I don't know how people feel about this, no idea how long this happened to you, but I lost me mam 2 days after I had my girl (11 yrs ago this Nov) and me dad died 18mths later.I went through a real tough time. But I think it made me stronger as a person-Don't get me wrong early days I sobbed and sobbed all day. But I do believe these traumas make you stronger as a person. I feel nothing or no-one can touch me in real life, I wish I never had to go through it but that was fate. I think it has made me a better person and I like grew up. |

I think any of the hardships of life, not just the grief of losing a loved one, makes us stronger. |

It hasnt upset me,and I do understand what you mean.I lost my Mom three years back and I still talk to her (dont get an answer) my Dad died a long time ago and as they where divorced and he had remarried I didnt see a lot of him,so didnt miss him as much. It does make you stronger, and dare I say, harder. |

I am very fortunate to still have my parents Catherine but I do agree that very tough and painful and stressful times give you an inner strength and reserve which remains and guides you through, |

oh Jim Jams that's so sad and wicked witch u r so right - we can't chose our family but how I wish I'd listened more closely to what my dad used to say - he never told us he was adopted, but how I wish I could find his/my family now. |

Catherine, you have had a tough time and my heart goes out to you. I know your mum and dad are with you and your family the whole time, watching over you, knowing what makes you tick. Its spooky to know they are there, but how comforting to know that we will be together again one day. Of that I am sure. Just remember that. |
