Hi Folks, glad I gave you all something to think about with the silly signs.
Sorry I haven't been around but have been laid up over the weekend, throat on fire, nose dew dropping and red, feel like nothing on earth and this is the first time I've been on my PC since Thursday.
However, thanks to Frank, I've completely cheered up. I just hooted out loud at the Irish Heaven email. I'm married to a Dublin Jackeen, so consider myself 'honoury Irish' and completely understand their sense of humour. I think it's very akin to the cockney sense of humour I grew up with. Frank's email was so typical and I thought hilarious.. thanks Frank for putting a smile on my face at last.
Not silly signs I know, but due to my 'problems' I had to go to the doctors this morning. It always makes me smile when folks who know each other greet at the surgery and say, "Hi, How are you?" - "Fine" is usually the reply. I always feel like shouting out, "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE THEN?"
Annx, you must live somewhere in my direction as I noticed you said you went to Hinkley to the shops. I live the other side of Nuneaton and we occasionaly go to 'Tin Hat' over in 'wooley back country'. We may have touched on this subject before, you'll have to excuse me, (and my spelling), it's this damn cold!
Going for more tissues now, take care all and don't get my germs.

Afternoon All,
<3HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES <3
William, I am t'other end of the M69 near Fosse Park......I bet you know where that is! Seems like you have the bug going around too. Makes you feel really unwell........hope you are better soon.
Mandy, it would be good if we got some warning with our backs wouldn't it. But no, one second it is fine, the next yikes!! If you rest too long it stiffens up more, but hurts to move position anyway. The tablets should help though and maybe a hot water bottle on it. I found those heat patches Janes recommended helped a lot. I hope it soon eases a bit.
Thanks for the emails Frank......very good.
Shirl, I have to stuff my ears with tissue sometimes!!
Good luck with your doc's appointment Kim. Those poor dogs. How can people even think of doing things like that!!!
Getting my sewing machine out now......OH wants some repairs doing!!!

Shirl, are you ckicking on the little icon. to open the Email as you seem to be the only one who can't open them. OR IS IT JUST YOUR AGE :-) :-) :-
William, If you don't mind some of the Emails I get, I can always share them with you, a lot of the time they are quite harmless, and funny.
Have got dinner already for tonight. Stuffed belly pork, mash, parsnips, runner beans and brussels.
Very still afternoon here, just like the day of the elclipse. when nothing moved, and the air was very still. The evening clouds are starting to build, and I think rain clouds are moving in from the West. Weather Forcast over for today :-( :-( :-(
Poor old William, he has caught our cold, is that what they describe as a computer virus :-D :-D :-D :-D
Mandy, If your back is no better by tonight, try sleeping on a board with your body straight. Very difficult to do, but you will get relief. KEEP TAKING THE TABLETS !!!!
Pleased to say my cold is receeding, just got a crusty nose !!!and dry throat now.
Kim, I hope you are taking things easy, and enjoying the warmer weather. LUCKY BEGGER <3 <3 <3 our days will come. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Mel, is all the work now finished, on the barn and the roof ???
Denise, How lucky for you to have seen the stage version of WAR HORSE. The actors (puppeteers) make the horse so lifelike. Only from what I have seen on Tele.Would love to see the show. But the expence is beyond our means. I have been looking at show ticket prices by local coach operators and it's well in excess of £140.00 for the trip and a show. Have promised my wife Ros to take her one day. !!!! Where do you hail from ????

