Frank Report 7 Feb 2013 11:32

Mandy, don't do a Frank and topple over in the shower. The glass doors can feel very hard. and it's difficult to get up as well.

I can't believe how quiet it is here. AH.!! I have been reading through some other sites, and one is very heated over this same sex relationships. !!! I'm staying clear, with my thought I would be baned from GENES for life. !!!!

Fiona Report 7 Feb 2013 12:41

Afternoon everyone

Quite a mild day but cloudy and no sun. just pottering around the house so haven't got anything exciting to report.
STILL waiting for Christmas photos which daughter no 2 boyfriend took, he still has not sorted them out and fiddled with them yet, him being a photographer must retouch up etc. I hope he is quicker with his customers ,

Poor little Matteo, daughter no 1 had him at the doctors , his belly button is like a huge blister, she said it is like a hernia,(weakness of the stomach )and should sort itself out as he grows, doctor says it's nothing to worry about.

Frank

Frank Report 7 Feb 2013 13:23

Fiona has the HIC CUPS !!!!

I thought I would make a lasagne for tea/dinner tonight. All going well, and simmering away (Mince etc) Thought I had better get the white sauce out (WHAT WHITE SAUCE) Non in the cupboard, rang silly neighbour. "I have got Tomato sauce" I don't want tomato sauce, I want White Sauce. Oh I don't use that. Rang the nice neighbours and she has just used her spare up for Lasagne tonight. (how strange) So it will be SPAG BOL instead.

While chopping up the onions I left my thumb in the way, I hope the bit of skin isn't in the sauce !!! I won't tell her, she will never know. An extra bit of meat won't do any harm.!!!! I am now taped up with kitchen roll and black tape.

Very overcast here, but quite mild. I have just been to the bins, and the wind has dropped considerable.

My lawns look like they could do with their first cut. I have never seen them as long in February. The last cut was late Oct. early Nov. When can I do them Auntie Mel and Mr Mel.???? Will go and look at Hogwart now Mel. You are a one for the capitals aren't you ????

MillymollyAmanda Report 7 Feb 2013 13:43

Poor little Matteo, that sounds sore ,good to know that its nothing serious though Fiona.

Come on Frank, thought you would be able to make your own white sauce !! :-) i make my own when i do a lasagne, i add cheese to mine too.

Oh Mel he is getting a little porker !! :-D he looks so content doesn't he :-) mind you he has booked in to the best hotel in town !! :-D

Still trying to find the oomph for a shower :-S how lazy am i !!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Feb 2013 14:38

I think Porky Hedgepig should be his surname!

Frank it is so easy to make a white sauce as Mandy said and I also add some cheese to mine. You only need a dessert spoon of marg or butter and the same of flour. Melt the marg over a med heat and have a whisk ready sprinkle in the flour and let it sizzle for a little while plop in some milk and whisk like mad (I use one of those spiral whisks as I find it better) if it is too thick just add a little more milk and some grated cheese. Simples! :-D

Turned cold here and I have just turned the heating on to take the chill off the house.

Mandy if you have been visiting your white friend make sure you drink lots today.

When we put Hogwart out he will stay in his ark for a few days before we release him and probably leave it down the garden incase he uses it during the day to sleep in. It will have his perticular smell as he has lived in it so long.

Oh i had a lovely shower ,now my knees feel all wobbly !!

Yes Mel, i'am having lots of water , hubby keeps making tea but i just don't fancy it ,he's doing pork chop for his tea and i'am having a little savoury rice ,it's just one of those packet ones that you make up ,that's all i fancy really.

I do my white sauce in the microwave.

I've had a brilliant afternoon skyping my SIL!!(we set it up yesterday) I was able to take her on a conducted tour of the Cabin with my laptop which was fabulous!. We are both on individually, OH on his computer and me on my lap top. OH is now talking to his cousin in Somerset -It's like magic!!!! Hopefully I can now do face to face with Australia as well as M & L.
Do hope that you are feeling better Mandy, these viruses are horrid and can really get you down. Everyone is right Frank! making a white sauce is really easy and MUCH nicer than the packets - you must give it a go!!!!! Usual tripe on TV tonight till 9.oclock, then Silent Witness and Martin Clunes with the the Shire Horses, one to watch and one to record!

Frank Report 7 Feb 2013 17:56

Sorry girls, I always make my white/cheese sauce for my Cauli on Sundays, for some silly reason, I thought that the sauce in the jar for Lasagne had a different ingredience. SILLY BILLY.!!!
Ros, however is quite looking forward to Spag. Bol. So that's settled, but from now on will make my own.Just shows how silly these things are that get into your brain. I have also made a Bread and Butter pudding, which I know she will love.

