Get the arnica Anne, it will really help ease the bruising, hope the pain lessens and the swelling goes down soon.

McAnne's Gahan-Crazy Report 17 Jan 2008 20:05

Hi again ..............

Sorry - no I didn't get it checked - I will wait a couple of days and if the pain and/or swelling don't subside then I might - just couldn't face 4 hours in A&E to be told it's just bruised lol

It's still puffy and and bit 'achey' - only really painful if touched, so am avoiding that.

Just gonna take some tablets to see if they ease any of the symptoms.

Thanks for all the lovely sympathy - you do do it so well :O)) xxx

Aww Anne you poor thing so you're all fingers but no thumbs at the moment. Can you bend thumb, is it throbbing lots? Probably chipped something off. I did this to my finger and had a finger bandage but was told to keep moving it as much as possible for long time. xx

Hi Anne, poor you. First off, get it checked out, as you could have damaged the scaphoid bone!
My son did this twice, once falling off his skateboard and then just as the plaster came off, he did the same injury to the other thumb at basketball!
It is difficult for the docs to see the fracture if there is one so sometimes they put on a plaster for a while to be sure of holding things in place. We were told by the nurse they do that to cover themselves in case of being sued later if they misjudge the situation! It might be worth you putting arnica on and seeing how you manage for a day first. The arnica will bring the bruise out faster and heal it quicker. Also try not to do too much with it and defo not knock it!!!!!!
Take care, next time put the light on and wear your specs, the cats can wait those extra few minutes while you find them lol
