Samatha you are not doing anything wrong. The name is so unusual that none of the vicars can spell it. I'm having to look up almost every christening one by one instead of being able to do them in one hit.

Now what's your geography like? Ann was born in Clayhin, Argyle & I've no idea where this is!

Perhaps more importantly, as Ann was born in Argyl as was Jane McAllister the chances of the wedding taking place there is increased.

I'm popping out to pick up my daughter from yoga but will be back in about 30 mins.

If anyone else wants to carry on please feel free.

Thanks Nikki
Im looking on IGI at the moment and at the bottom of the page it gives a source number which has been the same for all of my members up to now being 6035515 now i have just come across a Peter Donahy married to a Catherine Reilly with the same source no.(they married 1867)
Now whats really funny is that Andrew Donachie also married a Reilly this is later in the same tree 1913.

Sorry I can't find Ann's christening anywhere which is a shame as it would have given us a better idea when Thomas & Jane married.
I've looked at every Scottish marriage on the IGI for Jane McAllister husband Thomas but there is nothing found so next stage-

As it is highly possible that Jane & Thomas married prior to 1855 there will be no marriage cert so in order to prove who they were you are going to need to look at their deaths. We know they were both alive on the 1891 census so I'll try to find them on the 1901 to narrow the dates down a bit.

Ok
Ive gone off track a bit but you might be proud of me
Andrew Donachie married Helen (Nellie) Rielly in 1913, now Helens father was Patrick Rielly and chemical labourer ive just found him on IGI and his mother was Catherine Rielly at the age of 43 widow born 1838 Ireland
Source no. 5031123 it matches the cert no's for the rest of the families

I can't find either of them on the 1901 but I've found Andrew

1901 Scotland Census

Relationship: Wife
Spouse's name : Richard
Gender: Female
Where born: Campbeltown, Argyleshire
Registration Number: 503
Registration district: Row
Civil Parish: Row
County: Dumbartonshire
Address: 36 East King St
ED: 3
Page: 7 (click to see others on page)
Household schedule number: 33