Glad you had a good shower Mandy, it's surprising how refreshing it can be. I often have it so hot that when I come out I have to sit down before getting dressed.

Liz, Skype is really good isn't it, I speak to Shirt in Canada, also my Sons and the family most days. It's great and cost no money. !!!! We are often on Skype for 30 minutes at a time, and with the camera that's a bonus, We can show them anything new we have, and Ros's Tapestry/patchwork..

Jane Report 7 Feb 2013 18:06

Ah Mandy. You might feel wobbly now after your shower ,but I bet you feel lovely and clean lol
Mel you do have a big boy there now lol. What weight was it he started off at? I can't remember.250 gms?He could be one of the Roly Polys :-D :-D

Dear little Matteo and his tummy button.I expect as his tummy muscles grow it will disappear.I think it is just a weakness in part of the gut.At least the Doctor isn't worried and Matteo is too young to know it is there.

Liz that was lovely for you to do the virtual tour for your SIL.We used to have Skype ,but no longer.

Frank .I think I have often scraped a bit of skin when grating something and am sure it has ended up with the grated cheese or whatever I was doing :-S
Tonight I am doing Chicken Breasts with Asparagus on top wrapped with Pancetta,Mushrooms and Hassleback Potatoes and peas.

Has William been back yet with his new plate?
I used my bite guard last night but think I took it out at some point .Chris said I was snoring like a trooper when he came up to bed :-S

Have I missed anyone? sorry if I have.I don't mean to miss posts but sometimes they sneak in and I don't see them.

I gave Chris a heck of a shock this afternoon when I told him I had booked the car in (while it is at the garage for an MOT and service and it would cost £3000 and 20 .
He said get back on that bloo** phone and cancel !!!......My mistake...it is £320 lolol
That is still a lot :-S

David Report 7 Feb 2013 18:31

I bought cars for less than that when I was young

Kim,are you allowed to own and carry fire arms over there?

William

William Report 7 Feb 2013 19:33

Hi folks, I'm back. Frank was right, the plate is a challenge, it's like a boulder in my mouth and sounds like I'm lisping when I talk. On top of that I didn't feel at all well yesterday, more like jelly legged and not myself. I didn't sleep at all well on Tuesday night, too much pain. I had a rest Wednesday afternoon and felt even worse when I woke up an hour later. Now the gum above the next tooth feels very sore so I don't know if it's a blister or if this plate has rubbed on it. I left the plate out all today. Might pop back and see him tomorrow and see what's what.

Mel, that was a cracking shot of Hogwart, you'd think he was a real poser. I think that's the nearest you can get to saying a hedgehog looks 'cuddly'! We were watching the twowood pigeons on next doors rear fence this morning. They spent a long time actually 'kissing' and by the time I got my phone to take a photo, they had parted and were preening themselves.

Jane, you are a wind-up merchant. You'll be giving your poor O H a heart attack at that rate. But I agree, £320 still seems a bit steep. Didn't you get a quote first?

Frank

Frank Report 7 Feb 2013 20:36

Women don't bother with qoutes Will. They just think it's got to be done, so do it. If you shoped around Jane I bet you can find smaller Garages who would do it for half the price. It would be worth a couple of phone calls before you commit to them doing the work.

Will it might be a good idea to put some Bongell# on the gum, it will at least ease the discomfort.

We just had Harvey on the phone, Ros took it, and Conrad on Skype.

Jane

Jane Report 7 Feb 2013 21:32

Oh Frank ,don't get me started !!!!!.I KNOW I can get a better quote .BUT Him indoors says as we have full service record etc from the Renau** garage and we will sell it back through them ,we should stick with them..........I won't tell you my answer lol.and I say no more on the subject :-D :-D :-S :-S

My dinner was a real winner tonight (that make a change lol)..I will definately do those Hassleback Potatoes again :-D

Mel I just cannot get the pic of Hogwart :-S :-S........Ann can you help again ????? :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Feb 2013 22:16

Jane what are Hassleback potatoes?

Glad to hear from William.

I must admit I had atooth fall out yesterday just after cleaning them befor eI went to bed. I think I really must go to the dentist now and I shall probably have to have a plate like William!!

Jane

Jane Report 7 Feb 2013 22:26

Mel.They are just Charlotte Pots (or Salad potatoes) .You just put slashes across them ,but not going right through to the bottom. Then brush with a coating of oil and herbs. The recipe I saw was for mashed up Bay Leaf and Sea salt.It was too dark for me to pick Bay Leaf lol.You could just brush with oil and salt and that would be just as nice.I cooked them for 40 minutes in a fan oven on 180deg
I'm off to bed now .See y'all in the morning xx
