Tena Lady, I have found, is the answer to the problem of, ahem, sweet peas when you're down the bottom of the garden. Really saves me those marathon leaps up the garden to the house, which really hurt my arthritic knee and save me having to put on a fresh pair of 'dirty' trousers after dropping my mobile phone down the loo in the rush!!! I don't actually go out there with a torch at night myself, but send the old man out to spray around because, apparently, it confuses the foxes and sends them into next door's garden to do their business, as well as being good for the shrubs! :-)) |

Daff, Sprouts are a firm favourite in this household. The perfect winter veg, and Christmas Dinner would not be the same without them. OH has already planted ours in the allotment. Just keeping an eye on the frosts at this time of the year, but it is essential for the perfect taste, to allow a frost on them, at the back end of the year. Around here, we always say, not to pick them until they have had a winter frost on them. |

After cringing at my last post (I do realise I should stay away from this computer when I've had a couple of glasses of wine, ha ha), I'd like to return to the original question. My advice to you pussy would be to get some proper seed compost and sow some more dwarf peas and carry on with the mushroom compost to grow mushrooms. Mushroom compost is really just a soil improver, but it's very interesting that in a propagator it will produce mushrooms. |

Wend, when I first started posting, Puss was on a long ban... in those days all bans were for 8 weeks... anyway.... it was because someone objected to her use of the p***y word in her name at the time..... and reported her. |

Oh Daff, how could you possibly suggest that I eat my little fishy friends? ha, ha. I remember when I last cleaned out the pond, there were only frogs in it. I put them all in 2 buckets and drove to the park. Felt a bit of a dipstick walking through the park carrying 2 buckets and got some strange looks, but I put them by the pond there and they all happily hopped in. When I got home, as I got out of the car I saw this forlorn-looking little frog sitting on the back seat looking at me!! |

This is all hilarious - I'm laughing so much!! I'm in the mood now, the sun's shining and him indoors is ready and willing. Yes, you've guessed it - I'm going to don the dirty trousers and wellies and go fishing. Now, where did I put the paddling pool ... see ya later. |

You may need a Koi pond filter and pump for that size pond. Ours is always murky at this time of year and the filter at the moment neds cleaning every fortnight. We have just bought a bigger pump and it is much better. We have too many fish, a few frogs and some toads, but at 75 it becomes a little of a hurdle to do anything about depopulating the pond! |
