Morning everyone,
We had such a hot day yesterday and this morning was really misty but the skies are grey at the moment.
Jane sorry to hear you had a fall into the punt. Not a nice start to the day out. Hope the thumb is not quite so sore today. Any bruises??
Ann I do hope you enjoy your holiday and I quite understand that you will not be able to come and visit.
My mum used to undo jumpers and then wash the wool and wrap it around big lumps of card to take the crinkles out before reknitting. I can remember helping her do it!
Pat hope you have ad all the work done now and you can get back to normal.
Made strawbery jam yesterday with bought berries as they smelled so nice. I only buy them if they have a nice smell as then they are usually tasty ones. This variety was Albion. Did it in the micro.
Have to have a good clearup today as OH's sister and family are coming down tomorrow to go to Torstock for their holiday and asked if they could pop in. We don't know when they are coming to us but I must be ready!
Came down the garden with wheelbarrow yesterday from the tunnel. Three huge marrows, beetroot, toms, parsley, spaghetti squash, butternut squash and runner beans. Could'nt have carried that lot down by hand.
OH has put a different window in the back of the garage, more glass than the last one and he has done a pretty board over the top of it. I saw him draw a wavy line over the piece of wood and laughed at him. Next time I looked at it he had cut a scolloped line along it with a hole in each bit. Have'nt taken a photo yet.
Well there's lots to do so see you later I hope.

I really can't understand, how some of you get my Photo's and others can't. Is it to do with your computer settings ??? That what Conrad mentioned. and he's a bit of a wiz kid, with computers.
Pat, It must be nice to have your house to yourself, and not have to worry if they (WORKMEN) are coming or not.
Hope Jane is allright. Hope she hasn't broken anything. I must admit those punts are not the easiest things to get in and out. The "PUNTER" had to lower me into the seat, and lift me out again.
Pat, Please pass on our love to Kim, and tell her we are thinking about her.
Mel, We never got round to a pumpkin competition did we ??? It sounds as though you have a bumper harvest down there, It's your green fingers and hard work.
I was weeding the veg patch this morning, and grabbed a STINGING NETTLE. Stung both back and front of hand and fingers. Put hand in Barrow that is full of water. took some of the sting away. No Doc leaves in the garden. Got my cabbage plants it, and mowed both lawns. Looks great at the moment, Ros is doing a bit of weeding in the beds.

Oie Oie Oie,
Anybody there???? Don't know if this will get through, so will just make it short.
Thanks to Mel and Pat for passing on my messages. Still in lala land on the Val**m. Got to love the paramedics they do a wonderful job - didn't want to leave the ambulance.
Not sure what is happening, they sent me home because I was too hard to look after blood pressure went south after being so high. (THEY WERE GUESSING AS TO WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME). My doc has been ringing to see how I am, if he knew I had been sent home, he would be furious.
Need the couch fast, love to you all.
Best wishes, 10.24 pm EST - loving the new photos on here.

Good news all round then. Pat has her completed house, Liz has completed on the sale, Kim is home, Jane hasn't broken anything. I am tickety boo, too. !!!
I have pulled a load of raddish and carrots. Stood at the sink for about an hour washing and scrubing, trimming all the tops and roots. They are now sitting in a tray, drying off.
So Liz, is moving closer to Northants. Just up the A 40 and A43. Watch out Jane, we are being invaded :-D :-D :-D :-D I am so pleased for you Liz, with all you and Ian have been through, it's nice to get some good news, How are things on the Daughter front ???? or shouldn't I ask..
What a cracking day today, wall to wall sunshine. I have just called Ros in, I don't want her overdoing it.
Will pop up the club for early doors tonight. England are playing. 7.30pm kick off I think. Will have a couple of pints and still be home by 9.30pm.
Kim. People would pay good money to get to feel as you are feeling now. :-D :-D :-D. I remember when I was going though my divorce. My Dr. put me on Uppers and Downers. and I would float through the day, and sleep like a log at night. Was so pleased to be able to get off them. Keep well my love, thinking of you.
Where's my old mate Bugger Lugs (SHIRL) Hope she is keeping well, and that her family are keeping her on her toes. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ann, If I don't get another chance, have a good holiday, see you when you get back.
Jane, You will have to LAY BACK. and let the others do the cooking and cleaning. I am sure you can get a few days out of it. :-D :-D :-D

Well, it's all happening today, isn't it. Nice to have you back in touch Kim and so sorry you have had to go to hospital for a few days. I hope you soon feel a lot better and it is good that you can get back on GR now.
Pat, I can almost hear your sigh of relief from here! Now you can do the nice bit, straightening the place up and putting things away. What a change from a few weeks ago. :-D :-D
Thank goodness Liz!!! At last you can focus on actually (instead of might be!) moving now. I bet the time will whizz by. Where are you moving near to? :-D :-D
Frank, for the first 30 miles I will be saying I MUST have forgotten something!! It is a while since we have been away for more than 3-4 days so I shall be lost without the computer this time!! The place we're going to seems well equiped, 2 TVs, CD/DVD player and even Wii if we want it. One thing I can't find is the padded cover to put on the car safety belt. I might wrap a clean duster around it instead or my neck will be rubbed sore by the time we get there. OH's belts won't adjust any lower and are not designed for the SHORTER person!!! :-S
I haven't heard of that variety of strawberry before Mel. The nicest smelling ones do have the best flavour though like you say. Those marrows must have been pretty big!! Things grow fast in your tunnel don't they.
All packed ready now, just one last watering of the greenhouse and putting polythene around the plants in there tonight and that is it.

