Twas the month after christmas and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The biscuits I'd nibble, The eggnog I'd taste,
Each christmas party had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number,
When I walked to the shops, twas less a walk, more a lumber!
I'd remember the marvellous meals I'd prepared,
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared.
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese,
And the way I'd never said "No thank you", but "Please"!
As I dressed myself in my husbands old shirt,
I said to myself, as only I can,
"You can't spend all winter disguised as a man"!
So away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip.
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished,
Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a biscuit, not even a lick,
I'll just have to chew on a celery stick.
I won't have a chocolate, or pudding or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonely and life is a bore,
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot,

"HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD DIET"

Morning Lisa,

That just about sums me up. I've followed Caz's suggestion and printed it off to go on the fridge door. I've also joined Tinky on her thread to do the weight loss thing, so I'm just getting my cossie on and going swimming. It's weigh in day tomorrow!!

Morning Anne,

I have just printed it off as well and I have got it on my cupboard door.
I think I should go and join Tinky as I really want to lose a fair bit of weight this year.
Good look with your weigh in tomorrow

Hi Lisa,

I'm quite motivated by Tinky's weight thread. I've put my name down to do an induction at the local community gym on Monday. It's £3 to join then £2 a session or £12 per month which I thought was quite reasonable. I'm fed up of elasticated clothes!! I want to be a skinny minnie like when I was 'young'...

Hi Anne,

I am going to have a read of Tinky's thread now.
I think I shall have to join a gym as I hate been the weight I am now as I used to weigh 6 stone at point but to get down to about 9 stone would be good enough for me

Hi Mistycat,

I am not to bad thank you, just full of cold.
How are you?
I don't eat a lot of goodies yet I still pile the weight on for some reason.
Ask Caz and Dizzi for some of their goodies, they have some left lol
