What is everyone else having for dinner Christmas Day? Personally, I couldn,t face another turkey so soon after our Thanksgiving and to be honest, why should I spend all of the day in the kitchen? We are having seafood lasagna with Prawn and crab cocktail to start and sherry trifle and/or Swarzwald torte for dessert. Am I being the odd one? |

We are thinking of having poached salmon. Plus veggies, or roast beef. David |

That sounds lovely Carol, but my lot won't touch any shellfish or fish, so it's Turkey and cranberry sauce again! Merry Christmas Heather x |

Toast under beans is quite nice. Doesn't take too much preparation and only one pan to clean. |

I think if I lived in the States and had turkey at Thanksgiving I wouldn't have it at Christms. i am not over fond of it and never have it at chrstmas dinners out (at the golf club dinner I had salmon). I think it should be something a bit different, something you enjoy. Seafood lasagne sounds lovely Could we have the recipe please? Or is it not home made? Ann Glos |

Yes, Heather, I'm deadly serious ! Fortunately there are no rules (yet !) on what you are allowed to eat on Christmas Day. |

Hi Carol, Did you get some more snow? We will be having Turkey and Gammon but I think you should have what you enjoy. Mind when I had poached egg on top of mashed potato for Christmas lunch when I was in Austria, I wasn't very happy. June xx |

If I liked turkey I would pay it. We are having it for our old folks lunch tomorrow, so that will be enough for me. We are having BM precooked Turkey crown. We sliced it today and it was soggy and salty. Our Tesco usually sell fresh turkeys of cheap in the afternoon of the 24th, but I suppose you can't rely on it. Last year we got a bag of about 10kgs of sprouts for 10p and whole salmon for £1.50 a kilo. David |

My wife and her mother used tgo go for a picnic on 25th Dec. We continued after we were married. I can remember one year going to Yalding. Very pleasant. Wife and younger daughter are veggies. Eldest daur does not eat Turkey, lamb, pork or fish. Son in law and g/children mostly eat anything. g/Children have to eat what they are given David |

Can't help replying to Pat about her comments on not eating of meats,Pat i'm afraid that fish and shellfish are also meat, and creatures still have to be killed to produce it,is it just that you like the taste of fish and not the other? I'm not trying to make waves ,just curious,i love fish too.Fred.PtfA&G&G&S. |

Thank you all for your replies. To those requesting the Lasagna recipe, it will be in your in-box in the next day or so. I don,t know how to cut and paste so I have to type them all seperately. xx |

Oh Carol. I didn' realise you would have to do it manually. Try copy & paste by following these instructions. Open Microsoft word or whatever programme you use to save it in. Left click & hold down on the text you wish to copy when it is all highlighted in blue right click and you get options press copy then go into microsoft word or wherever you are saviing it & right click the options come up again press paste. Hope this helps Carol as I don't like to think of you typing loads of stuff like that out for us. Good luck Pat x |
