My mum used to love bread and dripping and a couple of years ago when I went to visit her in her nursing home I took her a few stawberries in a plastic bowl and said guess what I've brought you and she said oh bread and dripping lol.

My grandad always put sugar on tomatoes - said it was a tonic.

Used to put vinegar on cabbage - my Dad said it stopped the cabbage "repeating".

Maybe I was just a gullible child.

Sliced cucumber & onion, soaked in malt vinegar, with cheese sandwiches & salard, my mum used to love it.

I think I might try the sugar on lettuce to get my kids to eat more.

I used to love sugar sandwiches when I was little but always got wrong for eating it.

I found my mother eating a very strange sandwich one day, cheese & golden syrup!
I told her she was very strange but tried it. YUMMY!