Hi Decided to stay off the computor for a while and Genes did not want to tell you tales of woe and tears again. I felt dreadful my nose was so blocked up I could not breathe.I did go to the doctor and she said I had been given a decongestant tablet and it had cleared my sinuses but it felt like everything was dripping down my throat onto my chest my nose was so sore I had to stick Vasaline up it. it had some aloe vera in it .It helped. The tablet helped my sinus the doc said. He gave me some more decongestants and a very expensive nose de bunger. I do feel ok now but would hate that again I found it helped to cry Maureen it relieved the tension but know what you mean crying does bung your nose up more.I felt a twit going round blubbering everywhere
Thank you for your concern and good wishes what would I do without you all. I had to look after Mat although Shell was good .He was a good little chap and grandad made a fool of himself leaning over the pram saying cooo ie whoes a sweet little chap then who looks just like his granpar. Mat does doesnt he smile at grandad coooie That was every half an hour Michelle was saying hark at him poor child will be sick of his face.
I thought it cute really Les never makes a great fuss of anything or anybody but did overdo it a bit.
I watched the twin towers falling down again on telly last night this time with Ryan who was in tears New York being his work place and where he partly grew up.He was in New York when it happened and he said he could see the smoke from the towers and remembers the sound of the fire engines he was walking into the city when someone told him to go back the one tower had fallen. He had to walk home because his car was cordoned off. Luckily he knew nobody who was injured or killed. But he said that day will live in his mind forever. I must admit it chills me to the bone it must have been terrifying for those poor people on the plane and more than 200 people jumped from the building. what really sickened me was the people who rang up and said more planes were on the way when there wasnt any. how sick is that.
I got a lovely little musical box from my grandaughter with a fairy dancing round Mel to the sugar plum fairy music and Jessica got me a jumper thick and chunky with a puppy dog on. A cairn of course. Ryan got me a most strange thing. A pepper mil it was made out of sweet corn in different colours and turned at the top. it had New England on it .He said it came from his mum so I was pleased. No holidays but at least some people thought of me. Beryls Cupie Lamp is in the loo. sat on a small table. I gave Donnies tee to my son sorry Donnie but my bust is too large for some hands protruding .They look like they are sat on Lickey Hills where they live.
Well with visitors Sat and the christening Sunday did cheer up. The rest of the weeks been peaceful. We had a magpie looking in at us again in our lounge he comes and sits and taps on our window so I go out and feed him so cute. Can be annoying though when he sits on the swing and messes on it.Sometimes all over the cover.
Oh I did laugh I went to a christening of Cassandras daughters baby called Bathsheba Darryl .Well myself Annie and Sophia were invited. We met up and went together .The church was cute only small in the country and the vicar was so funny he had a huge long nose and some very big horn rimmed glasses. He said please read out the babies name to a lady called Harriet and she read out those names and the vicar choked and said I bless baby eh eh Debra eh eh and before he could utter another word Cassie shouted out its not Debra you clot vicar whatever next. I looked at Annie who was laughing into her hanky and Sophia was laughing so loud everyone started giggling. I felt a bit ill to laugh but it did tickle me. I said to Beryl does anything in your family go right. The vicar apologised and said he had only just had his earing aid and that did set me off giggling. He said I have not got used to adjusting it yet. Cassie said well can you get on with the service with the right name please. Poor kid will want a wee in a minute its cold in here. Annie suddenly said I will have to go out its too amusing. Cassie saw Annie going and said where you going cock. Poor Annie went so red and said to the loo. Donnie to make Annie worse pipes up its that way .When I got ouside Annie was sat in her car.She said I am so sorry but they just crack me up that family I have not met anyone like them I should not have come. She said Sophia and her laugh that finished her.
I spoke to Annie today and she is ok Beryl said to apologise but Annie just thought it funny after she got over the shock of a Beryls family gathering. Me I am used to it by now. They have just had a dog this same family and called it Prince Charles a bulldog after Prince Charles. Donnie was studless and in a posh suit being a god parent. I was asked to be the other I declined I thought I would be dead before she grew up so what good would I be .I did buy her a nice silver bracelet. Harriet took my place she is only twenty three.
Pat I love the picture of you in the glasses it is so cute. I trust you had a lovely time in Western. Beryl did .
Kim how are you I have been thinking of you thank you for your good wishes. Liz glad your sales finished.
I was going to go up to Wales back with the family but this week end Annie and I are going to Paris booked ages ago I thought I would not be able to go only for three days starting tomorrow at 8am from the coach station in digbeth a organised trip with a night at a caberet and dinner a proper ladies week end. Ive just had my hair done and my little bag is at the ready. Ive been praying nothing goes wrong it usualy does when I go anywhere. I just hope that nasty mean person whoes let my tyre down twice leaves my car alone while gone. I need a break away.
Have a nice week end and catch you when I get back. I still have the sniffles but will buck up when Im out of this place. Have a great week end everyone Kim love to you and good health.

