A fairy of the west wind like the one that broke in the summer. He said she was so pretty that he thought another one would'nt go amiss and she will help me to stick the other one back together.

Also there is another one on the way but it is not available until Feb and it's one I have'nt got!!!

I am very pleased as I did'nt think I was due for anything as we had the bedroom suit.

I have just cooked my Christmas cake!!!! Can't be without that ...............

WE shan't have dinner till later on.

12.06pm.

Morning All,

Sorry to hear you sad news Fiona, but good your dad went peacefully in his sleep. As Jane put it so well, he was in a right old state and it is good that that has ended for him.

Liz, some folk are just like that aren't they, wrapped up in themselves and their own importance! I think we all know some, but it is galling that they show no interest in others.

Our dinner will be later on too I think. The Turkey seems slow to cook this year. I think it might be because it was colder when it went in the oven.

Things to do.......nice to hear from you Tony.....38 degrees...phew!!

I didn't even get a card from my sister this year.........but then she was on holiday when she forgot my birthday and her own son's birthday earlier in the year!! She would be put out if I forgot hers!! lol

Mel, what a nice surprise from Mr Mel!! He knows what you like!!

Another Fairy eh Mel! you lucky gal.
My turkey is cooked and resting.stuffing balls ,bacon rolls and sausages in now. Then the roast pots and roast parsnips and carrots with winter herbs. Then the sprouts and other veg last.I doubt we will eat for another couple of hours.Hannah and Sarah have gone for a walk over the snowy fields.I doubt Sarah has ever been able to do that in Oz.She seems a lovely girl.

Liz,I'm afraid I can't be doing with those kind of people ,vicar or no vicar. How rude not to ask how you all are. What's the bet that the chap from dyson doesn't turn up New years eve???

I am so hot here my specs have steamed up lol.I think I shall to go and stand on the snow for a few minutes lol

Dennis and his wife are visiting their son and grand son at Crawley this afternoon.
Roads are dreadful on the way there.

Ive a service contract with the Gas Board.
Phoned them this mornining. They said engineer will call and fix the boiler on Monday.

Until then we are sitting in our warmest coats as there is no alternative heating.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 Dec 2010 15:42

Oh David you must have something have'nt you???? What about Ellen's hairdrier?? That should heat up one room.

We have only a mobile gas fire if our leccy goes out!! Or we could move up the caravan where there is a gas fire.

Morning Mandy and all,

Not sunny here today just grey cloud and plenty of frost. I must admit to just being up about 15 mins. Slept like a log after that red last night.

Mandy have a nice day at your sisters and enjoy being spoiled.

David how are you and Ellen this morning??

Fiona am sending lots of love and wishes your way.

Shirl I knew what you meant when you put Angel but I did'nt see your message til this morning. Keep well and don't let the boys get you down.

Where's our Sheila? I hope she is ok.

Bet Frank is having a good time too.

10.03am

At last i'm here again .

The connection up here it hit or miss.

Fiona, What can you say about a sad lost. It's a blessing realy, you can't wish them to live like that..

Liz, You know the old saying Choose your friends etc etc.

We had a great day yesterday, all the family together Did far too much veg. Anybody S H O R T. I could posr it for N E W Y E A R !!!!
David you M U S T ring the emergency services. When my boiler pack up a few year, they supplied me with 4 (four) fan heaters When the emergency was over, they left them with us as the were 2nd hand Now.!!! They sit in the garage ready if ever I need them.

My neighbour who is looking after the cat. Tripped over a wire in our pourch, and blew all the Electrics, He phoned me, and I talked him through how to get the electricity back on. All to no avail. It ended up that Harvey No. 1 son Lewis's dad detoured to Blisworth, and reset the fuse box. on his way home. he rang to say everything was ok. I bet he had beed on the booze, and didn't realy know what he was doing.

We are off to Jan's other daughters for about 3.pm for afternoon and evening at Weldon, Nr. Corby.

We have to go home Tuesday, as we are being lumbered with Lewis till the weeking. His M & De off for a 5***** break for a few days. Never mentioned it till last night, We were going to stay in Rutland till new year. I wish they would ask before just doing these things.

Trust you all had a good Christmas day, and will enjoy the rest of the HOLIDAY>

LilyL Report 26 Dec 2010 10:56

I think it IS the fact that 'Round Robins' are so impersonal that rattles me, still, as you say Frank, you can choose your friends etc etc!! This morning is VERY cold, the river is frozen all except a strip in the middle! kept Millie on the lead, didn't want any accidents!!! nice peaceful day today, no cooking, just bits and bobs! am going to TRYand buy a pair of slippers on line!!! Oh dear Frank, I think that the fact that we love our Grandchildren so much can become our 'Achillies Heel'. This is what SLIGHTLY worries us if and when we move closer to ours!! very difficult to say 'No' without a very good reason, but there are times when you MIGHT have something else in mind! the last minute? sounds familiar!!!! our 'Young' usually announce a visit to us giving about 24 hours notice!! and then it's been known for them to cancel !!! patience can wear a bit thin! Watched Victorian Farm (recorded) last night, lucky you reminded me that it was on 'Yesterday' Mel as it tided us over for most of the evening!!!
