I have never knitted anything other the squares towards a blanket, it facinates me though how people follow the pattern and it comes out as a jumper, cardigan etc.

Anyway I am off to my bed soon, best check Hayley has everything before I go :):)

i restarted knitting when i suffered panic attacks bout 15 year ago,then had break cos daughter wanted my complete attention cos she had new baby brother,
then recently restarted it now i got granddaughter, made lots of cardis for her blankies too oh yeh i crocheted them,
its good a bloke can knit, dad can his mam taught him

If you google Kumihimo lots of lovely sites come up.

You can make simple handlooms from thick card and it is very soothing making fancy braids. My husband turned me some wooden discs but thick card works.
These sites might give inspiration. It can be used to decorate all sorts of things or make jewellery.

My husband made me a bigger loom and we were going to give my sister one but we gave her my new one because my husband had to go into hospital. That reminds me he owes me a marudai loom!!!

I can do a little knitting :):) I learned when my sisters were learning , pearl and plain only though , corr that takes me back, so does the rug making, we had a kit here that Hayley finished off for Kerry my daughter who started it and never got further then a few rows :):)

I could certainly do with getting Hayley interested in some of the Japanese braids and things. I have a few japanese and chinese swords that need some re binding :):) I will see what she thinks in the morning. I may get to benefit this time as well :):)

My husband made me some simple handlooms to do that and I've done it with my Guides too.

Just had a thought, unfortunately Hayley would be unable to use it because of the burnings. Hayely has lung damage and brittle asthma. I did Google it though and some of the works I see were lovely.

We are always on the look out for new things to do. Hayley tends to do her crafts for as long as she enjoys doing them really, over the years there have been many times when she was asked to do orders etc, Hayley always says one or two is ok but it is her hobby and the fun starts to fade with to many orders. I can remember when the dough crafts were quite popular Hayley was working daytimes and spending a lot of her spare time trying to keep up with what people wanted. Hence she stopped doing them.

Well I reckon she'd like doing it if you need an idea for a Christmas pressie!
Try putting pyrography into Google images then it will give you an idea of what can be done.

Sorry for the delaying in getting back to you. I popped downstairs to ask Hayley about Pyrography as I was not sure what it was myself. Hayley has not as yet tried this one, always something for the future though.

Has she tried pyrography? I think she'd like that. A number of pyrographers do North American Indian themes and wolves.
