Last week I told you my hubby had a heart problem. Well they have got that under control. But before they let him out of hospital they decided to give him an Ultra Sound as he was slightly Jaundice. Thank god they did as they found something rather nasty. They followed this up with an MRI which confirmed the following.
Seems he has got an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. If they are enlarged and are 5 cms then they are dangerous my hubbys is 6.5 cms so he has to have surgery. It's just like a time bomb waiting to explode. Because he was on these certain Heart pills it seems they can't operate until they are out of his system as it could cause Massive bleeding during the Operation. They have now taken him off the pills for the time being.
Hopefully he will be having the Op on Sunday or Monday and it could take up to 3 hours.
I know you were all so kind in your positive thoughts for him and and hope all those thoughts will apply for his big Operation.
Thank you once agin for your kindness and will let you know how things go as soon as it is all over.

I know you are a caring bunch of people and just wanted you to know what was going on.
Love
Jackie West Aussie

Jackie, thank goodness they did that scan, and what a worry for you both......at least you know what is going to happen, and you do know there are many GR members who will be with you both in spirit, all the way.....

Please keep us all posted on his progress and maybe another GR member will know of someone that has had this op, it often happens this way....

I knew I could depend on you all for your positive thoughts and I thank you so much. I certainly will let you know how things go. Still not sure on the day but rest assured I will let you know.
Been a bit of a worrying time and hopefully I will have him home with me in about 10 days.
I miss him so much and have no one to do the dishes for me Lol ( not that I really care about that)
Love Jackie

thank goodness they did the scan. All men over 60 were scanned for this last year. Luckily OH was OK. I wish they would scan women too as both my Mother and her brother died from an aortic aneurism and I have no idea if it is hereditary Of course, this being 12 and 15 years ago they didn't know they had it.

I will be thinking of your OH and wishing him well with the op.

Oh sweetheart, how very worried you must be. Stay strong though, he'll come through this, specially if all our prayers and thoughts work which I'm sure they will.

HI Ann
Yes according to Keih's doctor it is heriditory. He doesn't remember anyone having this though. Once again according to the Doctor once they burst there is not much chance of survival and they said he was a very lucky man that thay found it by accident. It is more previlent in men over 60.
We were so grateful to the Heart Specialist that he found it. He has now been refered to a Vascular Specialist. I am still a little concerned as it is only an 80 % success Rate and because keith has a heart problem it's a big worry. All I can do is Pray that things go OK. He has always been a healthy man all his life and I hope that puts him in good stead for this Operation.
Thanks for your Comments anyway
Regards
Jackie
