Hi Erika & ArgyllGran,

No I havent even looked at the Gorvetts in Neath.

Do think I got a bit confused with Eric AA (FATHER) , and Eric A (son).

Yes thats what I mentioned re: Hilda Feasby in the 1939 register.

The copy I saw had Gorvett crossed out and replaced with Feasby.

i cant find anything for the two sons Eric A and Michael apart from their biirths under Gorvett/Holding.

Maybe a marriage for Eric A in 1977 to Ashworth (Warrington)

and in 1974 for Michael 1974 to Plowright .

I have also tracked Eric AA father George F parents as William Harewood Gorvetts and mother as Rachael Sandall - their children were Leonard , George, John Joy and Florrie, so meantime will look at this family as much as I can to see if Eric AA pops up...but will request Hildas death cert to clarify name .

It would be very interesting if the surname Fletcher does pop up!! :)

Will be in touch once I have the cert. exciting - thank you so much .

Cheers,

Sue Holding

There are three possible marriages for Michael .
Potentially (going by dates and places of births of children) all three could be for the same man - but of course the marriage certs would be needed for confirmation.

(But I think the 1974 marriage, in Croydon, is likely to be that of a man of the same name who was born in Croydon in 1948.)

Re the third marriage, in 1987 -

a son of that marriage (with mmn spelled wrongly) was born in Warrington in 1989, with Alan as a middle name.

There are also four other children, three born in Warrington.

If that's the correct marriage, Michael and his wife are on the ER (not in Warrington) on Ancestry - and at the same address to 2024 on the GR version. Presumably still there.

I suspect the second possible marriage, in 1987, is also his, as it was registered in the same RD as the birth of the eldest child of the third marriage.

Sorry, Sue, but at the moment, you simply CANNOT say who Eric’s father was, as no-one has found a birth registration for him.

Researching the Gorvett line may prove to be a complete waste of time.

Hilda's name was changed to Feasby 12 years before George Gorvett died, so she obviously didn't stay with him very long
