Oh for someone at my doctors to take blood!

We have to go to the local hospital for our blood tests. Opening hours are 8.30 til 11.30 & 1.30 til 3.30 but you have to be there at least 15 mins before closing time & if there's a big queue they close the door early.

My old doctor always bruised me terrible, and I always preferrd the nurse to take it.

As for being chatty, how nice for someone to put you at ease. More like a friend than someone taking blood.

Good luck to you Ros, hope all goes well for you.

I bruise myself when I get blood taken . The Gp who spoke to me wouldn`t know where to start. Have spoken today to a nurse who works with the Practice Nurses Supervisor -we`ll see what happens next,

Hi rosalyn
I would definately let them pay to upskill you,(It will look good on your cv)go and do the course and then bide your time for the first vacancy you like.

It`s not upskilling. One of the receptionists went on a phlebotomy course last week , she waited months to do it , so how they think I`m going to get one soon I don`t know. Anyway she had 2 1/2 hours of Anatomy , and 1/2 hour taking bloods from a dummy arm which didn`t work,
