or do you believe in Fate?

I shall be spending a few days at Christmas with my son and family in a tiny village in Ireland...five minutes away from where my Greatgrandfather was born and most of my ancestors going back centuries.

The thing is, my son didn't know about this when he accepted the offer of a cottage for a few months....and this is a very small village tucked away in the west of Ireland!

Do you think I am being sent there for a reason?? lol BC XX

Yes I do hun.

I lived for years in a town in Essex and had no idea that was very close to where my ancestors lived. I wish I had known, it would have been so easy to get there and find where they were buried.

I think we are drawn to certain places for a reason.

In fact I worked with a chap and his aunt, and both their surnames are in my tree!!!! So I could have been related to the both of them.

Everyone should stay away from Cliff, especially if he's singing Mistletoe and Whine.

That's a bit spooky, though, BC.

BC
Spent years down in Hastings and Battle, Rye area now find out dads side of family were there, only found out once I had moved away.

When hubby was working in the hotel in Rye he used to get extra fruit and Veg from a shop that was owned by my nans cousin.

And worked next to the registry office that would of had a marriage of the family in, if only I had known

That is amazing, Dawnie! And thank you CC:-)

I am inclined to take a very matter of fact view on life (in spite of my fantasies on here! lol) but there are some things that cannot easily be explained...and that is good:-)

BC how about this one then.

You all know about Tiddler well she has a male cousin who is bar 4 days 3 years older than her.

His mum is my OH little sister, now when she was expecting we didnt talk about names and when I was expecting Tiddler we didnt discuss names.

After I had her I sent her a photo of her, SiL hubby had it on the computer screen when shecame home from work , she asked where he got the photo of their son from as she hadnt seen it before he had to tell her it was Tiddler.

Nothing unusual about that after all they are related and Tiddler is just like her dad but when Sil was telling me about it she said they had decided on the same names if theirs had been a girl.

SPOOKY.

Yes BC I definitely believe in Fate after certain 'happenings' while trying to find my Grandparents, who unfortunately I've not found yet.
It's too long a story but I had contact from someone on-line from New Zealand and all we had was a surname.

Their Mother and my Dad had just died within a month of each other ( we learnt she was his long lost sister, they were separated and fostered from birth).
They had also been married the same month/year and then died same month/year, they never knew or got to meet each other but I like to believe now they are together forever!
I now have new cousins and have our parents' certs. to forge our links.

Hope you have a marvellous Christmas BC. I think your ancestors played a part in bringing you to their 'spot'....spooky!!
