Sarah, Join the local archaeological group!! Find someone with the same interests as you! My daughter worked at the local 'heritage' centre for her 'work experience' at school. They invited her to a dig in the summer holidays. She met Bart - they've been together 7 years this August. One of the brilliant things my daughter noticed about archaeologists was the 'inbuilt' pub connection! Although she was only 15, she was invited to the booze ups at the end of the day. One day she got so sloshed Bart had to carry her home! Daughter has just finished her last year as a geology/geography student. Tut tut said mum!! lol Just thought of all the bones and stones in their place lol maggie maggie |

Unfortunately there aren't really any archaeology groups up here and my boss would probably have a fit if I joined one seeing as I kind of work as an assistant archaeologist in the region for the local council! As for the pub culture... yes there is a bit of a one! Pity that I hardly ever drink really! |

Thanks Stelly. Its nice to vent to people who aren't connected to any of it! Everyone I know is understandably biased one way or another! Bex - I'll keep an eye out for a Scottish meet up :) Sounds like it might be fun! |

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has replied to this topic. You have all been fantastic and I do feel much better :) I sometimes forget that so much good has happened to me in the last few months and I let trivial little things overshadow them. Thank you all. |

You're welcome Seriously Sarah, a lot of these people on GR have been my lifeline over the last few months. They're good, decent people and they'll be there for you. People may be cynical of cyber friendships but I've found nothing but honest, decent friends who are supportive and loving! Hope you find your Mr Right at the right time for you! love becx |
