Our Em Report 11 Jan 2006 09:15

As many of you will remember, my Hubby was due to go to Iraq within the next few days...... well.... Does anyone also remember last year, when hubby was very poorly in hospital with his Kidney? He had an operation and all was ok.... except that when he went for his follow up appointment the consultant said they had found an abnormality on his other Kidney ( a second tube that should not be there) and The consultant was going to discuss what should be done with some colleagues.. well we thought no more about it...... then what should happen, This morning a letter arrives from the consultant , saying that there was a far to great a risk of infection leaving the second kidney as it is and they need to operate ASAP.... so.... Hubby cant go anywhere now..... brilliant!!!! but he has to have his other Kidney operated on.... Not brilliant.... oh dear.... :((x

I know I'd feel safer in the hands of the Docs than in Iraq at the moment :) Maybe it's a blessing in disguise :)

hard not to feel guilty, about being relieved. but think its better for him to be near you at this moment in time, instead of iraq where you would both worry endlessly about the other, consolation being if he was in iraq and anything happened to kidney over there wouldn,t want him in an iraqi hospital ...jim

Our Em Report 11 Jan 2006 10:04

Yes Jim, you are completely right.. and that is why the consultant says he cant go over there. The op is not life threatening, whereas Iraq is!
