Morning
I've not been around for a few days my mother in law really is not well Alzheimer's my god what a cruel illness.
I have never seen such a deterioration in somebody in two weeks.
It's just so sad it's breaking my heart she doesn't know the difference between day or night.
I'm taking her to the doctor's at 10.10 hopefully to get some sleeping tablets to see if I can get it back into some kind of routine.
she's had me up all night again fingers crossed. Sorry to go on but gosh it's such hard work I really don't mind though I love this lady to bits .
I hope you are all healthy happy and having fun.
Take care
Love Lynne absolutely shattered. x

Good Morning Angel,

I do feel for you as I have seen this at first hand. She is lucky to have some-one like yourself to care.

Have you looked on the 'sufferers/carers' thread?. There may be someone on there in the same position as yourself who may be able to advise if you need any further support.

I hope you are able to get some rest too.

God Bless
Susan

Hi Lynne,

I know what you are talking about, my mum had it too, very difficult for the person who has it and also for the carer. Mum no longer here now passed on but I do remember the problems.
Now have to care for OH with really bad illness. I know how difficult it can be, you can't get a good night sleep, I am still up, haven't even been to bed yet, have to go to shops now, may catch a few hours sleep later but then maybe not. A carers life is very difficult at times.

Good morning everyone
Thanks your support is so very appreciated to be honest I'm finding her family more hard work than my mother-in-law.
That only support that I get from her daughter and son not my partner he's brilliant with her they just want to put her in a home.
I just can't do that it would kill her yes I may be having sleepless nights but at least I know it is because I am caring for a lovely lady. Her daughter and son doesn't even come to see her her daughter lives in blackpool no excuse. And her son is all over the world sponsoring a well known snooker player he says he has to go to give him support. Stupid man is what I say you only have one mum.
Take care have fun
Love lynne x x

Hi
Yes everything OK at the doctor's I don't think that he much good but she absolutely adores him.
he did give me 14 days sleeping tablets to try her on a will just see how it goes.
She is so funny at the moment though she seems to think that she works for the government thinks I'm a personal Secretary so today she decided that we had got to go canvassing. So we've been up and down the road for an hour just posting nothing in everybody letterbox and I don't know what the neighbours and everybody else thinks she as really enjoyed herself that is all that matters.
So glad that I did this thread it is made me feel not alone thank you x x

My own family helped me as much as they can just no support from her own family really.
But do know what I don't care any more as long as she's happy I'm happy.
my god what a cruel illness I have never seen such a deterioration so quick I will never let her go in to a home I don't care how hard it gets no way.
I just wouldn't trust anybody with her love her to bits thanks everyone have a good evening.
She's on about going canvassing again will see x x

Lynn,

you are an absolute star, bless you.
My poor Mummy in in the early stages and I am so far away from her. It is such an awful thing, she is fit and healthy in herself its just the mind has gone. Like your MIL she always said she did not want to go in a home, but I was to shoot her first. I fly back to the UK every 5/6 weeks and notice how quickly it is taking hold of her, so I do not think it will be too long before I will need to stay with her permanently. An awful, awful illness - keep your chin up angel, laugh with her whilst you can my love - enjoy your canvassing but wrap up well.
thinking of you, Lesley xx
