On mums side theres mennewether .. But have found out it could be mennyweather or merryweather due to mis-spelling at records offices.

not so much strange as rather funny i have SARNEY in mine now thats not funny till you put their christain names in theres fanny sarney and two williams (willy sarneys ) fanny married richard (dick ) ROLLS hows that for a picnic all this is perfectly true if ya think im making up ask to view my tree

I have a 'Dick Head' in mine. Well Richard really but we have nick named him Dick. LOL Also I won a free years subscription to lost cousins for an unusual name on 1881 Nimrod wiffen Thought Nimrod was a new name for a jet. Gloria

The most unusual surname I have is probably my own maiden name, GRIMMETT De Jong is one of the most common surnames in the Netherlands and means 'the young' (The J is pronounced as a Y) Paul - Grimmelijkhuizen would be pronounced as GRIM - LICK - HOW - ZUN and means something like gloomy houses