What a busy day it has been on your posts. It's hard to keep up. Jane Sorry to hear about your fall and I hope your aches and pains soon go away. What is a Dopla test please as I have to have one on my legs before I can have special tights on prescription. Kim Sorry to hear that you have been so unwell and I hope they find out just what the problem is. Ann Have a super holiday and I hope the weather is kind. Pat So pleased that you are finally rid of the workmen, must be very peaceful now. Liz Selling a house can be so difficult especially at the moment, ytou must be delighted. Sheila Loved the story of the christening but am confused is Bathsheba a boy or a girl??
Mel I have had great trouble with marrows this year, lots of flowers but no marrows and I do not know just what is wrong. Well saw the Dr yesterday and got the go ahead to fly but must wear strong support tights for the journey. He says that there is not a lot that can be done for my knees at the moment other than physio but I am reluctant to go as they made my problems worse the last time I went.Hospital will not do vein ops at the moment as no money so its a case of " keep taking the tablets"I have had a good day today, had my haircut, had coffee with friends this afternoon and drunk half a bottle of rather nice french wine this evening :-D :-D

Mel, your bit about jumpers being unpicked reminded me of when I was a lad and I had to hold my arms out for my Mum to wind the wool around them before she started knitting anything. It's amazing what jogs our memories ins't it?
We've had a lovely day today as my wife is still feeling a lot better after her hospital medicine changes. We got in the car (no buses today) and drove out the pretty back way through to Lichfield. The winding way goes out through Over Whitacre, Nether Whitacre, Kingsbury and just touches on Tamworth. The weather was fine and there was a market on too. My wife was dead chuffed as she got a lovely pair of shoes in a charity shop for the forthcoming christening of our two great grandchildren in two weeks time. The nice things is that everybody was in a good mood and very friendly. Nice to be able to leave Warwickshire and spend a few hours in Staffordshire. We found a new part of the town (to us) today where there was a terrific view of the catherdral with it's three spires (the Ladies of the Vale). All this gadding about isn't getting things done in the house or garden, but hey what the heck, make hay while the sunshines, it'll be winter soon enough. Fish and chips tonight with cherry and rhubarb pie and custard to follow, what could be a better finish to a day

Had an hour and a half phone call to the eletric board this afternoon. They kept sending us a bill that we had paid. It seems that the whole amount had been paid into our potting shed account and the bill for that was only 40.00. They have really mucked up the sytem with their new improved accounts and they have changed the account numbers and this is what had been the trouble as we pay online. So instead of telling us that we were 400 odd quid in credit in one account they sent us a bill for the other account. I have been so stressed with it all afrternoon I hav'nt got a thing done!!

Trouble at Doctors today :-S
Last weeks attempt to syringe L ear left it very sore. I say nuse was too rough, but that's my opinion. Today tried to syinge R ear but nothing came out. Didn't try same on L ear when I told her it had been sore for a week. Had a look and said it was almost closed!
Phoned upstairs for a spare Doctor. Saw one who examined R ear.She asked have you been putting water in in stead of oil? I replied no,your nurse has attempted to syringe it. She examined L ear and said it was nearly closed etc etc what had I been doing to it?
Putting oil in says I and demonstrated how I'd been doing it. Seems Ive been insertine tube below the rubber bulb into the ear canal :-0
Prescribed Reythromicine 2 four times a day finish the course. AND an ear spray,Ive to have 2 puffs 3 times a day. Well it had to happen didn't it?

Oh just caught up with yor postings. So glad to hear that pat has her home back to herself now without workmen so she can do as she pleases in the mornings.
Kim sorry to hear you have been in hospital. Did they do any tests while you were there for you to have results later?? They really should have known what was wrong :-(
Sheila have a nice time away and I hope your cold clears completely soon and you enjoy your time away.
Anne my marrows are coming from my courgettes that I hav'nt cut!! Veg spaghetti I have had 8 fruits off already and there are more coming along. I can't grow things outside the tunnel now as we are overun with rabbits. One funny thing that has happened in the tunnel is that I have a little vole in there and it has bittern down the spinach plants to get to the seeds on higher stems. I don't mind that as the plants were going to be pulled up and given to the chickens anyway. I shall plant some more for the small leaves for sandwiches, lovley.......... Khol Rabi nearly ready in there too about the size of a golf ball. Celeriac doing quite well to as oh said it would'nt grow in the tunnel, they are about tennis ball size but there are only 9. Next year I may do more.
William I too had to sit with my arms out while mum wound the balls of wool. I got quite good at it too at a young age and could wind a super ball with a hole at each end. I hated knitting though as it did'nt grow quick enough for me. I remember learning to knit when I had the measles. I had yellow wool and yellow plastic needles and can see it in my minds eye now, me sitting in the big scratchy armchair in the lounge. I think we had one of those utility sweetes?? is that what they were called? It was brown in colour and very rough.
