mother in law Christmas wishes. You can wish her whatever else though. My 19 year old daughter set up home 30 miles away with her boyfriend in August. Both got jobs and we paid the deposit and 3 months rent up front to start them offThey have never argued in the two and a half years they have been together.Mother in Law moved herself in on the 5th of november claiming boyfriends step dad beat her up.She took over the flat and paid to have all her furniture in daughters flat paid a locksmith to change the locks and chucked daughters toiletries in the bin and put hers out.I could go on.Daughter confronted her on sat and told her to leave and she refused.Called the police and they said they cant do nothing but take daughter away from her.Her boyfriend rang her yesterday and told her he has packed up all her stuff and its by the door when she collects it.She has now lost her job.The plot thickens.Step dad has now moved in as he could not pay his rent so now they are all cosy in daughters flat and her boyfriend is too scared of his stepdad to have stopped it happening.I know what i want to wish her. Whew that's awful what a witch, but if her boyfriend is moving her out instead of his mother I would say she's better off with him. |

The question is, whose name is the tenancy in? If it is yours I would get it cancelled. Sounds as if your daughter is better off without the family, but it is hard for her as they have been together a wile. what an awful family. |

Your daughter could tell the landlord that she has had squatters move in - that might do something! In any event make moves to change the tenancy if it's in your daughter's name. |

There should be certain formalities like notifying your daughters change of address for community tax, and possibly writing to the landlord . Are both their names on the agreement ? |

Good luck to her Annie, he is definitely in breach of the agreement. No squatters rights as he allowed his parents to move in. You are not allowed to change the locks without prior agreement with the landlord. |

She was lucky to find out their true colours before things got deeper. Wonder what happened with the job, if the old bag had been causing trouble there too. Good riddance to them |

I hope she got good advice from the solicitor. as somebody said, surely they can't just change the locks. has she informed the Landlord she is no longer responsible for the rent? |

Good luck with getting your daughters stuff back. Evil can't call the shots over who is on the tenancy agreement. The original agreement was with your daughter her boyfriend and the landlord. Have you been in touch with the landlord? |
