Autumn Rain

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.

Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the same way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Smile, think of me, pray for me,
Let my name be ever the household word that it was,
Let it be spoken without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well."

Fountain of Love

I hear you cried a fountain
Because I went away
I hear that you reach out for me
every single day
I know that there’s not many songs
that you can bear to hear
that do not make you feel so sad
and want me to be near
please don’t cry a fountain because you think I’m dead
I’m here beside you every day
I’m here inside your head
I’m here with every breath you take
and every night when you’re asleep
into your room I gently creep
and place a kiss on your forehead
oh no my Love I am not dead
for there is no such thing you know
and I am here to prove it so
When my body grew so tired
and my heart was beating slow
and when my legs refused to move
I knew it was my time to go
Please don’t cry a fountain
I’m here with you forever
though my body’s gone to dust
I will leave you never !

A Little boy
A special friend
A little fighter
Right to the end.
Gone from our lives
But not from our hearts
We'll keep you there always
Like we have from the start

Remember Me.

No pain beyond, no tears, no fear.
No thoughts of death for I'm still near.
No hugs I know, nor sweet caress,
But I'm still close to love and bless.
No quiet word, nor gentle touch,
But don't despair ~ I love you much.
No gesture kind, to show I care;
The veil's drawn, but I'm still there.
Grieve not too long ~ but look around,
In earthly things I shall be found.
A falling leaf, a growing tree,
In every breeze you will feel me.
I walk in life ~ death holds no pain.
Be Reassured, we'll meet again.

I'll lend you for a litle time, a child of mine he said
For you to love while he lives and mourn for when he's dead
It may be six or seven years, or twenty two or three
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring you his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief
You'll have his lovely memories, as solace for your grief.

Hope you can get comfort in the future for all the kindness shown.

A million times I needed you A million times I cried
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died
In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place no one will ever fill
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane
I,d walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same
but God calls us one by one so the chain will link again

Four Candles For You

The first candle represents our grief.
The pain of losing you is intense.
It reminds us of the depth of our love for you.

This second candle represents our courage.
To confront our sorrow,
To comfort each other,
To change our lives.

This third candle we light in your memory.
For the times we laughed,
The times we cried,
The times we were angry with each other,
The silly things you did,
The caring and joy you gave us.

This fourth candle we light for our love.
We light this candle that your light will always shine.
As we enter this holiday season and share this night of remembrance
with our family and friends.

We cherish the special place in our hearts
that will always be reserved for you.
We thank you for the gift
your living brought to each of us.

We love you.
We remember you.

This is something I have on occasion sent to other people to try and help them. Meybe it will help Carol and others at sometime. Its called "Death is Like Catching a Train. Death is like catching a train,Yes my Darling,It is So. The time of departure one may not know or sense.Resolutely one approaches the Stationmaster,Who is not God,Though good at Quelling Agitation.Death is like catching a train my Darling,It is nothing really,No fall inthe dark, even the Guard will assist you into the Carriage,And he will Uplift his Cap,Its Badge a Cluster of Stars,So you have no time to think,No waiting time to Steel yourself,Do not be Scared the reception is always reassuring,With or without Warning. You seem to know which seat to take and settle back,The other Passengers are not distressed. The train begins to move, and some of the best Occasions of your life go past the windows. The People you revered wave to you In the Elysian Dappled sunlight. The deep held animal friends you have known are near,Of course you will see them gain Those you loved so much, and who love you, And I shall be with you my dearest.Into the Tunnel you go with a Roaring,The Coaches Sway, and Through the the Darkness,All of a Sudden,You come into a New Morning. One of my poems for you CarolB, from your friend.

Quiet New Dawn

Summer nights far off
Left to chill on the
Cold night's air.
Breath fresh -
Closer, closer now
And quietly asleep.

Murmurings in between
Shifting between the depths
Of dawn and a new day.
Slowly, quietly we weep
The scent of Heaven
Just a sigh away.

We are losing you to ghosts
They walk around this place
Calling you with them,
They sleepwalk around you
With the invitation
Of a fresh new dawn.

Tired now and slipping away
You fall into the unconscious
And we let you sleep on,
We wait, watch and hold you
Light - as you slip into
A quiet new dawn.

When you wonder the meaning of life and love
Know that I am with you
Close your eyes and feel me kissing you
In the gentle breeze across your cheek
When you begin to doubt that you shall ever see me again
Quiet your mind and hear me
I am in the whisper of the heavens
Speaking of your love
When you lose your identity
When you question who you are and where you are going
Open your heart and see me
I am the twinkle in the stars smiling down upon you
Lighting the path for your journey
When you awaken each morning not remembering your dreams
But feeling content and serene
Know that I was with you
Filling your nights with thoughts of me
When you linger in the remnant pain
Wholeness seeming so unfamiliar
Think of me
Know that I am with you
Touching you through shared tears of a gentle friend
Easing the pain
As the sunrise illuminates the desert sky
In that breathtaking brilliance, awaken your spirit
Think of our time together, all too brief, but ever brilliant
When you were certain of us together
When you were certain of your destiny
Know that God created that moment in time
Just for us
I am with you always.

Where You Are

Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You're still an inspiration
Can it be
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for a while to know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn't faith believing
All power can't be seen

As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
'Cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me from up above

And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

Fly me up
To where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for a while
To know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

I know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

They are not dead,
Who leave us this great heritage of remembering joy.

They still live in our hearts,
In the happiness we knew, in the dreams we shared.

They still breathe,
In the lingering fragrance, windblown, from their favourite flowers.

They still smile in the moonlight’s silver
And laugh in the sunlight’s sparking gold.

They still speak in the echoes of words we’ve heard them say again and again.

They still move, In the rhythm of waving grasses, in the dance of the tossing branches.

They are not dead:
Their memory is warm in our hearts, comfort in our sorrow.

They are not apart from us, but part of us.

For love is eternal,
And those we love shall be with us throughout all eternity.

Life Goes On

If I should go before the rest of you
Break not a flower
Nor inscribe a stone
Nor when I am gone
Speak in a Sunday voice
But be the usual selves
That I have known

Weep if you must
Parting is hell
But life goes on
So .... sing as well

If tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
and that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die,
I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had,
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heavens gates,
I felt so much at home.

When GOD looked down and smiled at me,
From his golden throne,
He said "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today for life on earth is past,
But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There is no longing for the past.

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we are apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.
