I have to admit to a lie. I had forgotten until son drove in for petrol yesterday. We do have a MORRISONs in our town. It used to be something else, can't remember what. Then Morrisons took it over. Yesterday we went to TESCOs, but went to a pub for dinner. Deanna x |

I go to Asda every week because it's only about 2 miles away. The George clothes are very good, especially the kids stuff. Our Asda doesn't have a coffee shop (a condition of planning permission) and it is a nightmare to get in and out of the car park as it's on a busy road. I usually go about 6.30 am and it's lovely - no crowds, shelves are full and freshly baked bread! We have a Waitrose and M&S in Epsom town (3 miles away) but they are both so expensive. Also M&S food shop about 5 miles away in Banstead. My nearest Tesco is in Leatherhead (5 miles) and not as big as Asda, although I do occasionally go to Sutton Tesco which I like because it has more variety. Yesterday I went to Farm Foods in Sutton to stock up my freezer - they are so cheap on branded foods. Our local Iceland closed down recently (I used to do my frozen shopping there) and the nearest one is 8 or 10 miles away so I don't go there now. I don't like going food shopping much, but have had bad experience of on-line shopping with Tesco and Asda and at least I can see what I'm buying when I go to the shops! Sue xx |

I like Asda, for quality and price and their bakery products are just like homemade but they have closed the cafe! I'm hoping it is only temporary as I believe they are extending. We have Sainsburys, Tesco and Morrisons, all within easy reach but Asda is always the busiest, I suppose that's why their products are always so fresh. We have markets within easy reach too but just dont fancy food items from a market. June xx |

we have a free bus to ASDA but it leaves us there for 2 hours and they have closed the coffee shop, so dont go any more. We also have a free bus to Tescos, who do have a coffee shop, so sometimes use that. I use a proper butchers and we bake our own bread. Sainsburys is expanding here and is very nice, but I still have to wait 2 hours to get a bus back. Starbucks is taking over their coffee shop in the autumn. Waitrose is noce (my husband prefers it) and as he drives then that is where he takes me, but the parking is awful I suppose it depends on how long you can spend shopping, but I do like my butchers and I do miss the fish shop. brenda |

We only have Kwik Save and Aldi here but I do sometimes shop on line at Asda and they are in the middle of building an Asda store (right opposite Kwick Save wonder how long they will last). Can't wait shouldn't be long now. Germaine x |

We got to Tesco's because it's nearest. Before that we used to go to Sainsbury's because that was the nearest. We are very lazy shoppers. A huge new Tesco's has been built near us (Hi, Clare!) but I've only been once. It is far too big for efficient shopping. It was more like a route march than a shopping trip. I also do a bit of midweek shopping in M and S if I'm in town Gwynne |

How I miss a 'proper' butcher and a 'proper' baker and a 'proper' all sorts of things. Supermarkets are great - with limitations. Anyone go to Albertsons or Fred Meyer? :-) |

Hi, We do our shopping at Morrisons when we can't be bothered to walk round Tescos ( i do prefer Tescos). Asda is currently being built and will be open in November i think so we will probably go there. Sharon xxx |

We have a big Asda, Tesco and Morrisons near me. Have shopped at them all and Asda is far and away the better value and the better choice. Plus I find the customer service better too. :o) Claire (asda fan) xx |

I shop wherever they're selling what I want to buy, whether it's a market stall or Harrods. I'm not proud! LOL CB >|< |

Hi Steedie - you o.k.... I have got to admit that I hate asda and none too keen on the other supermarkets either. Get most of my meat from the butchers, and generally go round the markets for fruit and veg. Don't buy much in the way of bread and if I do its from the bakers. Usually call into Tesco for any bits of grocery cos its just up the road from work.. Lyndax |
