I've lost my appetite... It might sound like a good thing (losing weight etc.) but I now feel really rough. I've been trying to eat but I can only manage a few bites before feeling really full. Since last Friday I have eaten: Half a panini 3 cocktail sausages A tuna and cucumber baguette 2 petit pain and a mug of soup A packet of ready salted crisps Don't want to go to the Doc so wondered whether anyone has any tips? thanks, becx |

Hi Becx Sounds like your normally like me and eat like there's no tomorrow! lol. So it comes as a bit of a shock when your appetite goes. Could it be hormonal - if you get my drift! lol |

There are tonics that you can buy that help get your appetite back after an ilness..... I always need them after a cold. Think Seven Seas do one and you can get them from the likes of Tesco c x |

It's a bit of a vicious circle as I feel so sick I don't won't to eat but I think I feel sick because I haven't eaten! Am going to go to the shops and see if I can find something I fancy, if that doesn't work then I'll have to go to the Docs! Em C - Yes miss! XX Jeanette - Can't be that... Don't normally eat a massive amount but this is silly! XX Little Ray - Will pop into the chemist too and see what they've got. Thank you XX |

If you haven't eaten, you will feel sick because your blood-sugar levels are too low. Have something like Lucozade first and see if that helps. Janice |

Actually Bec, I had that some years ago whilst taking a course of antibiotics. Exactly the same symptoms; rang Doccy and he said to stop taking them. After a day or so anti-bio-free, my stomach was back to normal. Have you been on them? Wish you better Hun. x |

Could you manage yoghurt or ice cream. Something light? Make sure you drink plenty of liquids, even water but something like lucozade would be better for you. as long as you drink you can go without eating for a while. but you probably feel sick because you haven't eaten. Worrying about not eating will make it worse of course. has this happened since the clamping business? Do go to the doctors as maybe it is a sign of depression. Ann glos |

Ann - I'd lost it before the clamping incident but that may not have helped. It's got to the point where I'm carrying a bar of chocolate in my handbag because I feel faint when working at the pub :-( Don't like chocolate much! lol becx |

Bec, if you like bananas that might be more palatable than chocolate. or you can buy glucose sweets in the chemists whic we take when walking. They give your energy a boost and stop you feeling faint. they taste like refreshers. Ann Glos |

Buy some Complan or Build up - they are powders that you make up into drinks or soups and they have all the vitamins etc you need - are used in hospitals and convalescent homes. The milk shake ones like strawberry or vanilla are nice although if you like savoury flavours best you might be better with the soups. Good luck, and go to the doc soon if you don't improve. Take care, Liz |
