I could do with some of that myself - any chance?? It's nice of you to be looking after her, we all need a bit of TLC when we're poorly. J :-)

She is revelling in being looked after. I have just made her a couple of slices of toast with Brussels pate.

I'll try anything, although I think I've tried so much already they're all fighting one another. Temperature sky high so can't get in bed; anyway I get really grumpy if I have to go to bed 'ill'. Not a patient patient I'm afraid :-( Jan xx

Ann, my mother is in a rest home not far from Ferneham Hall. We usually go shopping in the Centre across from where she is. Sue

Hot milk and a generous tot of Rhum.....works a treat.....mind you one source says that the favourite, and most used, treatment for for a cold is whisky....it doesn't cure the cold - but what the h*ll...............

My 'cure-all'.............hot bath, hot vimto, get into bed with hot water bottle and cat.

Sue, where in fareham does your Mum live? I grew up on the west End Estate, off Redlands lane. I hope you haven't all caught my germs, i have been trying not to breath on the computer as I sit here. I have had my cough/cold over a week now and I am still coughing as if i have just smoked 40 cigarettes (idon't smoke at all!) Ann Glos

Apologies Grampa, I did not realise that. I hope Collette recovers soon and that you stay cold-free. Sue

Jim I wish Collette well again especially if she's feeling like I am. I also have the snuffles and it's terrible. I've taken the lemsip, Olbas oil, Vicks vapour rub as an inhalent, hot toddies - none of it's had the slightest effect so far, I think we're just going to have to ride it out. If Collette finds the antidote PLEASE can you tell me too. Best wishes Jan

Collette is not my wife and we have separate rooms.

Sue (Sylvia Z ) Report 25 Feb 2005 19:49

Sorry to hear that Collette isn't well. Have you thought of separate rooms as a preventative measure??!! Only joking, lol. Ecinnachea (not sure of spelling) is good for staving off nasty colds, etc. best wishes, Sue PS I'm visiting Fareham (mother) on Sunday, so will keep well away from your house!!!