Hello how is everyone today.
AMANDA I do hope your back is feeling better.
Kim make sure there is no cauliflower or sprouts and things in the veg mix mine stunk the place out .I did not notice but my son did. Use carrots or something not too smelly or just open a window. When cooking the turkey on the veg. How are you feeling .I am a little more cheerful I had such a funny week end with Beryl and Donnie.
I went to Mellie Janes christening it was lovely not like the other one this was organised and a nice meal arranged afterwards.
Anyway one day last week i decided to go to town again to one of the annual chat meetings they have on different subjects and it was what things do you find difficult to do when getting older.
There was this lady who Beryl does not like she calls her Berill not Beryl and my friend gets really angry. Donnie the wonnie came also wearing his new muffler auntie Mountpenny gave him it was so long he wrapped round his neck about six times and was pure white.. He had a matching knitted hat and one could only describe him FUNNY LOOKING well he looked a right twit. Beryls comment well if he gets funny I will strangle him with it . Donnie did unwind the scarf to get in the car I had to have a lift home because my car is not running very well. I told Donnie to drive carefully and he was but the dope opened his door and his bright white scarf went plop straight into a dirty pool of water. He said Oh Bell me scarves fell in a puddle girl .Beryl said good you big girls blouse it can stay there. I got it out of the puddle and squeezed it out it was sopping wet and while they had coffee put it in the washing machine and then the drying cabinet . Along came two very naughty dogs and pulled it off the top of the washing basket and was winding all six foot of it round a tree in the garden . I opened the door to let them out silly me. Well you should have heard Donnie and Beryl said Oh shut up . I said rather amused well tell your aunt not to knit a white scarf next time tell her to try Black or Brown. It had to be washed again and he did go home with it but not wearing it. Aunty Mountpenny is aunty Smith her great grandad was called Mountpenny and had a blacksmiths shop in London years ago Mountpenny and son. Donnie called her Mountpenny dont laugh he thought Smith was common.
Back to the city discussion everything was fine .Mrs Ackroyed went round everyone one by one what things have slowed you down or you cannot do now older. Everyone said something and we all supported there thoughts and had a good chat and advice. Then Mrs Ackroyed said Berillll !!!!! we have not heard from you my dear surely something must have slowed you down. Donnie shouted out Sex and everyone turned round and looked at us. Beryl slapped him across his head and said well I cannot manage cob nuts now I have got my false teeth .
I can only say there was not a person who did not laugh except Donnie he said my god Beryl and looked sick. I nearly had a heart attack laughing and had to make a departure to the loo. When I got out the loo and went back into the meeting room everyone had calmed down and they were discussing another subject and Donnie and Beryl had gone. I found them waiting for me in the car park. Donnie knew Beryl had some false teeth but not all of them were false. Beryl said come on Don whats wrong lots of people my age have false knashers. Well Donnie drove me home rather fast and refused to come in for a coffee they both departed and I have not heard from them since.
Maureen that aunt you had did sound awful. a bit like my auntie Julia .
Annx love your photo with your long hair and the horse i agree with Kim many nice photoes have appeared.Ii thought of lady godiva but you are clothed no its lovely.
I have had to complain the women next door threw all her old turkey and ham joint into our garden and the dogs ate it and both had the runs and were sick. I never give them pork or turkey and goodness knows how old it was. i told her not to do it again and she was really rude to me.
i went to see GREASE but did not like the people who played Sandie and Danny .Danny was fat and pale and the girl was ok but we were almost in the front row and she must have got spots or something and they covered them with make up and she looked awful close up. It was just dancing and noisy music. But dear Robin Cousons breezed on in a white suit singing Beauty school dropout. He was fantastic and came out into the audience and winked at me. Did not know he could sing.
I loved Katarina Vitt being the judge in the skating I used to watch her skating years ago. We have to go to a pantomine ,Oliver ,and this evening with that come dancing bloke .Westlife in June there departing concert they are retiring. Seats are expensive and the kids must have spent a fortune between them. I got all the tickets free for christmas.
Mel thank you for sending the picture and my bad news around for me. Mohsen is back in Tunisia he sent Michelle a text on his phone it said just Hi shell how are you and his number she said thank you for the number and that was it. i wished him a happy new year and he ignored me .Oh well if he is gone it does not matter must support my daughter.
Sorry this so long its past the afternoon away Aprils having tantrums and been very rude to me she was spiteful to Matt because he was crying a lot and doing her head in she said. I said your both doing my head in and she ran off to tell her mum . Have a nice evening.

Some are a little rude too lolol Frank ;-) ;-).I couldn't open the Images one.But the others were ok.Love the Irish joke and the laughing Baby :-D :-D Oh Poor William. It's got around to you now.So many folk are getting hit with this really nasty cold bug.I have been doing a fair bit of sneezing today.I hope it is not going to be my turn next.At least not until the end of the week.I have plans.
I'm sure I had something to say,but I'm blowed if I can think what it was.Maybe it will come back to me..Yeah Yeah ! I know....It's just my age :-S
James will be home about 9-9.30.I spoke to him a little while ago and they aren't going for a meal as he isn't really feeling up to it.I hope I'm still awake when he gets here.He can have the rest of his pressies then.
Pat! things sound interesting at school ;-).You will have to keep us informed :-D.How is your friend doing? Did you say she now had a clot? .I bet she is getting pretty fed up now.
Hi Denise.I did see a programme on tv about the stage War Horse. It is so amazing but I found myself having a cry just watching that so I would be a mess if I went to the Cinema or Theatre to see it.
I do hope all you poorly ones feel a bit more human tomorrow.

I hope he stays in Tunisia now Sheila.Trouble just seems to come with him doesn't it.

