Greeting's Joy..... According to my Auto Route...... Skegby is in Nottinghamshire although it could be close to the boarder of Derbyshire.. To the left of Skegby there is a Stoneyford Road But gives postal details as Sutton in Ashfield. this Road is the B 6028. Which goes to the Village of Stanton Hill. Hope this helps .... MIKE. |

Joy just a thought you can try and find out the Streets and Roads and Lanes around it, then check maps for those. Does that make sense? I did it before for someone in London it was ages ago, but it worked, finding the area where it was. Pat x |

Joy If it's anything like London many many Streets have gone since that time and many others have appeared since then. It may be a case that this is a Lane and its been replaced by a Street or largish Road. Pat x |

but ive tried and there is no stoney ford lane ,my plan was to go and visit take some piccys and send to cousin an aussie that ive just found also to add to my folder,any ideas ,xxxx joy |

thanks guys and gals,im really struggling.my grt nana was sarah murfin she is in the 1891 census she was born 1870 ripley and in 1891 was at an adress that looks like 17 stoneyford lane skegby,on the census there is a sukey ,joseph,mary elizabieth,arthur,thomas commins[should say commons]henry comminsissabella sarah and lucy,i cant sleep till i found out ,thankyou xxxxxxxxx joy |
