.

Afternoon All,
Good to hear from you Frank and I hope you are improving........any sign you are not straight to the DOCS!! Well, there's to be another jewellery maker soon then.......Ros will love it I think!! :-D :-D
Denise, hope you have a nice weekend with your friend. You asked how long I had the pony.......I kept him 4 years, but then decided to sell him as I was getting married and couldn't afford a horse and a husband!! I sometimes think I kept the wrong one as the husband became an ex after 25 years! I did find the pony a special home with a lovely young girl though. She was very gentle with the reins, but firm with him which he needed. I suggested she have him on trial first (for my peace of mind!) and told her how I dealt with him...... and of course she kept him. She brought him back several times to see me (over 8 miles to ride from where she lived) which was nice and he always looked fantastic. I was so pleased he got another good home, as you always worry about that, but boy did I shed some tears and have regrets for a few years when he'd gone.
Yikes Jane, what a horrid mess to have to clean up! :-S We have trouble sometimes with the en suite toilet blocking as the pipe (built into the wall) doesn't slope very much.......any signs of slowness and out comes the plunger as Dyn*rod cost a lot!!
I seem to be a bit dim today Mel.....what is FMD? (foot and Mouth Disease?)
I spent this morning in a rainy Coventry. I saw Lady Godiva too......well, a statue of her. :-D

Ooops Ann, I thought for a minute you had found your ex a lovely young girl ... ;-)
Glad the pipe has been sorted Jane, such a hassle when things go wrong.
Have had a lovely afternoon with daughter and partner, the kitchen looks like a bombs hit it though, never mind I can always give it a good clean up tomorrow. We spent more than 2 hours looking on line at dresses and hairstyles, her partner fell asleep on the sofa .......
Good to see you back Frank, take it steady and you'll soon be back to your cheeky self

Lol Maureen! I bet your daughter's partner can only take so much 'wedding preparation' in a day. Still, a snooze is ok, lets you both get on with looking. I love your new pic of Alfie......doesn't look the most comfy spot though!!
That's what I hate too about boot sales Mandy, the early start........and then the hoards of dealers that swoop on your car before you can even put your table up. At the last one we went to, we sat in the car till a few more cars pulled up and they moved on. Then we could unpack in peace. ;-)
That will be interesting to find out about your 'Monster's' Europe Tour Shirl. I bet she is very excited about it.
Well, I was looking at an 'Oldies Night' advertised in the paper and it was to be all about the 80s. I told OH it is a sad thing when you are too old for an 'Oldies' night!!! lol It would have to have been about the 60s for me! :-(
I have another 3 bags sorted today for the dogs' home shop. I think another session going through stuff in the bedroom should just about finish the task and then there will be less boxes to go back up in the loft. :-D I have warned OH not to fill the space in his wardrobe yet. It has made me think how lucky those people are that never change weight through their lives......they must save a fortune on clothes!

Glad you are all sorted Jane.A bit of muck never hurt anyone :-D :-D :-D
Thanks Mel, for passing on my message. Glad the "COCK" enjoyed a bit of sunshine ;-) ;-) ;-)
Had a very lazy day, Got showered this morning and put lazy cloths on (JOGGERS) and tee shirt. OMG how hot I have been. Down to U/pants a few times today. No heating on till Ros got back from shopping. Now in my light dressing gown. far away from the tele.
That stitching things I was talking about is "PATCHWORK" Don't know when that starts.
Ann I forwarded you an Email Ros had today, may be of interest to you.
Was reading about my Grand dad who emigrated to Canada. He was a bit "mutton jeff" aqnd crossed a railway line and got killed. One of the old old trains with the cattle grill on the front. That was in a place called Gaunt,
Lewis rang me this morning, to see how I was and to thank us for having him.!!! Bless him. He said to ROS Yesterday " NANNY when I am older and go out and i'm to late to get a bus home, will you come and collect me" Of course I will was the reply. I said I hope he never does that. There are things called TAXI'S !!!! and we are 25 miles away, and will be a lot older then !!!
Ros bought home from Morriso#s a nice wing of Skate for my tea and a Monk fish tail for herself. I cooked them in oil and butter, with salad and baby new potatos. Nice change from a takeaway.
Going on Ebay for a while.
See you all.

Your right about the dealers at the boot sales Ann, there was a woman at the one we went to who came running over ,asked if we had any jewelry and went off in a huff when we said no!! we watched her go running off to the next car and every car that came in !!
When going through your boxes have you found any thing that has come back into fashion LOL I must admit i've never keep any of my old clothes from way back ,well only my wedding dress!!
Had to laugh about the oldies night LOL
Well i don't know where the heavy rain we were supposed to have has got to ,its a nice dry night . We hope to go to the coast tomorrow ,will be bracing as it should be colder ,might even have fish and chips !! :-D

Is that your cat in the photo Maureen? Ellen and I had a large ginger tom, aptly named Giner for 16 years. He was the double of yours. Then we had another ginger and white one we got at a cat refuge.Ellen called it Shelly I called it shandy. It came to by either of us always favouring the one feeding it :-)
Shandy Shelly died last year.Since then we have been feeding waifs and strays and hedgehogs at the back door.