(Staggers back to PC coughing up bullets!)
Hi again all, and yes Frank, it seems computer virus has more than one meaning eh? All I'd like now is a good nights sleep, minus a hacking cough and dreaded reflux. I yawn so much my jaw aches.
Yes, Ann I know where Fosse Park is alright, but we tend to go that way via Narborough avoiding the motorway. We have friends who live in Wigston.
Tracey, one of the doctors in our practice has a habit of saying "What's happened now?" - it always makes me feel like a naughty ten year old school child. I saw my favourite doctor today, he's more like a friend and I always feel very confident of a good and speedy recovery when I see him. Going back to signs again, there are signs in our doctors that say 'SWITCH OFF MOBILE PHONES' , the trouble is they seem to have the opposite effect and there seems to be more people on them than ever before.
Anyway, Doc changed my antibiotics today so I'm hoping I feel a bit better sooner than later. I just hope the rest of you stay healthy, going to get colder towards the weekend, it just said on TV, maybe kill off some of the germs.

Bullets????? The mind boggles William.....know what you mean though ;-) I just asked Chris what he says to a patient as they walk in to his room.It is either "What can I do for you" or "How can I help you".Not sure what he does when he gets someone who is a regular pain in the backside. He probably turns his back for a second, rolls his eyes ,then turns back again with a nice gritted friendly smile lol When I am ill he just tells me to go and see my own GP :-| :-|
There is a very weird feel in the air outside tonight. Not a breath of wind and I can't hear the traffic from the A14.It has been so mild I have been back in my summer top again today. Shock and Horror at 6.15 am Chris brought me my cup of tea absolutely starkers.I said what's happened to your dressingown? He said it was too warm.I just hope no-one was driving past the house as he climbed the stairs with nothing but a Tea mug in hand.We have a VERY large window on the stairs. :-S :-S

Oh la, la.........lucky he didn't spill any Jane! ;-) I think our doctor asks the same as Chris. Does Chris have a doctor for when he is ill?
William I think that route would be more interesting than the motorway anyway....probably down through Sharnford? I was the same, tired out, but couldn't sleep for the constant barking!! I hope the new antibiotics do the trick soon. You will sleep like a log when the night time coughing stops.
Sounds like things are falling apart at work Pat. It must put an awful lot of work on the rest with people going.
That was awful of that lady to throw her turkey and ham leftovers into your garden Sheila. It encourages rats as well as making your poor dogs ill. I had to smile about Beryl's false teeth. Do you think Donnie hadn't noticed because she keeps her mouth shut at night!!!lol :-D
I washed a light anorak today and now I can't open the flippin door on the washer to get it out!!!! Grrrrr!! How stupid that there isn't some way you can easily release it.......even OH couldn't shift it. I will have to ring up about it tomorrow.....MORE EXPENSE I suppose!!!!

Denise.I'm sorry we missed you when you posted before. How long ago was that?.Smell are wonderful things for bringing back old memories. One for me is Plasticine .That reminds me of Primary School. Another is an old fashioned red rose with a beautiful scent. That takes me back to my Aunty Betty's walled garden that was just full of Roses. It always gives me a warm feeling in my tum when I smell an old fashioned Rose. I shall to have a good think about smells and memories.I know there will be many.
I will say night night now everyone .I hope all of you with cough and colds and bunged up noses will manage to get a decent night.xx

Good morning all and welcome Denise.
We love hearing anything interestin g on here Denise. We will take all your moans and pleasures!! Just keep posting please.
Well smells of childhood. I know that one of Jane's is the pipe tabacco her dad used. I remember my grandad on my mothers side of the family always smelt of geraniums and Chrysanthamums. Or at certain times of year tomatoes. I would go up the greenhouse with grandad on a Saturday afternoon and he would show me how he took the side shoots out of the tom plants to make them grow tall, he said. Every time I do this job up the tunnel I think of grandad Beech. He grew the biggest chrysant flowers I had ever seen as a child. Once he gave me a pot which I had in my bedroom standing by the window but placed on the floor. It had three big incurved blooms on it . One side of the petals was dark red and the other side was gold. I was watering it one day and it was sticky when I lifted some leaves. Told mum and she came in and took it straight outside into the garden. It had greenfly!!!!!

Morning Mel and All
Another very mild morning here.Quite a pleasant day so far. I'm sat here watching the Squirrel dong his acrobatics on the peanut ball, and a couple of minutes earlier was the Gt Spotted Woodpecker.I frightened it off when I opened the patio door to try and get a pic of it :-S Yes Mel I loved the smell of Dad's tobacco.Gallaghers Honeydew flaked.Oh it was lovely .I t was in a round brown tin and the tin was lined with crinkly paper ,a bit like a bun case.I would often pries(sp) the lid off and have a good old sniff.
I am just off to Waitr*** now so will BBL
