My Neighbour opposite (not friendly, rather aggressive had to have Police out once)anyway their bedroom is opposite my front room window. He has started undressing infront of the window & he's tall so I'm sitting on my sofa & regularily getting 'an eyeful'.Before anyone says anything I'd still be unhappy if he was 'buff' but he's mid 50's & looks like a tortoise that sneezed & it's shells come off!Any ideas?Don't want to put up nets but its 'orrid(she did it once & that was most disturbing)Help?

From what I've read it's only 'indecent exposure'if he's doing it on purpose & the minute they ask him he'd say he wasnt.
What gets me is I can't put a sign in my window saying 'keep your kit on you sad g*t' or I'm intimidating him

Not necessarily. There are certain elements that have to be proven before that offence can be shown to have been committed.

Indecent exposure - any person, male or female, exposing their genitals intending another person to see them and thereby causing alarm or distress to them. The offence is covered by section 66 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003

You have to PROVE intent beyond reasonable doubt.

Thanks for the bucket.
Wouldn't I get done for taking photos?

Do you have any type of covering at the window that you could have what daylight you wanted coming in without him being able to see if you're sitting in the lounge? Something like a venetian blind that could be tilted to allow in light but prevent people seeing in?

It's probably a set up so I'll have a go so they can have one of their 'infamous' hissy fits.
How do you prove intent Elderick?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 2 Jun 2008 16:51

Do you think they are doing it on purpose?
Do you have children, or grandchildren visiting? (sorry don't know your age)
Is it private accommodation?

Hi Sally-don't want to have to do that if poss it's quite a dark room-they've got blinds though.
My house is high eneough that people can't see in-their windows low eneough that you can't miss 'it'.

Nice one Foxy,I will go speak to our local Police tomorrow.
Ann-I do think they're doing it on purpose, since they moved in they fallen out with just about everyone by spreading malicious gossip & lies. They've recently had a 'go' at a family up the road & I said it'd be my turn next....wish I'd kept my mouth shut now.

How do you prove intent with indecent exposure...?

The rule of thumb we used (in a professional capacity!) was the obvious one....lol

I'd rather not go into details as its before 9pm :-)

Eeyore13 Report 2 Jun 2008 16:59

No Dizzi-infact if you could vote a family off a street they'd be long gone!

SallyF

SallyF Report 2 Jun 2008 17:29

Dizzis idea isn't half bad you know. If you have a 'get together' at your house and all make noises that show how much his show is unappreciated it might just make him feel a tad embarassed that the whole street knows and not just his chosen victim.
