Hi BC and good to see Wendy still here too and a few others I reconise.

I've not looked in for ages.... maybe it's fate telling me to? :0)
I missed the pub...just wasn't the same with out it, Arthur and those Almond croisants and the cakes Wendy was always making.
Hope Poppy and all are well.

I wish you all a very Happy Christmas.

I believe in God-Incidences. He has it all planned out.

Recently I met up with a second cousin I didn't know existed. She is in contact with other relies I didn't know existed.

But I had a photo of a family in New Zealand. It turned out to be a photo of my Great Aunt when she was a baby. So, I e-mailed it.

The upshot was that my Great Aunt saw the photo, which she had never seen before. Sadly, my Great Aunt died yesterday, aged 89, of cancer. So I wasn't able to meet her. But I am so glad that she saw the photo.

When my dad was younger he and his mate went to the lakes on a motorbike. well the bike broke down at a place called Dalston and my dad (and his mate)had to hitch a lift home. I recently found out my Dad's Granddad was born at Dalston and lived there til he was a teenager, many ancestors from there also. My dad had no idea.

I firmly believe in fate,

The part of the Lake District I love the most is Borrowdale, made my first visit at 11yrs old with a school trip.
My grandma was a Borrowdale (but didn't come from there) and just recently found out that one of my ancestors was born there in the 1850s

Yes BC I definitely believe in Fate after certain 'happenings' while trying to find my Grandparents, who unfortunately I've not found yet.
It's too long a story but I had contact from someone on-line from New Zealand and all we had was a surname.

Their Mother and my Dad had just died within a month of each other ( we learnt she was his long lost sister, they were separated and fostered from birth).
They had also been married the same month/year and then died same month/year, they never knew or got to meet each other but I like to believe now they are together forever!
I now have new cousins and have our parents' certs. to forge our links.

Hope you have a marvellous Christmas BC. I think your ancestors played a part in bringing you to their 'spot'....spooky!!

BC how about this one then.

You all know about Tiddler well she has a male cousin who is bar 4 days 3 years older than her.

His mum is my OH little sister, now when she was expecting we didnt talk about names and when I was expecting Tiddler we didnt discuss names.

After I had her I sent her a photo of her, SiL hubby had it on the computer screen when shecame home from work , she asked where he got the photo of their son from as she hadnt seen it before he had to tell her it was Tiddler.

Nothing unusual about that after all they are related and Tiddler is just like her dad but when Sil was telling me about it she said they had decided on the same names if theirs had been a girl.

SPOOKY.

That is amazing, Dawnie! And thank you CC:-)

I am inclined to take a very matter of fact view on life (in spite of my fantasies on here! lol) but there are some things that cannot easily be explained...and that is good:-)

When hubby was working in the hotel in Rye he used to get extra fruit and Veg from a shop that was owned by my nans cousin.

And worked next to the registry office that would of had a marriage of the family in, if only I had known
