McAnne's Gahan-Crazy

McAnne's Gahan-Crazy Report 8 Oct 2005 14:05

....... of my very expensive root canal jobbie (Oh Lemon is gonna be so peeved LOL) Having spent one and half hours there this morning - for what I hoped was the final session, only had 15 mins of treatment and have to go back AGAIN in 2 weeks time. Because I had some toothache last week - he thinks there may have been some infection, and won't seal off the canals until he is certain, as it may result in the loss of the tooth if he does this and more infection sets in!!! Am now sat here trying to drink a can of coke with a rather un-co-operative gob PMSL .... dribble dribble lol

Anne, you have my sympathy. When the infection and everything's sorted I hope you're going to treat yourself to a slap-up meal! Or even better, someone else treat you to a slap-up meal! Chin up (you know what I mean). x

Merlin Report 8 Oct 2005 14:37

Perhaps you should add a splash or three of Baccardi to the coke, just to make sure that the alcohol helps to stop any further infection. Hal.:o)).

McAnne's Gahan-Crazy Report 8 Oct 2005 17:14

Hi Julie :O) Hope you get rid of them headaches - don't put up with them too long - go to your GP. At least I had the injection this time - last appt I was nearly jumping out of the chair. This time was much better - except that I could hear 'things' - no idea exactly what was going on - but I know he was using something in the actual root canals to clean them out (sorry to those of faint stomach) - unfortunately I have a vivid imagination which didn't help LOL

Do you want me to liquidise some chocolate & send it over?! lol It would be at this point I think I would be feeling 'might as well have had it out'! if it was one out of view, so to speak!! lol :0) Joan (((hug))) for you dear!

Margaret

Margaret Report 8 Oct 2005 17:51

Ann - the Fair One - I have just finished having two deep root fillings and two crowns made and went through the same slow process as you. The 'thing' they clean the canals with is like a very fine wire probe with a bend/hook on the end. This is pushed right up into the canal and scraped down again to clear any debris etc. I assume you will be having crowns ? Well if you are, the next stage after the canals are permanently filled is to fit a metal 'peg' into the canal and attach temporary crown (a cast of your mouth having been made). A couple iof weeks wait, temporary crowns yanked off and ceramic ones inserted. All this interspersed with x-rays etc. I'm glad it's all over and done with. My problem now is having the confidence to eat naturally and stop worrying in case the crowns fall out. ow stupid can you get ??

la la la, i not listening to margarets explanation of process, like joan says id have said ah just take it out, as i have twice before, no point me coming back for more pain , just be done with it and take the little devil out

McAnne's Gahan-Crazy Report 8 Oct 2005 17:58

Joan - no chocolate thank you :O) am dieting now lol..... And yes having it removed would have been cheaper and less stressful in the end. Margaret - thank you soooo much for the graphic explaination (NOT) - had a fair idea but had been trying not to imagine too much LOL.......... And No!! Not having a crown, the tooth he said was worth saving - shame he didn't predict a quarter of it breaking off after the first 2 weeks :O( But even without the crown it is costing nearly £400!!!! So I guess you could say I am getting value for money pmsl

I know what you're going through! I've got my third appointment on Thursday for my root canal work. I keep getting abscesses come up every week and while they're here my dentist can do the proper filling, so it's all temporary ones! Jan
