I went outside for the 2 minute silence as i would've got cross if people inside hadn't respected it! And then I find an email sent to me at 12pm..... got I get so cross.... Is 2 minutes of nothing really alot to ask of people?

The oaf next door just kept on bashing hell out of his bathroom. I'd sort of expected that, though. Gwynne

George and I stood together for 2 minutes at home (he was so good) and we had BBC1 on - I was disgusted to see people still wandering around. Two minutes is not a lot to ask of someone.

Benders, did you see the Moslem children in Nottingham with the 'Not in My Name' banners? That brought a tear to my eye. Gwynne

I don't get cross, but I am sorry about it. We had notices up here, it was announced, yet still a few did not respect the silence. However, I guess that is their prerogative. I was pleased to read BBC news online about the buses stopping. Wonder when that last happened. Joy

Yes its their perogative not to be silent but it just shows DISRESPECT!! How dare they? Sorry but I am passionate about this sort of thing because - there but for the grace of god!! I hope these people never need the support of others ever!

We have an infant school playground at the bottom of my garden, and at noon, the children all lined up and were silent for the 2 minutes, some of them were not still for that long, but none of them spoke... so if a child of these ages can do it, then adults surely can! Maz x

I'm surprised at the Singlepoint/Vodafone staff as there has been 3 GLOBAL emails requesting silence at 12 that have been sent out this morning! Although it did not state going outside!

There's only two of us here me and the boss and we both honored the silence but I don't think it occurred to the rest of Blackpool cos the traffic was still really noisy! Julie xxx

I haven't actually spoken to anyone yet today so have been silent all day. As for those who have shown such disrespect - I think it's disgraceful! becx

Diana, It's possible the time stamp on the email is innacurate, however it's also possible the person that typed it just doesn't care. We were perfectly silent here throughtout the 2 minutes EXCEPT for one person who decided to carry on working, so we got the click click of his keyboard throughout - which I found irritating. Paul

We had an email this morning saying that everyone was welcome to go outside at 12, I fully intended to but was so involved in my work I missed it! Before the email though I didn't know anything about it so maybe some other people didn't know either. But for those that did, I agree, 2 minutes is not a lot to ask. Jack x

I was helping in reception class and we all were silent for 2 mins. RE: email sent, maybe it was sent before 12pm....remember some emails take a while to arrive. Also remember that most clocks are not automaticly in sync with everyone elses. Ive at least 5 clocks all showing slightly different E x
