Not sure why you say he and Betty didn’t have children……..they had two sons, as per records on freebmd.

Hilda Feasby’s death certificate may prove useful, as it should tell you her maiden name. If Eric was her son he may have been registered in her maiden name at birth

Eric could still be living - the death certificate for Kathleen might be helpful

There is a marriage in Warrington for Eric A Gorvett......see freebmd..........plus children of that marriage.

That's only 3 years before the Alan E A Gorvett marriage.

If that's the same man - which does seem likely, or even probable - the third child of the first marriage was born more than a year after the date of the second marriage.

I have saved the two pages as a file , but have copied the Gorvett marriages for years 1953 & 1956 , best as I can here. When I searched under Gornett - The marriage is there. With Eric DOB and time of marriage 20 yrs later - it appears the marriage is that of the sun. Interesting one birth shows Warrington and the other is Runcorn.

I also found a marriage for Hilda Feasby ...to surname Husband.

Was also able to see Bettys death as you had advised, now I had correct name .

Yes I also found the two births of Michael and Eric , so I have two cousins I need to try and track down .

Don’t let yourself be sidetracked by the Gorvett records in Neath - for now, at least, you would do yourself a favour by completely ignoring them.

Concentrate on the ones who are shown to be relevant.

As I suggested earlier, you may need to consider that Eric’s birth name was NOT Gorvett

As already said, you need Hilda's death cert to find out her maiden surname.

Then look for an illegitimate birth in that name, around 1935, for Eric A A or variations.

There is NO marriage for Feasby to a Hilda other than one in 1909. So she must have taken the name in the same way as she took Gorvett's name on 1939 Register.


The Register was updated on 19/11/1945 - several years before George Gorvett's death

I suggest Mr Feasby was Clifford Feasby, born Barnsley 1898, died WARRINGTON 1965.
Married Margaret Broadhead in Barnsley 1923, and had children.

In 1939,Margaret's in Darlington, and says she's married, but Clifford's not there - maybe in forces.
She also died in Darlington.

Not posting details, as there are living children and grandchildren.

Hilda's name was changed to Feasby on the 1939 Register, by the Runcorn office, on 19/11/1945.
