This might not be the right place just now,or the time but neither of us are coping with this very well
Very poorly, but very much loved baby , quietly fightning for her life at the vets at th moment.
I would hate to make this descision for a human being. Money doen't come into it. An endless pot where she is concerned.
I'm sorry, but it hurts so much. OH , just gone to visit her at the vets.
I am so sorry.
Julia in Derbyshire

OH has been up to the vets this morning, and Molly has made a slight improvement after having a Steroid injection, yesterday. Of course, there was a little wimpering when she saw her 'Daddy'. The vet had said that he really had not wanted to put her down this morning. She is to stay at the vets until Wednesday afternoon, when OH will fetch her ready to go to Coventry on Thursday, for a second opinion
Many thanks to you all

How awful Julia, I am so sorry to read this. How old is Dougie? Is there really nothing the vet can do for her?

Justine.

i do know how you feel .i was heartbroken when we lost Puss Puss he was nearly 18 and we had had him from 18months He was originally our daughters cat which she had from 8 weeks old . we took him over when she went to Wiltshire into married quarters which was an upstairs flat . was going to have him when they went to Germany but he came to us a bit earlier.
Was my little pal and i know he loved both of us to bits.
Its very hard when they get sick .

Of course this is the right place, Julia.

I know exactly what you are going through right now, as do so many of us. We become so very attached to our pets, be they furred, feathered or even scaled.... they are a part of our lives and we love them unconditionally.

(((((((((((hugs))))))))))) for you both while you wait for news.

And when you have to make that final decision , hopefully not now but in the future, please try to remember, in your grief, that it will be your last gift of true love.

Love and more ((((((((((hugs))))))))))

Dear Friends All
Sorry I could not keep you all up to date through the day,but I have had myself so worked up, I had to go and have a lie down in bed. After going down the garden this morning, to plant two Passion Flowers, digging the hole, and then not being able to see the plants, I thought the best place my bed for a few hours.
Not so my OH. He was not prepared to say no. Whilst I was asleep, he has contacted the surgery of specialist Canine Dermatologist, in Coventry, some 50 odd miles from here. Our local vet's are faxing through all Molly's notes for him to look through, and next Thursday, OH has an appointment to take her to see him.
He has come very highly recommended from another specialist vets in Birmingham where Molly had an operation about four years ago. There, she had, what we would call a face lift. A 'flap' of flesh was pushing down over her eyes, causing alot of problems with her eyes, due to the weight. They operated on her, cutting out the flesh across the top of her head, ear to ear, and drawing her face back, and stitching together.
Between now and next Thursday, she is going to stay with our vet, a few days at a time, and coming home for an overnighter. The staff at the vets, are beside themselves, and they, aswell as us, think it is worth giving her one last chance. But, I have told OH that as hard as it is, this is as far as we can go, with Molly. This is her last chance.
The untold lenghts that some of us will go to with our pets, is unbelievable. I definitely would not like to be in this position with a human being.
Again, thank you all
Julia in Derbyshire
