Well, here we are then, turkey all eaten, hangovers from Hades.. resolutions made... some even broken already, good wishes passed on to all... it feels a bit of an anti-climax, doesn't it?

But hey... my snowdrops are showing, the daffs are peeping up in the flowerbeds, the forsythia and clematis have buds.

Spring is beginning to awaken!!

Morning Kitty... we were in bed by 10.30pm, lol I don't like New Year much... I always feel so sad! So we both took a book to bed, and read the New Year in, lol.. one of my resolutions is to read more!

Morning Ann... heavy cloud here in Newport, too, although it is very mild at the moment. xxx

I find January and February really depressing..............cold dark and miserable weather makes me feel really low.

Never mind...........this year I will have the boards to cheer me up :))

We went to my sisters, but my husband felt poorly, so we came home and ended up being visited by daughter number 2 and her lovely husband...........after a couple of port and brandys husband felt better and we eventually got to bed at 2.20am.

I have never been to bed so late before..............was wide awake by 9am.

Husband had a bad night, so he is sleeping in this morning.

He can't wait to have his op and get his life back again, bless him.

Morning Daff and Kitty, was raining here a while back,and very dull. No hangover, no turkey, no resolutions made 'cause I don't keep them, and no mess to clear up. All I have to do today is make pea and ham soup with left over ham, yum my favourite bit of Christmas. Lazy day today with plenty of rest.

Kitty, me too... this is why we had the conservatory built with a glass roof, and why my computer is in here.... maximum use of daylight hours and not shut away in the spare bedroom, lol And I can watch all the wildlife, as well.

Morning Caz... I made my soups on Saturday, and have them all in the freezer.. we are having leek and potato today, followed by venison steaks with creamy mash and roast vegetables... yummy!!

How lovely Daff.....................we are hoping to have a conservatory this year, my daughter is getting a much larger one built so we get her smaller one.

I will be living in it I think :))

Oh blimy, it's getting confusing all these same names.
Kitty, just to keep you company at cooking disasters, I was reminded when writing about pea and ham soup. I once though pressure cooker had cooled enough to take weight off, well, my kids faces were a picture as all these peas erupted in a long stream and coated the ceiling and walls. It took me ages to clean up and my kids have never let me forget it. Never did get the soup that time.

Bit dull here but not cold.OH just gone to work - he was abit late:o(

Kitty hope your OH soon has his op and is soon recovered and alls well again for him.

I was up till 1.30 ish, we watched Jools and then managed to get a couple of phones calls to son, daughter and 2 of my sisters - thought l would have probs but l did'nt:o))

Have just started reading (2nd time) Phillip Pullmans 'Northern Lights' the one the film is based on - seeing the film asap:o)

l've got some bulbs coming up but did'nt plant many, not sure if Snowdrops are peeking or not, will check later - l know the pond is an awful mess - all the bleep bleep apples from bottom garden are in it:o((( grrrr

Morning Jude and Sally.... OH still in bed..... he was reading half the night, lol... although the kittens are getting restless, and the big girls have appeared, which usually means there is life beginning to stir!!!

It has gone very dark here in the last 10 minutes, and very very still, not a breath of wind..... mmmmm, wonder if there is a storm a-brewing! I love snow as long as I am all warm and cwtched up indoors looking out at it these days!!
